I had an issue with my steering being weak & sometimes taking a few turns of the wheel before it would start to work. Issue was with the steering cylinder. There was a bad batch on my year tractor.
Thanks for the video and information. Mine has been slowly failing for a couple years and is now just about worthless. I was going to remove it and have it rebuilt but now I will go in a different direction. You just saved me hours!!
I am trying to replace the steering cylinder on my BX 2200. I can only remove one tie rod bolt from the end of the piston. Is there a special tool that holds the piston locked so that you can use a wrench to remove the other tie rod? There is a notch at the end of the piston for some kind of tool.
What if the steering wheel is really hard to turn even when it’s jacked up in the front.the steering wheel moves the wheels but gives a lot of resistance even when jacked up and I can also turn the wheels with my hand slightly without the wheel moving. The tractor is good on hydraulic fluid ,so I know that’s not the issue, maybe it’s the steering box?
@@CallMeColtLLC it feels like it’s struggling hydraulically, I already checked the linkage. Also, when I press the clutch in while it’s running it goes back to being easy to turn.

Glad it was helpful, thanks for watching. Consider a Super Thanks to help the channel out and make the video easier for others to find!
Thank you.
You're welcome!

No special tool. It just sucks! Use heat... that's what I had to do.
Replying to a very old post: I couldn't get mine to break either....so i welded the #$@% the shaft to a chunk of angle iron. Was a snap from there. :)
There is flat side of the rod. You hold it with a wrench to keep it from turning.

My guess would be something in the steering linkage, yes. If the tractor isn't struggling hydraulicly.

Ill take your old cylinder
It has been sold long ago, I'm sorry.
