The key to getting rid of fatty liver is not vitamin, but dietary change IMO. I had NAFL where my ALT was at a high level confirmed with an ultrasound. Once I cut back my carb and sugar intake, it fixed the issue and blood test after that brought it back to normal. What did me in was the false assumption that fruit smoothies and drinking Gatorade was good for me. I drank too much fruit smoothies (loaded with fructose) and on top of that drinking tons of orange Gatorade after my workout (also loaded with sugar)….the key in preventing having a fatty liver is not cutting down on fat consumption, but cutting down on your carb and sugary fruits/drinks consumption. Very simple to fix!

    • @RapidHealthYT
      @RapidHealthYT 2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

fruit smoothies are loaded with sugar. only drink those in moderation. great you have resolved your issue.

I stop drinking fruit smoothies, cut down all sugar, carbs and alcohol/beer (loaded with carbs). Eating saturated fat is not the issue, but food, drinks and fruits high in fructose/glucose is the main culprit. Make sure you eliminate that, and eat lots of leafy greens, eggs, grass-fed read meat, and cruciferous veggies (broccoli), as it will help heal your liver. Make sure you exercise also. NAFLD is definitely reversible if you don’t let it get too far, and like diabetes type 2, it is a disease caused by what you eat or put in your body!

What can i say another great video, a guy at my job as this condition and a huge pot belly, i tried to help him so many times, worst my job now gives away free stuff like chips, candy, chocolat, all junk, lots of employee complain to have healthier choices. even one of the fridge is packed with free soft drinks can you imagine, i feel we are going backward.
Personally i avoid that table and bring my own lunch, i don't go low carb because i still train at 50 and need healthy carbs but i made some good dietary changes added some sugar free shredded wheats in almond milk, cottage cheese, organic meats, rye bread.
I am fasting around 14-16h a day and eating a healthier diet and it shows i feel a lot better.

Wonderful information here. I think I may have damaged my liver with too much Naproxen.
    You didn't mention this
specific pain killer in your video, but I am sure it had some effect. This was quite some yime ago and since then I have been
doing 17/7 intermittent fasting. Also eliminated rice, rice bread and crackers and all starchy vegs for awhile during healing and weight loss. I will reintroduce some veggies and wild rice only very carefully when my body is ready.
    Thank you for this video today 💜 💗 💕 💖 💛 💓 💜 ❤
Hello, it is now 4 months later since I made this comment.
I have now lost 23 pounds over 6 months and feel better.
I have upped my fasting to 18/6 and have been taking milk thistle and being extremely disciplined with good fats and zero grains, seed oils and sugar and high glycemic fruits. My favorite dairy items are organic full fat cottage cheese and cream and grass fed butter. I cannot find any information information on the toxic effect of painkillers on the liver. Do I need to take bile salts?
    Thanks ❤

Ryan Taylor is so helpful. His method of teaching is all-encompassing in a way that most people can understand and retain. Then, later, it is easy to apply when a person is shopping for their supplements and foods. I manage a vitamin department in one of the best health food stores. And always recommend Ryan Taylor's TH-cam videos to my customers. They always come back with an immense amount of knowledge to make better choices buying their supplements.

One essential requirement, of vitamin D{preferably 3}/K2, is the fact that ingestion of vitamin D, over 5000ui will remove calcium into the bloodstream, which can cause plaquing: not good. The K2 will remove the calcium from the blood, back into the bone. The ratio mentioned is a good comparative measure 👍

Ryan, thanks for all the videos you make for us. I am particularly interested in fatty liver because my son was recently diagnosed with Wilson's disease which is a condition where too much copper accumulates in the body causing fatty liver. You only get Wilson's if both parents have the mutated gene. My body has whispered for many years that I need to take care of my liver but until now I have ignored the whisperings and I am now 69 years old. If you know anything about Wilson's disease beyond diet and supplements please share with me and I hope that people reading this comment will look into Wilson's if they have fatty liver.

I recently found out from my gallstones attack and ultrasound that I have gall stones 1.3cm. No gallbladder wall thickening. Biliary tree is normal. CBD 6mm. No biliary obstruction. Diffuse fatty infiltration of the liver and pancreas. The doctor in ER and my family doctor did not gave me any suggestions about diet and life style changes to dissolve the stones and heal the liver and pancreas but suggested surgery to remove the gallbladder. My question is should I take TUDCA to flush the gallbladder stones as I heal the liver? I started my diet with cruciferous vegetables, one lemon and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. I cut out sugar, dairy, bread and pasta. I do take supplements - multivitamin, Calcium with D3, Omega 3 and Lutein for my eyes. I will also start the milk thistle supplement tomorrow. I also, concerned if all these supplements will further stress and harm my liver. Please respond with your direction I should take. Thank you very much for your informative videos and looking forward for your kind response.

I don't know if you are a medical doctor, (which you're probably not, based on the description style of your piece) but, as a medical doctor I have to commend you for making an excellent vid on fatty liver, it's causes and remedial measures, to reverse one.
The thing that stands out, is your enumeration of the physiology of liver function and the signs of fatty liver and cirrhosis!
But the dose of Vitamin D3 you mentioned; 20000 units a day, is too high. The recommended intake for an adult is, 50000 I.U a week. The rest is brilliant. Congratulations on your work. I subscribed to your channel.
N acetyl cysteine also detoxifies the liver.

Do you mean 5,000 units of Vitamin D3? I had a fatty liver but at 74 years of age, diabetic since age 44 reversed fatty liver (verified by a Fibroscan). I used 10,000 D3 coupled with 100 units of Vitamin K2 MK7 along with the Keto diet. And, I had my gallbladder removed over 2 decades ago.

You might use different form of choline long term, for fatty liver it might not matter but the other form: "phosphatidyl choline" might be better if you want to avoid TMAO, at least according to this study: "Dietary Choline Supplements, but Not Eggs, Raise Fasting TMAO Levels in Participants with Normal Renal Function: A Randomized Clinical Trial"

When i got diagnosed with fatty liver, my doctor said to stop taking vitamins because she wanted the least amount of things going through my liver as possible, so some contradictory info.

I stopped eating sugar amongst other carbs and following a Keto diet with Intermittent fasting. To satisfy my sweet tooth, I use Allulose and Erithratol as sugar alternatives. Are these sugar alternatives bad for the liver?

Many people that have the MTHFR polymorphism are not anle to detoxify properly due to the lack of methyl groups. SAMe is one if those, but you gave to be cautious with it. Some people also gave trouble with phase I liver detox pathway, which could be too fast ir too slow. The same can happen with liver phase 2 detox which it requires a nutrient dense approach with certain aminoacids, vitamins and glutathione; or better the precursors of it like NAC.
Ryan, i like the way you organized your video, very concise, good information.

@rade VITOR NAC = N-Acetycysteine, it is an aminoacid that helps replenish glutathione. Actually, glutathione is made from 3 aminoacids: l-cysteine, glycine andhlutamine.
