Every man should own a solid library with a Bible, a Dictionary and an atlas…..some books that will inspire and cussed him to aspire to greatness. Everyman should own a journal and a good pen to write down ideas or note items or experiences he needs to document or that he wants to remember

I do all the cooking (and the grocery shopping.) I inherited a Griswold cast iron frying pan from my grandmother. The thing is well over 100 years old. It’s a cherished family heirloom. Keep it clean with just water and a plastic scrub pad, put it back on the stove, heat it up on medium to evaporate the water, let it cool, wipe it down with cooking oil and it will last more than a lifetime.

A great list, especially the tools & tool box, every man should strive to know the basic workings of his home. Perhaps a book of basic household repairs/maintenance that has tasks like fixing a leaky tap, shutting off water, installing a light fixture or wall plug socket etc to stash next to the toolbox.

    Good video!
    1) owning tools and knowing how to use them are two different things. Learn to use what you have.
    2) A nice Navy blazer comes in handy for sure...I probably should go buy one one of these years.
    3) Hard to go wrong with a cast iron skillet...but keep in mind, they come with a specific way of cleaning them.
    4) I have one watch...only one watch and I wear it once every 4-5 yrs lol I'm self employed, homeowner (house paid off) and 3 vehicles paid off about to buy a 4th in full. Wearing a watch may scream responsible, just know there are some exceptions.
    5) Shades are another good accessory for guys and their functional. I can go over board a little here and owned a small collection.
    6) I would absolutely be lost without my pocket knives. I use them for everything, its like the most versatile tool! This one comes with a couple warnings though, know your state and local laws as well as how to handle a knife. And hospitals don't like their patients having them. I was hospitalized for COVID and security had to lock my knife up lol
    7) Another Item I would be lost without, my weekend bag! The weekend bag is the next best thing since sliced bread!
    8) In the past, I used to do only have one brown and one black pair of dress shoes. I don't how many I have know but its grown a lot.
    9) I'm falling short on this one. I used to have several nice doc kit bags but who knows where they are now. Better get on this soon.
    10) for sure! You spend like 8hrs a day sleeping...may as well have the best mattress you can afford.
    11) Back in my Dallas days, I had to have a closest full of suits, summer, winter, business, business casual, etc. Now days I just keep one single black suit. I'm kinda a fan of the blazer and dress jeans.
    12) I usually pickup 1-2 of the top scents from some place like Macy's. Oh man, so the last one i bought they was out of smaller bottles and I really wanted that scent. So I bought this huge bottle! Probably a life time supply lol
    13) I'm new to the whole slim wallet and I love it! Bought a couple different LV's for my suit and ended up using them every day. I'm not going back!
    14) Every guy needs 2-3 signature type dishes but sure, having a couple cook books are nice as well.
    15) Ugh, need to renew my passport. I have it all done up, just ran into a ton of problems...COVID blah.

I just thought of one. Every man should have his own dwelling and learn to be fully self-supporting. I'm not trying to be funny. Many men go from their parent's home to living with a woman, then another, and so on. Men need to learn how to live efficiently and responsibly on their own. They don't have to own it but, they should know how to sustain it. Thank you.

I switched from my Swiss arm knife to my William Henry Knife to my Tactical Pen Knife combo depending on my dress and the occasion....I have not seen any of the other style channel cover the topic yet....what do you think?????

To add to the weekend bag: try to get the matching bag and bookbag set. I got a set heres what I do 👉🏽 bookbag: holds laptop/power cords, passport, cell phone, bottle of water, etc. The bag, as stated is for the clothes. They usually allow you to have a carry on and a “lap bag” (bag that can fit on your person) on an airplane so this works. Plus, matching set definitely turns womens heads

I need to suggest...an IPAD (or an equivalent). I bought one about 5 years ago and I find it to be hands down the best money I have spent in 20 years. I'm an older guy over 60 and I find it helps me at work, home, and during leisure time. I carry it in a shoulder bag or backpack if I have a lot of stuff to carry that day. I have the web at my fingertips anytime I need to look up something or refresh my memory from my notes (in meetings before I speak). I always have instant access to books, magazines, movies, (Style OG videos😏) I have downloaded and can enjoy on the plane, in restaurants, etc. I can multi-task with it or watch TV from my home cable provider. It was a deal maker for me to stay sharp and on my game at home, at work, or out-and-about. I don't mean to promote IPADs specifically, upgrading your take-a-long personal tech keeps us older (and) younger guys on point. Once you own one you never want to be without it. Food for thought.

My brother-in-law purchased a house, and had no toolbox or any form of organized toolsets, just a cheap-o electric drill that can't even hold onto drill bits correctly. I ended up buying a kit for him, and frankly found it shocking he didn't even think of it. I live in an apartment and I'm loaded with tools, and remember thinking "are you even a man?" when I found out he has no toolkits whatsoever.
I'd say the cast iron skillet is optional; it's more of a cultural difference than anything. Asians typically don't use cast iron skillets for their cuisine, for example. A multi-use kitchenware as a general description would make more sense.

Now its time to make sure and get your self a good oldschool new material and stylish pocket knife. Kick the black on black tactical knive and look at some thing like a Péna Trapper or a small Chris Reveef sebenza with a classic wood inlay, like a bog oak. A pockit knive can be matched to your outfit aswell.

    • @kevinpace6121

Your pops probably only had to worry about flat sheets of paper and a few pens or accessories in those briefcases. These days, you can't leave the house without an iPad, laptop, cords and chargers, etc. A rigid sided briefcase with no padding or support pockets for those bulky items just ain't gonna cut it anymore.
It's not that today's man isn't what it used to be, it's that today isn't what it used to be. Adapt or go extinct.
