This is classic!!! The Gatlin Brothers rock, and I never heard them sing with the sister, Great harmonies that only family can have. I sing with my sister and we blend so effortless. Great stuff, thanks for posting.
Sadly I don't think country music will ever be as good and real as it was in those days. I wore out the jukebox back then with people like The Gatlins, Hank Jr. ,Conway....so many. Lot of good memories and beer. : )
I am a LONG time GBs fan and I NEVER knew they had a sister that performed with them. What a video gem! She sings the part that Larry has been known to overdub on studio recordings.....adding that high 4th harmony part. Very Cool thank you for posting!!!
Believe it or not LaDonna the sister was actually at one of my choir performances shes in a grpup thing for the town. she lives in a little town called mineral wells. its here in texas. it was really cool meeting her. she said our choir group was amazin
Ladonna Gatlin Johnson was a part of "Dallas Holm & Praise" (CCM group) for several years. She was married to the group's piano player Tim Johnson. If you can find the album "Dallas Holm & Praise LIVE" (I see it listed on iTunes as "Dallas Holm (Live) [Remastered]"), she sings a solo called "Thank You Jesus"
i love the Gatling brothers, oak ridge boys, and the Statelier brothers now that's old country music and including con way t witty, George Jones, Tammy, and Loretta and Barbara Mandrell. Crystal Gale,
I don,t know where you come up with these great old clips Clyde. Ladonna left her brothers shortly after this became a big hit and Larry won a grammy for this song. Thanks, Clyde
@anchovysardine his sister, LaDonna got married and left the music business early in their career, back in the 1970s. She is now a motivational speaker based in Dallas, Texas. have to say, she adds a whole nother level of depth to the harmonies on this song, for sure!
