    Why?

    • @TurbosmartHQ
      @TurbosmartHQ ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The primary function of a blow-off valve or bypass valve is contorlling controlling compressor surge, therfore increasing the longevity of the turbocharger. Also, the plastic factory bypass valve can become prone to leaking boost over time with use. Our valves are all contructed from full billet aluminum and offer improvements in overall repsonse and boost handling. This is especially important if you plan to tune or increase the boost on your vehicle. The sound is merely a byproduct of pressurized air being released when the valve functions.

    Is it, only for the "Sound", the Reason that you changed out the stock unit? Why would you want to be rev'ing up your motor to hear a pressure releasing valve, releasing air? The air brakes on my RV do that too!

    This is the worst mod ever. Every time you hear a blow-off, you know you just wasted all your boost. Now you have to spend time and fuel to build boost again. The factory diverted valve keeps the boost circulating and ready to work when you need it. It's like honking every time you take your foot off the throttle to get attention and throw some $$ out on the back window.

    • @TurbosmartHQ
      @TurbosmartHQ ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Hi there...the short answer here is WITH a bypass valve, the air is no longer pressurerized when released and then recirculated. Once released, it is at atmospheric pressure again (just like the rest of the air in the intake) and therefore the exact same amount of "time" and "effort" is needed. So whether its released to atmosphere (like with this valve) or recirculated (like the OE facotry valve) its the same process when it comes to building boost in the system. Manufacturers of turbo vehicles typically go with a bypass valve, primairly for the quiet operation and emissions regulations. Hope that make sense 👍
