Tjena, grym video! Since I live in Sweden, this content is really useful to me. Tackar :)! If there is anything I can help out with just let me know. Glad that the video gave some input. The drive modes as such are not that complex, I would however assume that most drivers stick it in Hybrid and that's it.
@@Themazcorner the interesting thing is what difference it makes sticking it in adaptive, and then ALWAYS entering gps coordinates, as opposed to just going hybrid. Keep the videos coming, real interested in seeing what goodies you are going to deck it out with!
Good stuff, have one on order ~4 months of waiting... During test drive I managed 48km electric, 50% highway (100kmh), 50% city (50-70kmh), some sprints to test out the sport & extra boost (at least 4 times 0..100), with around 3-4c outside, strong winds and pretty intense rain. On 18" rims & M-Sport pack. So all in all, expect it to hit easily 65+km electric range in the summer.
Thank! congrats on the car (the wait is hard). I got mine quickly though. Ordered 4 of Nov and got the car beginning of December :D. When driving the car other than the Electric mode the actual KM/Miles on battery will increase due to the regen. On pure electric the reached KM/Miles on battery is not as high so to speak (don't know if that makes sense)
Really informative, thank you. I have a 330e m sport plus on order for delivery in April, making some serious benifit in kind savings compared to my 430! Only 10% from April 6th.
Hello! Here is driver from Finland writing. I am also worried about ICe engine in wintertime. If you floor it , then gasoline engine will start.. it is cold brick in january. I dont like idea at all.. There is also defa pre-heater for these cars, but then you need 2 wires. 1 for charging, and 1 for heating. Not so good thing. Cabin heating with battery power is nice option, but it does not resolve that ice cold gasoline engine problem.
Yes I have the same "fear" what I usually have been done (rare occassions), If I know I will do a trip where the E is not enough I will start the car in Sport/extraboost (so it does not shut down) and drive it on ICE, one way or both ways
Hi Mazman, on very cold days does the petrol engine start itself to get it to or near operating temperature? I ask as Hyundai plug in hybrids do this. I tried asking BMW technical support but their reply was very vague and didn't answer my question. Thanks.
It has not happened in my car. Unless of course the battery runs out or I am in e.g hybrid mode. But the engine has never started as such while driving in pure electric mode just to heat it up.
Hi Mazman...the 58.7km e-range is amazing, especially with AC turned on and all the other electrics as well, especially in 4 degrees outside. What is your average in these days? I mean once you get 58.7, but what is the usual you can do when you go purely on e-mode and not testing the xtra boost function? :-) Thank you
I have not driven car that much lately. On my daily commute I am more or less always getting 50KM but that has only been during the winter period. I know of a fellow Swede he managed 62km yesterday but he was out just ot maximize the range :)
@@Themazcorner yeah I just saw the post in the facebook group - 62km is very impressive!! Getting closer to the GTE range :-D now the decision will be more difficult
Can you also cool the car in hot temperatures? And about heating the car before driving, can you please tell me pre heating the car when driving home from work and you’re not charging the car at work, I’m more concerned about heating and cooling before driving and would you have gone for a 330i? Thanks
via the connected app you can heat and cool the car depending on the outside temp. However you cannot set the temperature via the app(not yet) it will pre-condition to the last setting in the car with regards to the temperature. You can pre-heat/cool without charging it however you need t have charge left as the heating is done through the batteries. I have not yet tested the cooling function as it is still cold here in Sweden. But either will eat a bit into the range if you are not charging at the same time. For my driving habit the 330e is the one I would go for any day of the week.
I believe the 330e has an electrically driven A/C. It runs not matter whether on all electric mode, hybrid, or sport, with no transition when switching modes. If you have it on, it just stays on. This is unlike ICE cars that have that annoying auto start/stop, in where the A/C turns off and on as the engine turns off and on. As long as there is juice in the edrive battery, the engine alternator does not power the A/C regardless of what drive mode you are in. When the edrive battery gets too low, then the engine alternator (electrically) powers edrive battery which then powers the A/C. Hope that makes sense.
@@Themazcorner Thanks. One of the important feature of the car its the Electric Battery and to charge the vehicle to 100% every day to consume less gas, maybe implies a lost in the battery (batery degradation) after months/years, so the efficiency is less after years of the electric baterry. Its one of my concerns. I´m going to get a 330e Luxury in Germany 2n hand with Full Equiped.
Thank you for the video. I have one and when I charge by the 3 pin I get 30 klm at full charge. As in what the klm is stating when fully charged on the app. I would be interested to know does yours say higher in that state please? Thanks Frank
glad you liked the video. It depends from day to day what the indicator on the app shows. I have seen anything from 30-ish to 50-ish on the app, most of it I believe it measures based on the previous driving. Once I saw 58 on the app however that dropped down quicklu when I started driving.

I have unfortunately not driven the S60 T8. I have driven the S90 T8 with the air suspension and 21" wheels etc. The S90 was deifnately not a dynamic car to drive. How's the overall fuel economy like in hybrid only mode? If the 330e would come to my country, charging stations are not very common. Impressive electric range in this video :)
The electric range is indeed good with the type of driving I do. In the hybrid mode it depends on the speed and where you are going. If the destination is set on the GPS then it sometimes starts the ICE to have some electric range for your start stops etc. There is also something called battery control which I did not mention in the video that controls how much battery that should be left when you reach your destination. I have set mine to fully use the charge to maximise the electric side of things. It's difficult to say a given fuel economy as it depends on the situation. However the ICE once up to speed it is quite efficient I did the same drive as usual today only on ICE and I was sitting around 5L/100km. At say around 100km/h on a straight road the consumption is somewhere 0.45-0.5l/10KM which is good. You can always install a charge box at home :)
Electricity is not that expensive here (yet). In comparison 1L of 95-octane is about 16 SEK. Electricity is about 1.2-1.5sek per KWH For me if I would have been averaging 0.6l/10km that would be around 48SEK, full charge is roughly about 17SEK.

So even in electric mode the car will start combustion engine under speed of 140km/h (automatically even when you don't want it). This is fake, not full electric mode. I don't want to start a cold engine at high RPM. Such a car that does what it wants is pointless. Simply it should get max from electric even if i press gas to the floor. I am in EV mode and do not want to fire up combustion engine. So this is not what i expect. I do not want to start combustion engine in pure electric under 140 km/h. It should stay pure electric even during kick down. Combustion engine should work only in hybrid mode and sport mode. Only when you want that.
I will have to try this again but it has happened to me a couple of times. However anytime you would be running out of charge the car will switch over to the combustion enging irregardless of the speed. But I agree
