I always cast on all my stitches onto two needles held together as one, afterwards take one needle out. This way the stiches don't get too tight and the first row is much easier to knit.
I distribute the stitches over the other three needles afterwards.

I have tried learning continental style which looks easier for THIS process but my left hand is not cooperating 😢 I will follow this video today using my throwing method and hope for the best. What length and brand dps are you using? I have bamboo and metal needles…found the metal quite slippery. Thanks for the video.. I will like and subscribe 😊❤

Casting on around two needles instead of one can help if you find yourself casting on too tightly. Slid onge needle out after youre done casting on. You can also cast on with a needle one ir two sizes larger. Another way to close the gap is to cast on anextra stitich and knit the first and last stitches together.

Yes - the pattern would work for any needle configuration - it's just that some of the instructions will have references to the stitches on Needle 1 or Needle 2. As long as you are comfortable with adjusting that information to 9" circulars you shouldn't have any trouble.

I am a starting sock knitter and for me the heelflap is to long in every pattern.
I also see it in this video.....36 rows for the heelflap!
Who has such long heels?....or do i have weird feet?

Each size has a different number of rows - I have a large foot so I was knitting a larger size in this tutorial. Smaller sizes will have fewer rows. Also, you can work fewer rows in the heel flap if you need a shorter one - very easy to adjust (you'll have to change the number of stitches you pick up for the gusset).

      Thanks for replying.....
I want to knit socks but for some reason it doesnt work out.
Question.....Does the heelflap has to be square?
I started with 56 stitches....heelflap over 28 stitches and the pattern said 28 rows.
But when I took them on the heelflap/heelturn dangles about half an inch under my foot.
So can I do the heelflap over 28 stitches with lesser rows?

Yes, you can definitely do that - the only thing you'll have to be aware of is the number of gusset stitches you'll be picking up after the heel turn. Since your heel flap is shorter you can't pick up as many stitches (the general guideline is to pick up a stitch along each edge for every TWO rows in the heel flap). So keep track of how many rows you knit and pick up half that number of stitches along each side for the gusset. Then just decrease the gusset stitches as instructed until you're back to your starting stitch count.

      Ohh...thanks!
I thought that because my pattern said 28 stitches/28 rows I thought this was rule it always had to be thesame number.
I am gonna knit 24 rows now over 28 stitches...hopefully that will work out fine.
      Have a blessed day.

I am just a beginner with double pointed needles. I cannot figure out how to join in the round 20:08. Your suggestions on how to hold the needles while joining makes it too complicated to understand. You need to make powerpoint graphs to show which needle goes where when joining. Your explanation needs to be more simplified for an absolute beginner like myself to understand. I have tried to make the sock in this tutorial more than 10 times and could not follow your instructions.

I just bought the pattern, which was not cheap of lovecrafts. All I got was basic instructions enlarged over 2 pages, which I could of got else where for free. Your video is great, but the pattern is basic and not worth the £5.85 I spent. It does not tell you how to adjust for a better fit. Its ends with graft rem stitches not saying how to. For a beginner sock maker this pattern is poorly done and just gives basics of a sock.

I'm sorry you weren't pleased with your purchase. The video and pattern are targeted at beginners so it is supposed to be just a basic pattern for those who are new to sock knitting. Instructions for grafting are included. Again, I'm sorry it wasn't what you expected.
