    im trying to avoid fusion at the moment, my right ankle is pretty wrecked, and has no dorsiflexion, one thing i do for improved ankle stability is squats on the tippy toes. You dont need to have heels planted to squat, just dont go for PB's or try to crank the weight to high.

    Good day! Thank you so much for your channel and for the video! I had a fusion 9 weeks ago. A few questions if possible. How long after the operation were you allowed to partially stand on your feet? I also had an operation on my right leg, how long did it take you to drive a car? Are you skiing mountains after surgery? Thank you!!!

    Hi there, I’ve come across your page and I would like to ask some questions. How soon after the op could you walk? How much non weight bearing recovery time did you need? How soon was it before it felt pain free? Thanks in advance. I’m due to see my surgeon about an ankle fusion after 3 ops (2 of them micro fracture) 😊

    • @anklefusionguy
      @anklefusionguy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Apologises late reply. Took about 3 or 4 months before I could walk again. Slow recovery. About 6 weeks completely non weight bearing. I think 6 months after I was pain free.

    Quick question, I have foot drop for a long time and limp a little while walk
    Doc suggested getting ankle fused and thinking about it ,
    Did you have a foot drop in the past or limp while walking?
    If yes, how it went post-op?

    • @anklefusionguy

      Hey, sorry about the delayed response to your email. I will respond shortly. I have no experience with foot drop. My injury came from a football match. I damaged my cartilage and then over time and after several operations it got worse. I couldn’t walk without severe pain in the joint so had to get ankle fusion

      Check out my video that shows the amount of movement in the ankle after fusion and it shows me walking. My advice is to take your time and listen to the advice of the doctor. Also when you are able to start to build the strength back in your leg at the gym. That has helped me be able to do more things eg skiing, cricket.
      No regrets, I couldn’t walk without crutches before the fusion due to bad damage to my cartilage. No I walk relatively pain free (it hurts a bit after 12k steps per day) and live a normal life.
