I remember meeting Mary Knisely back in 1985. She had the prettiest smile. She was a strong at the longer distances but by then I think she was over the hump of her running career.

      I believe I do have the 1996 1500m race. I'll post it when I get a chance.

i believe she ran the 5000m then; if u have any of her indoor races from the 1980's that'd be great....would love to see her WR from 1980 the 1500m

I'm not sure what difference it makes. Olympics or otherwise.

Love this! Whatever happened to Vickie? She looks like Angelina jolie. Great runners and race

Mary is the GOAT, a healthy Mary can't be beat, Btw, her daughter has grown to be a very intelligent business woman.

"a healthy Mary can't be beat". Sure, did you watch the 88 Olympics, LOL! Was totally healthy and finished close to last in both her finals.

@@tylerbam7183 in 1982 Decker-Tabb set six world records, at distances ranging from the mile run to 10,000 meters. She received the James E. Sullivan Award as the top amateur athlete in the United States. You once said she never set a WR. She did win both the 15 and 3K @ the 88 Trials, and 4:02 in the 88 Games is not too shabby for 30 year old, plz stop the bashing!

@@mstrunn That is nice, and it still has nothing to do with my question. If a healthy Decker can't be beat, why at the Olympics weeks after this was she totally healthy and still way back in the pack in the finals of both the 1500 and 3000? Destroyed in both by athletes like Dorovskih and Paula Ivan.

Did Mary work as a trainer after retirement ? Did her daughter become a champion like her ?

@@tylerbam7183 in 1984 was a bad lock while in 1988 she was too old to win, it is very simple answer b
