    I was experiencing same intermittent hard start issues. Cleaned and oiled the plunger on the silinoid and problem solved.

      It will come back, I would replace it soon. Usually if it's sticking, it means that the solenoid is just getting weak and near the end of its service life. Good solenoids usually have a 50,000 cycle life.

    Excellent advice! I’ll be back if I have any more questions.
    If your fuel tank runs almost empty you’ll likely have water in your fuel system and you’ll have to purge the system like Colt says about opening the valve and cracking the injector lines. Change the filters and run a shot of injector cleaner in it.
    If you’re engine is puffing white smoke while you’re cranking it’s water.

      White smoke isn't always water. Thanks for watching!

    thanks for the video. A quick squirt with WD40 on the fuel solenoid and all is good again!

    The shut-off solenoid from Kubota is over $100, but if you pull the boots off, clean the gunk off the shaft, blow out the dirt, spray a bit of dry lubricant in, it will work perfectly. It is also important to set the solenoid so the arm rests solidly on the set screw. The boots rot, and I haven't figured out a replacement, because I am not spending $100 if the solenoid works. I also posted a similar video: th-cam.com/video/YUtJ4fw62b8/w-d-xo.html

      Lubrication will not last. Solenoids have a life expectancy. Usually 50,000 cycles for a quality one. For $100, I'd rather not fight with it and basically not worry about it for another 15 years. Just my choice!

      @@CallMeColtLLC So you are saying if the fuel shut-off solenoid was cycled on/off once a day, EVERY day, it would only last 137 years? or, 10x/day EVERY day, it only lasts 13.7 years. I suppose you do need a new one. Mine is still working at 3,018 hours, just had to blow the dust out twice because the covers rotted off.

      @@CallMeColtLLC Interesting too, the electric fuel pump is a solenoid, and it pumps rapidly every minute of operation, but they seem to last 15 years with clean fuel? At least my neighbor's B2200 electric fuel pump is still original back to when he bought it used from a golf course .... 14 years ago?

      @CallMeColtLLC  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ya472 The electric fuel pump is lubricated by the fuel and is cooled by it as well. Not sure exactly how it works so I can't speak to that. A solenoid had an expected life... expected. Some are more, some are less. Some people just replace them to avoid the hassle it may cause down the road like me. Other want to save money & clean it like you. Great! My tractor is old and I don't want it dead in the field. I have plenty of projects to keep me busy, try not to add to them! :)

      No, I made it myself. The rubber part was made by a company that I don't think is in business anymore. :(

    Like the tractor; however, just not good (at all) in snowy Canadian climates. Always have issues with freezing up fuel filters, lines and hard starts even with diesel fuel treatments. Seems your always dealing with the same crap when your neighbor's Solis tractor and other lower brand makers never have those types of issues. Both my neighbors bought lower priced tractors and paid close to 12,000.00 Canadian less than my Kubota with much better performance; especially in colder winter climates. You can pay more for the orange carrot or the green giant but it really doesn't mean your getting something better.

  • @nocoolname32

    a lot of these are lack of fuel yes? mine has a puff of black smoke on cold start or warm start (too much fuel?), just a puff and then gone. what would be my first place to look for an easy fix?

    • @CallMeColtLLC
      @CallMeColtLLC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Every mechanical diesel will puff black smoke at start up as it's burning the extra fuel that's injected and unburnt during cranking. You're good as long as it's running okay otherwise!
