Main pros for me are ability to deadlift without scraping shins and knees and the more compact size fits better in my home gym compared to a 7ft olympic bar.
Holy shitz. I never realized you could reverse the hex bar to make it a low bar. I've been doing hex bars for ages but never turned the bar upside down. Thank you!!!!
Lower grips , there is a reason the handles are elevated. If you use the lower handles it has alot more leverage over your wrists , and if you slightly grip in the wrong place its hard to keep it stable. Ultimately if you want the bar lower - just stand on something!
Great video. My office gym has a rack but the barbell is broken. But there is a legit hex bar, so wanted to find out how to implement big compound movements with just the hex bar. This was perfect.
Literally two nights ago I was thinking about hex bar variations since I gave my straight bar away to the homie. This isn't the first time that Marc makes a video about shit I'm pondering. Always on point bro, much appreciated!
WOW thank you for this. I am just starting walking for the first time in five years being in a wheelchair and I can’t run or walk so this is perfect for me. Thank you very much from Columbus Ohio.
Nice video. I just bought a trap bar for my home gym and wondered what other exercises were possible outside shrugs and trapbar deadlifts. Great info, thanks! 👍
LEGS = Trap bar deadlift (Qauds) Trap bar Romanian deadlift, stiff leg (Hamstrings) Trap bar rotating lunges (abductors) Trap bar calf raises (calves) Trap bar jumps (soleus, Achilles) BACK = Trap bar bent over rows (Lats) Trap bar power shrugs (Traps) Trap bar bow down (Erectors) Trap bar high rowing (Scapula) Trap Bar High Pull, From hang (Traps, shoulders) SIDES = Trap bar torso rotations ( Obliques # ) Trap bar scapula rotation (rotator cuff) Trap bar holding neck rotations ( NECK # ) WHOLE BODY = Trap bar rack pull (Whole body) Trap bar Farmer's walk (whole body) Trap bar hold stand ( Isometric # ) (whole body) all "" PULL "" movements for Quad, hams, calf, Lats, traps, lower-back erectors. # is not known to many people.
Thanks for the ideas brother👊🏻 I learned at least a couple that I hadn’t thought of. It’s also appreciated that you explained different muscle targeting based on different grip choice bro.
Awesome Mark, I have Rogue trap bar and how many bodybuilder have hernias, mine is a Umbilical but very small and doctor wasn't concerned, can I still use bar?
Not convinced about the overhead press for safety in case you unexpectedly need to dump the weight due to injury in which case dumbells would be better.
My gosh, you are FINE. By the way, the video is very informative. I just secured the hexbar for my clients. Thus far, , they are loving it. I informed them that us ladies can engage this apparatus...without intimidation. Thanks for the tutorial!
I don't like doing a shoulder press SURROUNDED by a heavily-weighted hex bar. In a forward or backward unintentional momentum shift, freeing yourself from the ENCLOSURE can be difficult and dangerous.
The thing I've had to get over with doing less traditional moves with equipment to work other areas is being at the gym and doing and if your not super fit people assume you have no idea how to use the equipment as opposed to I may just be using it for something else, meanwhile a jacked guy does it and they're like wow bro he must be top tier 🤣🤣 like please go tf away
i don't think that the lower grip makes it more quad dominant! The only change is in the range of motion. Every weight movement below waist is more deadlift (hip dominant) than squat (knee dominant). let me say that i just want to discuss it... i'm not saying that you are wrong!! :)
My 13yo son just got me one today for my bday. Saves his money 🥹. We just did DL's. But now i gotta try some of those presses and rows! Thanks!!!!!
I really like doing shrugs with it. After all they don't call it a trap bar for nothing ;)
Ba dum tssss
For shrugs best equipment ever....
I love Hex Bar. Even for deadlifts, rows, pendlay, farmer's walk.
Farmers walk is so amazing! It has improved my grip strength phenomenally and my posture is on point. Hexbar FTW 🙌
You are the first person I have came across to explain the lower and upper grips. Thanks!
🙌

Hadn’t tried doing rows with my hex bar yet. Thanks for another quality video Marc!
me neither this is one great tool for that
I can honestly say I learned something new. Always deadlifts but gonna try the Romanian thing and shoulder press next time with it 👍
Awesome!
My old trainer used to have me do the hex bar deadlift superset by a farmers walk down and back.
Lower grips , there is a reason the handles are elevated. If you use the lower handles it has alot more leverage over your wrists , and if you slightly grip in the wrong place its hard to keep it stable. Ultimately if you want the bar lower - just stand on something!
I do the hex bar over head press. I love it. It’s a nice variation for over head movements.
This bar gets sooo much hate, but it’s very versatile. 🤙
I just ordered one from titan fitness. looking forward to using it
That bar is sick 🤩
Love my hex bar

just received my new Rogue trap bar and solid workout for deadlift/sumo squat without spotter.
WOW thank you for this. I am just starting walking for the first time in five years being in a wheelchair and I can’t run or walk so this is perfect for me. Thank you very much from Columbus Ohio.

I have a double handled hex bar but I've always deadlifted with it, with the exact same posture as with a barbell DL. only with neutral grip.
I am going online right now to buy one of those bars, Thank You for your knowledge!!
I am buying that exact bar. Since I tried with the bar and it hurt my back since my form is not perfect, so I am buying this one.
That was one of the best I’ve seen man. No cap!! 👍👍great job and ty!✊🏽✊🏽will do this.
Excellent video. Subbed. Ty.
Thanks for the ideas brother👊🏻 I learned at least a couple that I hadn’t thought of. It’s also appreciated that you explained different muscle targeting based on different grip choice bro.
Thanks
No problem
Super helpful video. Thanks bro!
Saw Eric bugenhagen do rows with the hex bar
I put it on my squat rack and lay under it at an angle and do pullups. I have even benched with it.
This was very informative! I am going to try these in the gym tomorrow.
Thanks for the video, picked up one of these for deadlifts, wanted to see what else could do with it.
dude you're awesome im gonna buy one for sure now
Great presentation sir.
This was a good efficient video
thank you for the upload boss
Great vid Sir!!
thenx bro ✌
Good video
Thanks
Just discovered trap bar rows...holy shit. My back lit up like never before.
Yay
Is it possible to do Bulgarian split squats with the open end trap bar? That would be awesome
Yes!
Awesome Mark, I have Rogue trap bar and how many bodybuilder have hernias, mine is a Umbilical but very small and doctor wasn't concerned, can I still use bar?
Great video man, stay motivated !! I’m getting mine today
This video is money 💯
Not convinced about the overhead press for safety in case you unexpectedly need to dump the weight due to injury in which case dumbells would be better.
You can just pick it up
Any reason you didn't mention just shrugs? The wide grip appears to be ideal for the trapezius fiber orientation.
Ripped hammies 🔥
Viking press attachment next :)
Wait... how would we put weight on the hex bar shoulder press? Any ideas?
Add it then have a buddy help lift it to the squat rack level
Thanks Bro Cheeers
Appreciated the tips
No problem!
How do you get a hex bar, with plates on it, into position on a rack?
Lift it up there!
Some trap bars are meant to be rackable if ur willing to pay more. Best bang for buck is prolly the Titan Hex Bar V2.
Trapbar deadlift is just a deadlift without the hussle of having to spend 1000 hours of getting your form right.
02:35 - I understood that you are not supposed to lock your knees. Is that not correct?
The RDL form wasn't quite perfect. No use to keep going down after your hip can't go back anymore because then the back gets into it.
Dude is a little tight across the upper back but he way more built than me!
WHICH IS BETTER CLOSE OR OPEN HEX BAR?! IM PLANNING TO BUY ONE PLS
What open ended trap bar is that?
My gosh, you are FINE. By the way, the video is very informative. I just secured the hexbar for my clients. Thus far, , they are loving it. I informed them that us ladies can engage this apparatus...without intimidation. Thanks for the tutorial!
🙏🙏
Nice love it🇵🇭
Subscribed 👍
Bro that’s a nice Denali
Does the overhead press hit the side delts as well?
What is the name of the company who makes the black bar around 1:28 in the video?
I don't like doing a shoulder press SURROUNDED by a heavily-weighted hex bar.

Who makes the chrome hex bar you’re using?
How aggressive are the knurls?
does it matter if the taller handles are a little bent?
Thank uuuuuuu
My pleasure!
Which trap bar is that?
Me at home....trying this without any weights lol....and still struggling. 🥵
Become stronger
What is the weight and length of the trap bar.
Length will be available online, weight is 55lbs
Hey! Great video. ALL your small grips are sold out! :/
Yo bro u missed one, hex bar bench press.

Hey man, love the insight!!
MAKE GAINS GREAT AGAIN!
Those chicken calf's though
😅
Looks a little low for an RDL
Rumor has it this guy told his wife her services were no longer needed because he had the hex bar.
Correct
I would not recommend doing shoulder presses with a hex bar guys. It can be pretty dangerous
Why slam the weights tho
My gym
Your legs are not the same size bro but you still ripped
Weird or what
Not safe to be locking legs at the knees like that!
Why can I only deadlift 130 pound but I can lift my 270 pound husband off the ground 😅😅😅I don’t get it
How many reps can you do
lifting in socks?!
Throw it in a trash can and use a regular barbell instead. This is just silly.
