Traxxas 1/7 UDR First Bash On 3s & 4s

- Took the Traxxas UDR out for the first bash. Ran 3s for a little bit but the truck is big and I needed a little more power and speed so I put a 4s lipo in the Traxxas UDR. The 4s power was very good and this rig can take a good hit lol so far anyways. Thank you all so very much for watching and please be sure to check out the links below.

@@GastonMaqueda that comment I was more of a shot at a traxxas vehicle not being able to take 6s for very long without something breaking. I personally have no experience with li-fe bats but lipos are great. I heard that the li-fe bats aren't quite as powerful and they are inconsistent with run times. A bonus to li-fe bats is that they won't catch on fire if they go flying out of your rc and I don't think you can overcharge them to the point of explosion. Hope that helps.

I'm using Life bats in my TRX4 and goes fantastic. I use 3S ones. Very happy with them
Im agree about this model with 6S Lipos. Seems like cant handle that speed without breaks and other issues.
I really want to include this one in my "garage". And Im trying to find a a way to make it slower.
Life Batteries are less powerfull. Maybe with my bats the speed goes down enough.
Or maybe setting the gas trigger in my transmiter. Something like 70%

I'm No longer a Traxxas fan. But that truck was meant for your bash spot. Before the Baja series turned to pavement, they lived in the ungroomed, Baja California Peninsula. Your spot is scale! Lol...To funny to hear you get right into it. Loved it!...Oh an as far the tire's go, well their bang on for the scale effect. Baja trucks in the desert drift , slide and get squarely. Brother that's the RC experience that truck deliverers ;)...Funny to Watch what others have done to this truck on TH-cam. Upgrading it to 8S. Doing speed runs. Launching it like a Tekno MT410 just turn around and say its as brittle as glass. I just have to laugh right at them. That's not what a baja truck is for! It's not a kit. You don't upgrade it. It's not a monster truck. You dont bash it. This truck is at home on a BMX track or trail....Hilarious how many people buy RTR and "upgrade" them to something completely different then what they where intended for. Just buy a kit! Some high speed rough terrain straight line shots would be nice to show the diversity of its suspension. Not really a rig setup to hit big doubles
Hey gary, nice bash I had to check twice when I read 3s lol. Cool vid but I know probably unpopular opinion but I don't get the whole scale thing... I'd rather go for something less scale but more durable. Just my opinion. Anyways I'll keep watching. As always keep on kickin ass! Any news on the raffle?

Awesome truck bro..hey off topic what weights do you run in your tekno mt410...I have a 1900kv tekin t8 and tekin gen 3 esc,44th hardened steel center spur..but I'm wondering since I'm gonna complete this kit asap when I get another soldering setup..if I should just run the oil weights that came stock..all I have left is like the shocks and electronics that's where I stopped building it cause it was missing a few pieces from the plastic shock tree...anyways warmer weather I want to get this ready...
Mine is all stock other then a steel spur and the wheelie bar bumper. I'm running Hobbywing Quickrun 150amp ESC and a Xerun 2200Kv motor

I shot about 15 minutes on my 4500 4s pack and still had power left. I would say 18 to 20 minutes at least on a 5000 pack

UDR action that’s what I’m talking about! 3s? U need 6s what is meant in it! U know that trucks not suppose to be ran on 3s, I have only ran 6s in mine! I like the power,it deserves to be ripped with fill power! N also I recommend the paddle tires I love them on it it’s a beast!

Does running it on a single 3s harm the esc (as it's designed for 4s-6s)? I only ask as running it on a single 3s at half power would be the perfect way to teach my wife how to drive my UDR.

Looks like it’s a good rig so far 👌🏽 traxxas was smart going with a trophy truck because the body does a great job protecting the drivetrain in a rollover. Definitely looks like it needs a little weight in the back to even it out in the air. I’ve used tire weights in the past and it works pretty good
