Your instructions have really helped me make a pair for my granddaughter
Firstly, please take no notice from rude people who make sick comments. I’ve been struggling with socks on 4 dpns for months, then reduced to 3 but got really stuck on how to divide for the heal. Obviously I’m a beginner at socks!😂Thank you for showing us that you CAN make socks in straight needles. Brilliant video.

Hello. I am binge watching your videos, they are great. You might want to check the voice over directions for the heal somewhere around the middle the stitch counts got mixed up. I absolutely do not enjoy toe grafting or sewing seams so I tend to make socks toe up in the round. LOL But I saw your red sock video and was curious. That sock seams itself.. wonderful!!! I also did your glove pattern with those magic fingers....GENIOUS !! Your videos are so enjoyable and relaxing to watch. Thank you.

Also i cant properly see how many stitches are left on the right side before to turn ? i can see a stitch holder on the left but why not on the right too? Is this called a wrap and turn too ?

Hi Brandy, thank you so much for the tutorial. I just had a question as to when you knit the heel for the right foot. You mentioned that it is the left 16 stitches that you make the heel on and then you continue as normal. Was wondering if you'd recommend slipping the first 16 stitches off the needle onto a spare needle or stitch holder whilst knitting the heel, before slipping them back on when knitting all of the row? Sorry if that's obvious, I'm a bit of a beginner 😂

I think you should knit the 16 first stitches and then start knitting the heel as she does in the video
I tried it, and I agree: knit 16 and then do the same as her (I had a problem with the yarn tail because on the left sock it's in the first stitch but for the right sock it's in stitch 16 - so not the first stitch of the heel, which looked a bit ugly.)
I tried 3 times to follow your directions always ended up with more stitches than I should have. Your voice is very soft and hard to hear you. Also it would have helped if you had written directions. Sorry I'm giving up I'm sure I would have liked them if i could have finished them.

You can make a bigger size by casting on more stitches or going up in needle size

@@BrandyM Hi I'm making these socks but I had to cast on more stitches because I have a bigger foot. When you get to the heel, how many "double loop" stitches should I make ? 5 like in your video (in this case I end up with more than 6 stitches in the middle since I have more than 32 stitches in total) or should I keep making more "double loop" stitches until I have 6 stitches left in the middle ?
@@Jack_Frost divide the heel stitches by 3. the middle can have the left over stitches for ex: i had 16 for my heel 5,6,5

You could go up a needle size or cast on more stitches.

Why you just make a half heel?
because it still turns out as a sock, you can do which ever heel version that you prefer for the heel part.
Will this fit a us women’s size 9?
It might, but it may be a little tighter fit. You could cast on 4 more stitches and just make the length for your foot also.

I'm trying this pattern at the moment. Total beginner at knitting. It's looking far too small! Am I right that a US size 7 needle is 4.5mm? I feel like I need bigger needles.

God this 2023 and videos are still don't have closed captioning. Not everyone is hearing. You think you are helping others but in reality you only teach a small percentage of non disabled people.
She is helping. Try asking for captions politely.
If you were in my shoes, you'd agree. You have hearing privilege. If that's rude to you then what are you hearing folks doing to us not adding cc? It's why so many law suits against big platforms! It should be automatic, hearing can turn off.
I am sorry that I don’t have captioning on yet. It doesn’t let me just go push a button to make them, i have to watch each video and type them in manually, but i do understand how you feel. I will work on that though. Thank you for letting me know.
I must not be understanding the issue because you can click on the gear icon on the video and choose caption and the language. Hopefully that helps. On another note it is not anyone's responsibility to please EVERYONE regardless of reason. Politeness never hurt anybody.
