When I get up in the morning and see a story like yours I at 70 years old kick myself for not doing what you have done. Not with the “Man Stand”, but to pursue an idea. So many ideas and no attempts. You on the other hand implemented what so many fail to do and that is: Not being afraid of failure, not worrying about what others thought - you moved forward. What is interesting to me is your attitude is exactly what I thought - in regard to family, friends success, and being blessed. I just retired and was successful I might add, but I admire your drive and attitude. I’m rambling and will finish by saying - “Well Done!” Just remember - it’s easy to get caught up with success and two things come to mind, 1) When placed on a pedestal there is only one way to go, and that is “down” - don’t let folks place you on that pedestal. 2) The toes you step on - on the way up are attached to the ass you’ll kiss on the way down”. I don’t think you’ll have a problem with either as you seem to be well grounded already - probably your parents up bringing. May God continue to Bless you and your family!
I think old people like you should make a living for kicking younger ones to pursue their ideas, cause your kicks wouldn't be nice kicks I guess and the tone and all would be gold to our ears, and I think we need this, old people are put aside and that isn't good, all their knowledge of life is lost.
Well Done! I, myself, after working as a GC for 20+ years, am now haing to reinvent myself. So this inspires me, even at my age (59) and i hope it inspires the younger folks trying to make it. Well done!!
Me too. Retiring in February 24. 40yrs Union Sheetmetal Worker, 57yrs young. Setting up wood shop now. Going to incorporate metal and wood. excited, can't wait to get started. Good luck all!
You are VERY fortunate to have such supportive parents that believed in you even though they thought the product was not viable. No way my parents would have been shipping product at 3am for me. Give them a big hug. Larry
People have to see the success in you before they jump on board. Many businesses fail so a bank won't even give you a business loan until you've been in business for awhile and demonstrated that potential. Seems like the parents here used the same mindset and didn't fully embrace the idea until they saw it taking off.

damb dude... I am not a big commenter and stuff, but this almost made me cry mannn... What an inspiring story. Glad to see that some things do work out when you go for it. Big ups to you and your family and friends who are pretty much family now. This video is exactly what I needed to see in my journey as a woodworker.

Man, the way your family dove head first into this w you is absolutely incredible stuff and reminded me a lot of my family. I also love how you barely slid in the aspect of customer service being time consuming. As a biz owner (Especially in the age of the internet review), customer service eats my time up like nothing else. That said, the way a leader in the company responds to customers will tell you a lot. It is by far the best predictor of whether they will be around a long time or not (IMO). Godspeed to you and your family!

@@tompotter8748 it's definitely not the implication LOL he literally says, and I quote "with whatever money I had left" literally meaning the leftover money from his original total. He does not say I went back using my new profits after making "the first couple boards" lmao

Great story. I dabble in woodworking as a side hustle and hope it progresses to enable me to retire early. Your story is very inspiring. I really like that you guys went into detail about the late nights and all hands on deck situations to keep your dream alive. People need to see that it takes sacrifices to build a business and this story showcases that. I’ve told quite a few people to watch this video. Thank you!
I'm not normally someone that comments on videos, but I have to say, you are truly inspiring! I watched your video last night, and I woke up this morning thinking about it. Not sure if it was because it was so grounded, or the family support aspect (which is awesome by the way), or the way you still have people in the team from way back when it started, but it connected. I'm a viewer from over on the UK, I served in the Military for 23years, I have a family, and I am also 'that guy' which keeps pushing things, has an 'idea' that will work, but doesn't get huge. To see your video, to see how it all started, to see how humble you were thinking it was just luck, that hit home with me (obviously not luck, we can give luck credit too much sometimes, it was hard work and dedication). I just wanted to say thank you, the video was so very inspiring, and as 54yr old man, I will keep trying, keep pushing those ideas, and keep hoping ................... because, like you've shown, you never know what's around that corner, but you will never find out if that door stays closed. Well made documentary covering the growing pains of bringing an ideal into mass production. I have a degree in manufacturing engineering, minor in business management, and worked at a carpenter shop to put myself through college. Congratulations on your success. You have a wonderfully supportive family & team as well as determination and grit. They will take you far. I would recommend the books "The Toyota Way" & "Nail it Then Scale it". Thank you for sharing your journey!
Totaly brilliant captivating wonderful story / video. To me it is "Docking station -The Movie". I just LOVE that moment at 12:42 where the docking stations are being flicked thro' really fast to find a particular one of them. This documentary is just wonderful.
Your story is an inspiration Ryan ! Your determination , hard work and focus are great examples to all ! 👏 And such terrific family and friends to support you !
The most important thing you said in this entire video was “Treat people good”. That is the key to your success. And remember, If you’re not living on the edge, you’re taking up too much space! Yours is a great story. God Bless!
Ryan so proud of your successes thus far. I remember you as a young teen full of confidence even at that age so glad you have the amazing support team you have backing you. Well done young man
This is a very heartwarming story and really cool because I live in Sheridan. I really admire this young man and his family. I loved the part about the sleeping sander. That guy is awesome.
Of course there are those who would say “you didn’t build that!” Like HELL YOU DIDNT! You’re an inspiration my brother. You built (and are building) something very special. Good times and bad you will have the perseverance and tenacity to overcome all the obstacles. Blessings to you and your family Keep yourself focused on the one who created you.
This is an awesome storey... I love seeing people giving it a red hot go with an idea and making it work no matter what other people say. Much respect!
71YO man here. You are TOO COOL and deserve what you've built. Wonderful to see a family work together like yours. And, you know that to keep good help you've got to pay them to NOT want to move on. You've got a lot more common sense than people 5x your age. CONGRATULATIONS, Retired Sailor
Hey, Ryan. Excellent story about your "eureka" product. Thanks for sharing and hope your businesses continue to thrive and expand. It think it's great that your family jumped on board to help you succeed. I'm working on a few single product ideas myself and it's great to see others who have been able to be successful in acoomplishing their goals. Have a great day.
This was a great story, Ryan. Your parents have done a fantastic job of raising you and your siblings. Even though they may have thought you were crazy as a fox (yes, I'm showing my age!) they embraced your success and worked hard to make you even more successful! It's also cool to hear you talk about Dale Carnegie. I went to a Dale Carnegie class in 2001 for a retail company I worked for. Remembering a customer's name is something they'll remember, and can translate into continued business. Keep on keepin' on, Ryan.
Ryan, interesting documentary. Nice to know a local woodworking who is cranking it out and getting it done. Timing sometimes is everything. Good luck in the future.
Dude that's awesome. Just came across this channel. I'm 7 days a week probably 46 weeks a year. The remaining weeks are maybe 4-5 days. I'm a sole proprietor. I am constantly learning about my trade, and to be quite honest, way too involved in too many areas (landscaping). I'm doing Rennovations, Designs, Mowing, Seeding, Soil Testing and Amendments, Micro Nutrient and similar Apps, Tree Work/Felling/Climbing, Woodwork, Clearing etc... I realized, close to 90 percent of every aspect (outside of physical rest) of my life outside of physical labor these last few years is business related, whether it's speaking to customers, billing, buying, in depth research, power tool repairs and part prices, fixing, organizing or repairing shop/rig, studying plant/soil science and so on.... I continuously get scrutinized for "spending too much time" on milling, curing, rotating, and storing my pieces (as I type, I have about 200 lbs of cherry slabs behind me being weighed down to fix warping. A dozen shelves, various epoxy experiments and display pieces in the same room. Garage, neatly FILLED with cured wood. Outside of front door, outside of firewood, I have about one ton of stage 1 pieces (unmilled/full or half leads). Admittedly, I get distracted a bit too much, but nobody understands the potential. You really caught my attention when you spoke about most of the people in your life, not seeing what you see. Do I expect to be a millionaire from this? No. Will I continuously learn and work until 1 AM getting the very unforgiving mistakes and experiments in? All of the basic idiosyncrasies cf each facet of living tree to finsihed table top, learning the basic techniques while getting word out? Resounding yes. Congratulations on your success. You seem like a really good, humble person. Luck has its station, of course, but this was all you.
What an Amazing Journey you and your family have had!. Really inspiring and it's always nice to see a successful story!. Keep up all the hard work and we'll done for looking after your employees and creating a great working environment. All the best for the future - Kevin from the UK 🇬🇧 👏
What an amazing story! It’s so uplifting to hear of a success story. You are an inspiration to so many young people. I’m 61 and went into business when I was 24. I had such a passion for making it I worked 7 days a week. I didn’t have the same success that you had, but I definitely understand the driving force behind it. May God bless you and guide you in making it all come together. Be sure to protect your greatest investment…the ones who work for you. You’re truly blessed to have a family who supports you. I never had that.
Thank You so much for sharing this story. We are currently at the end of the bell curve with our main selling product of 3 years, (decrease in demand and a massive increase in competition) and now we are trying to figure out what to do next. Your story has inspired me to look for our next winning product. 🙏
I love how your family helped. I wish I had something like that. My mother would laugh at me and say things like "you'll never make it" and "you're gonna fall flat on your face and I'll just be here laughing my butt off at you" ... I've done EVEYTHING by myself without help from anyone. Most of my business' have failed but 1 or 2 have been semi successful. Keep doing what you're doing!!! keep up the good work!!!
I wish you more success. But you still didn't feed yourself or change your diapers. She still was a real mother and at least you don't have alcohol Child syndrome.
Impressive. Interesting analogy and a fortunate real-life farming experience. Smart young man. Congratulations to you. Nicely done and good luck on the next one. Thanks for sharing.
This was a super awesome and very well put together documentary. A lot of other TH-cam/ DIY’ers will include something like this in a how to video but the fact that you made it separate as it’s own story was fantastic! Bravo to you and to those that helped you build it and helped it grow along the way!
What an amazing story. Very well done. Seems as if that book you read, how to win friends and influence people, which has been given praised millions of times, really helped you during your journey. Congratulations
Man! You’re a freaking millionaire! Though not because of money, but because you have agreat family to rely upon. That makes you a billionaire. Congratulations y’all.
Loved hearing your story and like how you encourage craftspeople to become business people. Could you do a video on the following; 1) how you price your work 2) what are your preferred retail outlets or shopping platforms that you have had the best luck selling your work on. Thanks
What a great video Ryan. You have totally impressed me which is not easily done. I must be honest when you installed your Onsrud I thought you lost your mind. I had so many cabinet shop friends go out of business during the 2008 years of economic disaster. However I bought a ton of amazing equipment nice and cheap for mine. I never would of guessed Etsy was so lucrative. It looks like all of your hard work is paying off. Being able to include your family is priceless. Your such a great young man with a great family with amazing work ethic.
wow bro. Your inspiring. I've only been woodworking a few years. Im 46. and sometimes I wonder if I'm starting too late. I think the answer is, it's never too late. But how amazing to do this at your age. Your an inspiration. Thank you!
Congratulations! I love to see someone go with his dream and become a success. Maybe a little of this was luck, but you worked for this. Even reading How To Influence People is something most people don't do. You looked for resources for success and found them. Amazing.
Rarely watch stories like this, but very glad I saw yours. First off, as a fellow Texan, d@mn proud of you! I LOVED the picture of the red and rust Doberman wearing hearing protection!! Made me really miss mine from the years before I joined the Navy. But also made me laugh at how many times I've heard people say that's a terrible idea when I tell someone an idea of mine that I think might be good. I just always look at them and say "it only takes 1 'pet rock' and who thought that would sell?". And you found yours before you got out of college. CONGRATULATIONS and keep going!!! Oh, and I'll offer this as a combat-wounded disabled veteran (and as an Aggie, you already know this), the military and veteran community would probably be another good market for you. Just sayin'.
Loved this. Loved your point on focusing on what is in front of you. (milking the cow) Thanks for sharing. Great story. Great to see family work and rally together like this.
This very inspirational!!! I don't have a CNC, all I have is a 10W laser engraver/cutter. But I have a lot of products I could produce with that. This video gave me the confidence to take that leap of faith and really do something! Thank you so much!!!! I probably won't have as much financial success at first, but now I know I just need to believe and go for it. Best wishes for continued success. Is nice to see a young man with a dream being successful.
I'm sure I'm late the party, but this is the best video I have seen in many years. Love the story here, and as a Dad myself I am so proud of this young man!
It’s amazing how something so simple, can be so much work, and so big of a life changing product. Keep up the great work. I look forward to your next big thing!
Bravo bravo bravo ! Commendable in most innocent way . Joyful facial expressions on your parents is heartwarming worthy of your industriousness coupled with infectious enthusiasm. Success defined by the closeness of your family . Wish you well on your journey , aloha !
My hat is off to you buddy, you deserve it. I'm 52 yrs old and I wish I have done my ideas at your age. Keep riding that wave cause I don't see that wave ending for you!
Hello. I don’t know you or your family BUT, being a 58 year old man and having raised 2 Beautiful children I can tell that you are the REAL DEAL. And the PRIDE that I see in your parents for you, of how you have grown and matured is REAL. So I am so proud of you and your family. OBVIOUSLY loving and supporting each other through this journey is what I’m sure EVERY parent including myself wants for their kids. It seems that you have a lot of respect and appreciation for your Parents. In my opinion there is nothing more that a parent wants for their children is SUCCESS. NOT only financially, but also seeing their children growing up to be RESPECTED and admired in the community that they raised you in. As a parent who has given up a lot to support and protect and provide both emotional and financially for my children it’s very clear to me that your parents have done the same for you. The love and respect and graduate you have for your parents is obvious as well. So PLEASE don’t ever forget that, and don’t ever stop telling them how grateful you are to them for all the hours they have spent helping you grow physically, and EMOTIONALLY through this journey. I am very confident in saying it wasn’t always happy. It is VERY clear to me after seeing this video that you have a good heart and a good head on your shoulders and the money has not changed you . I say that because, as you stated in video you just keep putting money back into the company, where a LOT of people your age would have probably blew it on fast cars and good times. Just don’t ever stop reminding yourself where you started from and who has been there the whole time helping and supporting you through thick and thin. Sorry for long comment but I just had to tell you that you are an inspiration , and I am so happy for you and your family. Take care and never forget where you come from.
Very inspiring story and well deserved success, congrats Ryan. Almost have enough for my own CNC saved up, probably by the end of the summer I'll be in on the CNC bandwagon. 👍
Your storey and the support from family and friends is inspiring. Congratulations for pushing through, being productive, putting your money and love where it was needed. Im sure you had some very down days and wondered what the hell you were doing but all forward thinkers I beleive have those moment of self doubt. Keep going and find the next product. Find product that give happiness to others. like your "Manstand" does. I hope you grow your business so as your family, friends and workers have a fulfilling job and income for life.
Very inspiring .. I too have been a woodworker. I'm trying to rack my brain to come up with an idea. For a product that will take off ...So hats off to you and good luck !!!
Great story sir... and you sure have a great family.... a lot of people do not ... probably one of the big reasons you are so successful.... Great stuff!!!
15:15 What is also known as imposter syndrome. I think many of us go through this. I know I have and still do. Your family is amazing. Love the fact that you were able to let your dad quit his job.
16:45, What an encouraging story, and yes, you're a woodworker!!! I laughed so hard seeing the Donkey dressed up as if he/she was helping out like everyone in the family was. I subbed and clicked all. I know there are so many people making and selling items made on a CNC Router, but I think there's room for one more, me!!! In the beginning I'll probably buy some files and work on a few Idea's of my own. Thanks for sharing this amazing story. May God Bless you & your family as well as your dedicated employees.
Congratulations! What a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing it and most of all remaining humble. I started doing word work in a little over a year ago and absolutely love it. I wished I would have started years ago.❤
Wow, what a great story. An impressive young man. And a great family. I wish him much continued success. I was surprised (and glad) to hear that his product was not immediately copied and undercut by mercenary competitors. Great little documentary!
Youve got amazing parents that have instilled in you a tremendous work ethic. And that work ethic is the reason why you are as successful as you are. I hope you thank them everyday for your drive and the success you've had.

Yours is a great story. God Bless!
Thank you so much! Living on the edge is something I would not have any other way.
So happy to see a family come together to achieve greatness. You are all inspiring. God Bless!
Thank you! You too!
You have just exemplified "living a life of service to others". Thank you.
That’s awesome! I am getting some stuff into splashway with Frio. I used to date a girl in Sublime haha
Now that was beautiful! Every now and again TH-cam recommends a gem and that was one of them. Keep grinding man love your motivation
I appreciate that!
All of you is one of the best examples of honored and blessed family guys. I am proud of you!
Of course there are those who would say “you didn’t build that!”
Like HELL YOU DIDNT!
You’re an inspiration my brother.
You built (and are building) something very special. Good times and bad you will have the perseverance and tenacity to overcome all the obstacles.
Blessings to you and your family
Keep yourself focused on the one who created you.
You are so fortunate to have such a supportive family and friends.
CONGRATULATIONS,
Retired Sailor
Great success story. I love that the whole family is doing it together.
Thanks so much!
Amazing. Your first video is what got me into CNC, this one puts it in high resolution. Great story and great result, inspirational.
This is a truly inspirational story and one I hope one day I be telling for myself.
What you call luck is just the positive momentum resulting from your inspired, focused path. Take the credit man, it was all you
Ryan, interesting documentary. Nice to know a local woodworking who is cranking it out and getting it done. Timing sometimes is everything. Good luck in the future.
Thanks 👍
Your parents are gems! Take care of them, and bravo
I am blown away with your story. Amazing! Congratulations to you and your parents who did you good
Thank you so much!
Whatever about the woodworking you’ve got a wonderful mom and dad 👍
Impressive. Interesting analogy and a fortunate real-life farming experience. Smart young man. Congratulations to you. Nicely done and good luck on the next one. Thanks for sharing.
This guy has a great attitude and work ethic and a great supportive family. That and the idea was a good one as well.
Fantastic story. You have exceptional parents who supported you despite not “getting” it. You’re a lucky man.
Couldn't agree more!
This was a super awesome and very well put together documentary. A lot of other TH-cam/ DIY’ers will include something like this in a how to video but the fact that you made it separate as it’s own story was fantastic! Bravo to you and to those that helped you build it and helped it grow along the way!
Thank you! 😊
This was wildly inspiring Ryan, thanks for sharing. Love seeing someone so kind and humble see such great success 👏🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is such a great story, you have such a great family to help. Congrats
Thank you so much!
Super inspirational. Way to go. You are a good son and entrepreneur.
I appreciate that! My Parents raised me to work my tail off!
Could you do a video on the following;
1) how you price your work
2) what are your preferred retail outlets or shopping platforms that you have had the best luck selling your work on.
Thanks
Great idea!
Thank you so much!
Great story! Blessed to have great family support! Living American dream! Made in USA!!
Loved this. Loved your point on focusing on what is in front of you. (milking the cow) Thanks for sharing. Great story. Great to see family work and rally together like this.
Thank you! I really appreciate your comment.
What a wonderful story! A real family business story,.. loved all of it,... bless you !!
Congratulations Ryan, you deserve all the success you have.
That is awesome!
This is a most marvellous story well done all of you!
I'm sure I'm late the party, but this is the best video I have seen in many years. Love the story here, and as a Dad myself I am so proud of this young man!
Thank you!
It’s amazing how something so simple, can be so much work, and so big of a life changing product. Keep up the great work. I look forward to your next big thing!
Thank you! Will do!
I appreciate that!
Dude, you are my role model. Always keep that humility. Very well done~
You got a good heart my friend
Thank you
Very inspiring story and well deserved success, congrats Ryan.
What a great story. thanks for sharing a lot of people need to see that the most important thing you can do is "Just Do It"
Very inspiring ..
I’m so inspired by your story, congratulations on your success🎉Enjoy it with your family!!
What an awesome story Ryan! Great product, great people, all the best to you and your family!
Thanks so much!
What an amazing story
Really enjoyed this. Thank you. Perhaps this could be part of a periodic series about other business subjects in future?
Great suggestion!
So happy you made it! You have an amazing dedicated team and especially your family. Good for you buddy!
15:15 What is also known as imposter syndrome. I think many of us go through this. I know I have and still do. Your family is amazing. Love the fact that you were able to let your dad quit his job.
I spend a fair amount of every day in the imposter zone... Yet I have a similar story. No time to make a video yet.
Wonderful!
Love this story. Very inspiring and heartwarming. All the best to you and your family. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, what a great story. An impressive young man. And a great family. I wish him much continued success. I was surprised (and glad) to hear that his product was not immediately copied and undercut by mercenary competitors. Great little documentary!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Youve got amazing parents that have instilled in you a tremendous work ethic. And that work ethic is the reason why you are as successful as you are. I hope you thank them everyday for your drive and the success you've had.
Love the story. Even more that your family's involved!!
Great story - impressed with your effort, dedication, and Aggie ingenuity. Gig'em!
Whoop! We do not lie, cheat, steal or tolerate those who do! ‘19
Great story, Ryan and family! I'm twice your age, but am inspired by your innate skill and drive. Keep on rockin'!
I appreciate that!
What a great story of family, love, and business. Inspiring
What an incredible story. Great job young man.
