Sting - 'Synchronicity 2', Live in Oslo, 1993

- Sting's touring band for the 'Ten Summoners Tales' 93 tour performing what I think is possibly the best live version Sting has done of 'Synchronicity 2' - even better than The Police did it! Vinnie Colaiuta plays a ferocious, driving drum part and as ever, keeps it tasteful without pointless overplaying 'just because he can'. He even gets away with the double-bass bit at the end without the accusation of adding too many notes to a four-and-a-half minute pop song!

Goddam, this is such a banger version of the song. Love it!
Best version!!!! incredible!!!! claps!!! Vinnie, best drummer ever
Guys, no need to compare Vinnie to Steward, both remarkable drummers, each of them with an own style and drive! Great tour, well remembered!
Szeretem ezt a profizmust ,amikor hallgatlak mérhetetlenül szabadnak könnyűnek érzem magam.Köszönöm.
Wow, this was an amazing concert! Best version of this song I've heard! :)
❤
Amazing version....fulltone with power straight drumline....
I went to a POLICE concert back in the day. I think I had this on cassette. IT WAS AWESOME!!!
The ending was stank face all the way! Vinnie! What a monstrosity of a performance!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤯
Absolutely stunning version. THANK YOU.
not a version is the song original
@EarthFMEnterprises
For millions of drummers around the world Vinnie is simply, 'God' and is untouchable!
I concur, what a drummer.

Amazing Sting and Vinnie!!! Thanks for posting dr drum.
love the steal your face on the guitar....same band he had on tour with the Grateful Dead
Nobody ever understands Stings lyrics and I pretty sure he just makes the sounds his lyrics sound like.
Love it so much ..... !!!
kicking version
4:23 He holds on to the snare. :)
love this! :D but "Englishman in New York" was the highlight of the show.
Sono sincronizzatissima
This is the one song ive seen Sting mess up at least twice. Ive seen at least 4 videos of him live messing this up, the Rio version, this version, and the fenway park version
Nice.
@manpiano09 yup...saw this in Cincinnati. Dada band opened.
Quarantined alone with the din on my Rice Krispies!?!?
Impressive.
Can anyone tell us who the band members are here?
One of the greatest songs ever written. And this arrangement just blows me away. The Miyazaki perfomance is slightly better though ...
I didnt hear that performance but I'd really love to do it, this oslo version is mind blowing. link of the miyazaki version please please
@TheIdleMan123 -- hey there... I've been trying to find this concert online to order but am having no luck... what's the title of video you have? Would love to order a copy from a site!
@Kobeownzu81
Just as well as Vinnie....err I don't think so!
@ferrari934
Hmmm....matter of personal opinion really.
The only person who can truly pass judgement on this would be Sting.
@EarthFMEnterprises
Get into your flack shelter, I can feel you are about to be bombarded by the VC fan club...
Until of course, Sting hires me to play with him...
NO! I didn't say that - seriously only joking!!!!!!
It must have been this dream I had, along with about 1,000,000 other drummers on the planet....
Dominic lo hace tan bien o mejor que Andy (perdón Andy Summers 🎸)
Siendo sincero, con Andy tiene un toque más personal, en especial este tema, el cual el sello fue Andy
Hehe... Copeland made his mark with the Police. That's true. But comparing him to the most versatile player on the planet is pretty laughable. This is brilliant!
Vinnie plays this song ignoring all the accents and the dynamics....he's better off playing Non Police stuff...
Interesting and energetic version. But nothing compares to the original. No backing vocals or keys needed.
if only dominic had half the creativity of andy summers.
Vinny!
