One of the best admirations for gaining respect, from the 48 Laws of Power is "Always say less than necessary" The more you talk, brag, complain, and boast regarding in the face of others, they will have a great disdain about you. Hence it is best to say less, be humble, and be assertive.

In my opinion, You don’t ask or buy respect, you earn it, and all starts how you present and act to society.

The Style O.G.s videos are my favorite of all other videos of others like this I have seen. Love his stuff about red flags where he says one or two are OK and to not seek perfection since you aren't perfect is great. I like the stuff on this video as well. I think my only possible issue if IF this video is only directed towards men which I find a bit sexist. It should apply to women as well and women should be held to the same standard. For example, he is right that you shouldn't expect a person to give you things and you not willing to give. Men and women used to be taught that. So many women today lack that for example.

Agreed! One thing I've always done is to be mindful of others, but never compromise myself to please others. When I have to speak with someone about their disrespectful behavior and it doesn't change they find out real quickly how good my cut-off game is. Great points in this video good Sir! Keep giving us that top notch content...

Brother Jeff. You're absolutely right. There are some people you have teach how to talk to you and ultimately respect you. Some of them dont realize it and others do. I had to pull aside a few people. Those that dismissed my concerns are no longer in my circle.

Good points. I had a meeting with a minority group on a particular policy I had with my organization. A community member who didn’t like the policy attended. The group didn’t know that person, and were taken aback by the questions and comments made.
After explaining was getting nowhere, I advised, this was my policy and I am not changing it. I left when my business concluded. Later, after the meeting I got a call, and was told I gained a lot of respect with the group, when I said I was not changing my policy. The group didn’t have a position on the issue, just wanted to learn more.
******** you just helped me write my upcoming speech giving my bio. Thank you.

  • @CloudyFX

I get a lot of respect from my friends. I dont wanna brag but I think im the most respected of my friend group. One think i think that help is:
    1. Not always taking credit. A example is: when you came up with a idee to give someone a gift don't tell that person it was your idee. If other people tell that person it was your idee they respect you more and probably think you do this more often.
    2. Give them advice in live or difficult situations.
    3. Do not always tell them what you up to but tell them what you did. A example: don't tell everyone you just started investing is for example stocks or crypto. Tell them after you made some money and how you did it. Give them advice if they ask for it if you know what you talking about. Its okay to say i just started i still have to learn a lot myself
    4. Be yourself and have a unique style for example. I like to wear mech from artist i like.
    5. Work on yourself (like doing meditation or work out) and share the benefits with others. don't brag about this just tell them what you did and how it made you feel. Don't force them to do it or make them belief your better because you doing these things to improve yourself.
    6. Even tho they respect you NEVER tell or try to make them belief your perfect. Let them see or know you flaws. Accept the help they offer you to fix this or try to listen to the advice they give you.
    8. Don't lie about things you not doing or tell them about fake goals your never gonna reach.
    9. Don't be a know it all. Don't command every time someone is doing something work. For example: if your painting a house with your friends don't command them on there skills. If you really want to command on them first ask why thy do it that way and after that show them how you do it and tell them the benefits of doing it that way I also like to tell them where I learned doing it that way.
    10. last but definitely not least. NEVER CHEAT IN A RELATIONSHIP. I my opinion you will lose all the respect you eared or got and have to start over if a big minus. If you wanna recover from this you have to work really really hard on your self. I you do this for a second time after its done. A lot of people or at least I will never respect you no more.

Ive been a politician all my life when meeting people. I've long time felt I should sell myself but I've also learned how too not OVERSELL vs. selling myself short. This is just a follow up for others but for me it's been the cornerstone of my personality for a long time easily. Mainly because my family indoctrinated core values and principles within me from a youngster. Now I'm 38 and I'm noticing a lot of us BLACK MEN are lacking morals and principles. To me those guys are behind the spectrum because without principles, morales and values NO SELF RESPECTING PERSON WILL RESPECT THEM AT ALL. Good video brother. It's well needed for most of us and I'm about to put some RESPECT on your Subscription button💯💪🏾

    👏👏👏👏👏👍!
    📣GREAT VIDEO!
I'm in a program where military veterans are paired as Mentors to young men in the 18-24 age group.
In the conversations we have with them the topic that gets them to really open up is the conversation about respect.
Some think it's having the nicest automobile or the latest shoes or technology.
We tell them that those things don't amount to people respecting you and that they should strive to command respect not based on what they drive, the clothes on their back or the type cellphone you talk/text on.
Respect is much like a good reputation: It can take you years to obtain it and only a few moments to lose it.
Some of our young Black males have been sadly tricked into believing that respect is something that can be purchased and if they don't have this or that, they cannot be respected.
It's our job as men who are truly about something to not just tell them but to SHOW THEM that commanding respect from others is an "inside job" meaning they have to respect themselves BEFORE anyone else will respect them.
