- Tibetan Spaniels are known for their alarm calls. Sammy Davis will give out his alarm call whenever his owner leaves (separation anxiety). The alarm call sounds like the animal is in extreme pain, but it is just the equivalent of a strange howl

My Tibetan spaniel, Lou Dog, has been my life partner for 12 years. He most certainly sings to his own tune -- much the same as your dog. Tibbies are the best-kept secret of the canine world, love my Lou Dog!!

Oh wow. my doggie had this same yodel (as I call it) 🤣 She only did when she was in the backyard ready to come back in from a potty break. Our vet thought she was a Pekingese / Pomeranian mix. Her face had the black Peke markings but her ears, tail and even the way the fur on the back of the neck flows was exactly like the Tibetan Spaniels I've seen.
My tibbie does this when he’s left home alone and continues to wail like this for a little while to tell me how upset he is with me that I left him! Poor little fella
Mine used to do this whenever I call his name repeatedly. Watching this reminded me of him so much, thanks for sharing!

Yup sounds like a Tibetan!! I have to deal with this every morning when the postman comes

My dog is a little screamer like this. But only when he's very excited or very sad. But always keeps me alerted (especially when there's food delivered.)
I own a tibbie myself, and I don't think he's ever sounded like that before xD

Sammy looks just like my Oliver. We lost him last October at the age of 12. He suffered from seizures. Thank you for sharing. I miss him ❤
Yep, as a tibetan owner, that is the sound they make. My first 2 didn't do it at all. Then, I got a lil girl so sweet you would never imagine could make such a sound! Now, they ALL join in. I'm laying next to my boy now, bern watching all sorts, only thing that made him raise his head? This.
My tibby daughter named Lilly doesnt do this and I never knew they did! Shes quite a barker and will sometimes do a little howl when I'm walking too slow to get her dinner or cuddle her when I get home.
My tibbie sounds just like this haha ❤️ they really are the sweetest dogs, so much personality

my tibetan spaniel doesn't make that sound it makes like a sqeaking sound. it's probably because he's 4 months old or something so he's pretty young and he's kind of TERRIFYING sometimes

He sounds lonely. They need two if you are away at work. I always had two so they had company and gave them at least a 30 minute walk each day to exercise their love of smelling the world.
@@conniewinslow755 We have two as well. One's pure, one's crossed with a poodle. They really do NEED a companion. They're miserable alone.
@@conniewinslow755 good advice, but I don't think this dog is lonely just from the video. His owner is right there and he's just alerting to something going on outside.
My tibbie makes the same noise as your tibbie except for the howl. Thank goodness.
Mine doesn't make this noise she hardly ever barks in us we're playing

My Tibetaanse spaniel makes that noice when he has to be locked up in his cage to sleep cuz he has been 6 months in a pet shop cuz no on wanted him BUT hes so nice so i dont understand that. I feel bad for the other siblings of my dog ;( i hope they all get a loving home
Please don't buy a puppy from a pet store again. Pet stores all buy their puppies from puppy mills. Buy directly from a hobby breeder instead.

This is natural behavior for the breed since ancient times, and I hope you're not really saying you would hit a small sensitive breed of dog.
Shouldn't get a tibetan then, they're bred to be alarm dogs, they would sit on walls of forts and call out any strangers approaching
Best you don't get one then...
