    I have the 18x56. They are excellent. My only gripe is that the bino case is to short. Once the top flap is stretched over the top it leaves about an inch gap that lets in water and debris. I’m sure it works for all the shorter versions well. Wish they would provide a proper harness that actually fits the product. On the other hand I never take my spotter to field since I purchased these.

    I like the 12x50 and just use my trekking poles with the quick sticks connectors as a stable base.

    I recently bought the 18x56 UHD's on sale at a great price.
    I can hand hold them well enough for a quick identification on a bird but struggle a bit to make out letters on a sign at long range.
    It's better to let the 18x56 float some while briefly using them instead of holding too long fighting the high magnification; it works pretty well and I don't plan to use them on a tripod for now.
    The glass seems very brilliant to my eyes, virtually on par with my Zeiss Victory HT 10x42 and Swarovski 10x50.

    I want a 10x binocular but having a hard time deciding 10x42 or 10x50. I hunt out west. Will be my chest binoculars along with using them on a tripod. If you had to choose one, which would it be?

    I would love to hear Cody Nelson and Omer Hrbinic talk about optics.
    Just finished listening to a podcast called “seeing through the b*llsh!t” and basically how any glass manufacturer other than Leica, Steiner or Swaro, are REALLY, not the quality they claim to be.
    I have multiple vortex products and love every single one of them. Cody is knowledgeable and personally, I find any optic that you can use to hunt with clarity, is great in the back country. That’s just me though.

    I have heard nothing but praise for the Razor UHD line? Even though I’m a dyed in the wool Swarovski and Zeiss fan, I’m really tempted by the Razor?

    Cody is the man! Definitely knows his optic! 👍🏻😃 I highly recommend razor lineup for binoculars. 10x42s uhd are awesome!
    I’m not knocking Swarovski or Zeiss but for the dollar value the uhds are totally an excellent value; I do have some zeiss rifle scopes and love them too. I don’t feel like I’m missing out from an ocular aspect by spending another $2k for Swarovskis. Don’t get me wrong; respectfully buy the best glass you can but for me the value and my eyes love love love the uhd lineup. I highly recommend. I have a set of 12x50s and 10x42s.
    So true, you will either be a spotting scope guy or bino tripod guy. I fell into that trap. Bought a spotting scope and didn’t like it. Get a smaller bino for glassing and also a bigger set to tripod for long distances. Save you a lot of money in the future. Spotting scopes are expensive and one eye use can fatigue more. JMO. Hope this helps. I know guys are “gearing up” for elk and mule deer seasons.
    Also, bow hunters. Get 8x42 or 10x42. You might spot elk but spot and stalk isn’t gonna be three miles away, usually. Spotting scopes are for rifle hunters. Save your money or spend it on something else. Hope this helps. 👍🏻😃

    Would the 18x56 fit in a standard large Bino harness? Marsupial or mystery ranch ideally

      Hi Jordan! Cody Nelson here: Both brands are great! You can't go wrong with either. We do recommend the large for the 18x56s.

    Do you feel like the UHD competes with true alpha glass or is that still another category

    • @aarons307
      @aarons307 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Though a nice glass, the UHD is not an alpha glass. I found the resolution dropped off in a UHD 10x50 after 300 or 400 yds when comparing to a Swarovski 10x50. The clarity throughout the depth of field was not as good in the UHD than the Swaro was. Everyone's eyes are different though, so you have to try them all when shopping.

    The interesting thing is that the light transmission on the HD is almost the same as the UHD even though it has AK prisms. I wonder why that is.

    Have the 12s UHD. Love them. Had an itch for 8s so bought the viper hds due to budget. 8s are indeed a game changer on tri pod due to FOV. Love em both. Cant wait to pass vipers down to daughter and get some UHD 8s and eventually some SWAROS. Good luck this coming season.

    For the money I’d stick with Razor HD lineup. With the exception of the better glass pack my eyes really don’t tell the difference between my HD 10x42 and the UHD 10x42.

  • @richardkramer1094

    When I was shopping for a new set of binoculars I skipped over the Vortex line simply because they are just too bulky and big. I went with a set of Leupold BX-5 Santium HD 12x50 because they fit in my Sitka bino chest harness easily. I can mount them on a tripod or use them handheld without a problem and as far as I’m concerned those Leupolds do everything I ask of them. My spotter is a Sightron 20-50x80 and has the best glass on the market as do all my Sightron rifle scopes. I have looked through a lot of glass in my 62 years and I find Sightron and Leupold to be some of the best on the market. I do have a Vortex rifle scope but it is sitting in the shelf because it wasn’t worth the money I paid for it and it doesn’t do the job it was intended for.

    People who are buying $1500 binoculars aren’t using the vortex provided chest harness imo they obviously want really good stuff which the vortex case is not

  • @ajbehne5434
    @ajbehne5434 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do not get these binos!.. I got a pair of 10x 50’s and you won’t be able to go anywhere with out having to find them and put them in the truck. You’ll also never be able to buy another pair of binoculars. So unless you want the best pair of binoculars you’ll ever own and never want to buy cheap optics ever again don’t buy these!

    One thing I want to add day by day Vortex UHD s raising their products price but the material and quality is remain the same
