I've just done a big online order of clearance yarn over in the UK because I need it for my crochet business. In business you have to grab offers when you can. If you'd bought the same yarn on offer on line no one would have queried your purchase. Nuts isn't it. I detest keyboard warriors. You keep doing what you do girl. We love to watch your progress ❤

What a great yarn haul. I do the same as for buying yarn when on sale. I don't always do it, but when i do i always buy at least 8-12 skeins of each colorway.
Start buying large reusable bags and keep them in the vehicle for such cases. I had at least 20. Never know what you find at store, antique shops, garage sales, estate sales etc. love the haul.
To all the nay say-ers, go away, the sale is NOT new, We've had the sale up here in Canada also. So move along if you don't like it. To Lily MVP!! this was awesome to watch, and I can't wait to see more. I LOVE and admire your Hustle.

To those who are so bothered by the amount of yarn she bought, you do realize that she runs a crochet business and this allows her to do so at a more affordable cost to her. Seriously....get over yourself. If the stores thought it was an issue they would limit the number of skeins that a person can buy. If you wanted that yarn then you should have gotten off your butt and gone to buy it sooner. Your issue with timing isn't her fault, not her problem. FFS, grow up!

I worked at Michaels for years and it was my responsibility to make the price changes or I should say change the labels. It came from Corporate. There were times when things would go off clearance and then back to regular price. Crazy, who knows why. So it doesn't always mean its being discontinued. And yes the doors would break down quite often Probably all the glitter in the track. Lol

I have bought about that amount of yarn, and I don't even have a business. I shop sales. You can always find patterns for the yarn you have.
For fun, checked the only store in my city and clearance also….but sold out😯. (In Canada $7.00 clearance).
That’s because someone like this bought it all.
What’s wrong with buying what the store has? The store has items for people to buy… that’s the point of a store. No one complains when they are at a market and they sell out of the products they’re selling.

When in doubt, always take one or any in question to the scanner. They don’t always mark the clearance items. I’m told that the app helps but, I’m not into apps so, I just use the check the price scanner.
I had! At the one store they weren’t on clearance and then I had the manager scan them and they weren’t getting discontinued in her scanner either or in the app yet. The next week they were all marked down.
The ones complaining about the empty shelf clearly have never worked in retail. Dont worry people, there is a warehouse at the back of the store, like every store.. where the rest of the yarn is that didnt fit on the shelf, and will be restocked on night shift, good lord 😅

I did with with my crystal at all the Marshall's in Milwaukee when the company discontinued it and Marshall's got the liquidation contract. This was back in the 80's when fine dining was still a thing. I went from having two champagne glasses and one wine glass in the wrong color to having full service for eight. I can count on one hand how many formal dinners we actually gave, but family Thanksgivings and Christmases were very special.

Michael's in Canada is like that, 1 store will have items on clearance and others won't.. even if you ask the staff they will tell you that each store marks down independently..

Oh man, that variagated yarn is a nightmare to crochet with. I'm so glad it's being discontinued hopefully they go back to upping their inventory of solids. So glad you are thrilled with your purchase though. Looks like it found a good home🥰

Each thing would be different depending on the pattern size and skein. Each skein has different yardage. Each pattern will need different yardage.
This popping up as I run out of fluffy yarn trying to decide what to do right before my first ever market tomorrow…. Oh Michaels you’ll have to see me tomorrow 😭😭

She is not being greedy! If the store wanted to limit the amount, they would. The store wants to sell the yarn. If she didn’t buy it, it might not get purchased. Even more, it is on clearance, so the store really wanted to,get rid of it. We don’t need anything more in the landfills, which is where it would end up if it weren’t all purchased.
