I know your artistic name is Underbelly, but I love to think it actually is "Wonderbelly" 😆
Haha, that's sweet but just creepy enough that I believe you're sincere
@@GizzyDillespee oh yeah, I am being sincere 😅
Chundersmelly
Wowzerbelly
I wish my therapist would apply the same approach that you do. She could greet me every week by saying, "You SUCK at life!" :D
This video came just in time , you’re the best man , I’ll forever think of the Taco Bell farts when I make poly rhythms
I've been waiting for this video
You can stop waiting now
Thanks, I've been struggling to understand polyrhythms at a more advanced level.
Have you tried phish yet XD
Take their song mound... This is the intro
4 bars of 6/8 with the accent on 4
1 bar of 3/8 with the accent on 2.
1 bar of 6/8 accent on 4
1 bar of 3/8 accent on 2
3 bars of 6/8 accent on 5
1 bar of 3/4 accent on 3
1 bar of 6/8 accent on 5
1 bar of 3/4 accent on 3
3 bars of 6/8 accent on 6
1 bar of 3/8 no accent
1 bar of 6/8 accent on 1 and 6
Then goes into some crazy polyrhythms with the chorus appropriately saying "time, time, for the last rewind."
Some people say it's simple modulation/moving the snare. Others think it's genius... Also Fishman(drummer) changes it up like every timw they play.
Props to Underbelly, as it's been a while since I've really be interested in music.
Making complex music is one thing, making complex music people want to listen to is the art.
This will change my EDM productions forever, seems like a weird mashup at the beginning, but this seems kinda the future
Yea you may be showing signs of turning into IDM artist; don't fear, though. IDM is rockin
One of the funniest Comedians/Music teachers I know!
When you called one of the grooves a “chalupa groove” I lost it 😂🤣
This was so good you’ve gotta do a part two
dude... your videos and instruction are so much better then everything else out there.
This is great! I don't see people talking about this topic very often and it is so useful. i'm blown away.
I like the sense of humor of this channel, it's great and the tutorials are very informative, easy to understand.
awesome that you dropped this i love polyrhythm and polymeter
Best tutorial channel on whole TH-cam 😂❤️❤️❤️
This made my day!
Nobody teaches like you bro😊
Amazing!
So grateful. In less than 3 minutes and I’m comprehending this lesson.
Wow! Thank u
Probably my fav of yours
dope video man keep at it thank you
You the best man
Freekin funny. Greetings from South-Africa. Wowzers, people follow you here too.
Watched with CC on. “Ok so jacket”
Good video . Keep it up .
Now all my friends and think I'm smart and handsome, thank you Underbelly!
your a good teach. i would go for underbelly's music theory course.
Awesome explanation! I'm going to have to try some different fart patterns.
Tysm
thank you grand sensei
Entertaining. Informative. Engaging.
7:03 Cheat-Code 😋
Insane
good simple explanation. now a lot of people will try these things lol (good or bad?)
Wowzers
Good vid
hilarious and well explained
It actually has a jazz mood to the music. Sounds are different but its definitely a jazz vibe. Maybe soft r and b.
polyrhythm is life. polyrhythm is love.
Just like modern jazz without the suspect tuning.
You don't like the non-4/4 tunings?
@@GizzyDillespee You mean 440? Lol
That's a nice damn song. I feel like it keeps the math from gnawing on my brain, and lets me just enjoy.
Cant wait to make my next song 23/sqrt6
Could you please analyze maraudas songs and how he creates his poly rhythms?
Crunchy supreme wraps with sqwueelers over the top! Lmao 👊🤣👍
Underbelly: and you suck at producing
Me: .... dammit
Oh cheeeeeeesus!
Yoo can you please consider making a tutorial on the chords on your song performative?
Underbelly: Try writing in a time signature you haven't used before.
Me: I dunno man I've written a "free time" piece in what basically amounted to 43/16 and 7/8 polymeter, "haven't used before" is gonna make for a pretty obscure time.
Hi I just came to say I love Floral and you should go listen to them. Long live mathrock, long live Undernelly
💯💯
fart analogy is da shit 😅😆
Big man Underbelly, I was wondering why you would opt for writing 8/4 bars instead of dividing it into 2 4/4 bars? Big thank.
The musical idea was 8 beats long, not 4 beats repeated.
Is this the beer fart sound that you (Underbelly) made during the Recreating you favorite sounds live stream?
You owe me a new keyboard i just spilled it while you made me die laughing with nacho fries. RIP mr Keyboard
whats the song at the beginning when the actual video starts at 55 seconds
Sometimes... people ask me... ''What's your spirit animal like?''
I telll them it's like you, Underbelly.
You're my spirit animal.
time signatures in the complex domain >
🎧🎤
taco bell sample pack when?
Das
good farts! Gonna try it
First
Beware Adam Neely
You this beat is gassy.
i came when he said i suck at producing
O K socheckit 😂
numbers scare me, so im just thinking like "how can i add surprising and slightly unexpected farts to my trusty 4/4 kick?"
I only make Music in 4/4 🇩🇰
(4 + 3i) / 4 is very COMPLEX time signature
Am I actually first?
why do you have hair in videos but barely any in your streams?
Who the fuck is T A Mahr? Is he related to Bill Mahr?
Unusual time signatures and polyrhythms… lame music magic tricks that have been stunting musical careers since the 60’s!
13/8 means “hello obscurity”
Like that noname band, Genesis with their Turn it on again song ;)
Haha what a coincidence! I just made a 13/8 track today! Does that mean I'm some kind of theory nerd haha?
@@simcax6087 note how you had to go back 42 years to support your “argument”.
@@noble_rosethorn calling yourself a “game composer” cemented the nerd factor rather neatly, i would think.
@@unkatom lol just doing my branding!
