All I can think is that Angels are descending, not the angle at which they are travelling 😂😂(dyslexic so this is very funny as I'm always writing the wrong words)
It would have been something I could see players trying to abuse. For instance going where Quill wanted and taking that location, which I hoped was some defense system for the city of glass, then teleporting back to horizon and then descend again on the skiff towards the camp. It probably would have been my attempt at this encounter. That does suppose that there was another skiff to use however.
It's a game where people can cast magic and fly wooden sailing ships through space.
And your "reality" problem is falling speed and angle?
The moment I realized what HR meant to me was when Aila gave everyone a piece of her tartan as if saying they were her chosen family ❤️ just proved that friends can become family
55:40 I love how the players did that classic thing where each one picks up the other person's sentence seamlessly. Sometimes it's easy to forget it's improv.

I started watching Aerois back around Ill Winds Blow and I love this. I haven't watched this episode yet but I just need to say you guys mean so much to me. I love your characters and you as people. I feel like I know you somewhat and that is so cool. You guys have brightened up my life ever since I found you and for that I can just say thank you so much. Clear skies 😉
I rarely post a comment on these videos. But I feel like this is a worthwhile time. You guys are f*cking legends, in my eyes, and have been since Lightfall. Every one of you is a amazing roleplayer, Mark is a awe-inspiring DM, and I love every single one of you. You guys, and Critical Role, helped me continue during the lowest point of my life. This is my loving message for you guys. Love this series so much, waking up Sunday mornings on the west coast of California and waiting until 9 A.M to watch your streams is just like waking up for Saturday morning anime when I was young. Thank you all for this fantastic series when I found campaign 2: Aerois with the first 18 episodes when it had character art thumbnails (don’t know what you guys did but I miss them) and my favorite moment was Lucius naively slaughtering some innocent cows (I was slamming my desk from how hard I was laughing) and although my very first live stream wasn’t a very wholesome experience (my first time watching their stream was episode 26) I love the story so much and thank you and someday I will finish the High Rollers: Aerois Trailer but at the moment I am busy with college if you all know how busy that can be angain thank you all for these happy memories I made watching your guys’ story in this DnD world of yours that I put a lot of thought into these characters below (A LOT OF DETAILED INFORMATION COMING SOON), I will put all of the information on the High Rollers Reddit either later today or tomorow, I can’t fit all their origin stories here but I can sum up their characters it’s a lot of paragraphs, I have to finish them one by one in a few days and I put a lot of thought into it hope you all like it. I’m listening to this episode at work and I couldn’t help but do a little math for when Quill cast expeditious retreat and if he’s going 100ft in 6sec and the spell lasts 10 min then he’d travel 10,000ft! Which is just short of 2 miles~ 1mile=5,280ft
I love moments like this~ I’m loving the campaign so far! I’m almost caught up lol

Right there with you Mark, usually I laugh at the intro, didn't expect to cry right from the start this time. I don't have a heartbreaking story and don't interact with the community but I love this campaign and everything else you guys play. You're a wonderful group of people, amazing roleplayers and after all those hours listening to you I feel like I'm hanging out with friends even though we've never met in person. Absolute legends.

You guys helped me through the hardest point of my life, losing my best friend to his battle with depression. I never thought I would be able to let others back into my life again but have since joined a new online group that have helped me grow as a player and person. You're all so talented and genuine about your feelings and it translates through your characters so well that at times it's hard to separate the players from the characters. I'm not crying. 3 years of Aerois! Only started watching HR a couple of months ago, but caught up very quickly and this quickly become one of my favourite pieces of fiction.

Oh my, I am touched by the intro! I tuned in when I was searching for another Avenue for DND. I started playing 5e with my two children and their friends. My son though, moved and our game migrated online and then it stopped all together. I found another group but it wasnt the same... horrible actually. I have found a great group and I'm enjoying it tremendously. However, I still follow you guys and another American group. I listen on my long drives and while folding laundry. I am very happy to hear that you have touched so many lives in a positive way. Keep up the good work. I used to tell people who couldn't afford therapy to listen to Happy music. I’m currently still binging the whole Aerois show, and made it to this episode in about a month since episode 1. So beyond glad, and thankful that I came across this show. The way you weave stories, role play everything… awe inspiring! Good job as always, and looking forward to be caught up!
For the whole planning and descending phase I was fully expecting Nova to just dive in head first on top of an artillery, encase herself in the Tomb of Levistus and blast it to bits like a meteor.

I know this is months later to win the episode came out I'm mostly commenting from the prior episode and also such an amazing surprise for Mark. High rollers I have been watching since the beginning and unfortunately I haven't been able to donate but I will tell you your videos get me through every day of work when I'm driving you would literally make me cry laugh and everything in between I even have my own d&d game with some people and we've been doing it for 4 years The story is you can create with this game there is absolutely nothing in this world better than a bunch of nerdy people all doing something they love just so we can try to forget the world we live in and I am so grateful for everything you guys do and I cannot wait to see where you guys go keep being your genuine selfs

Blurry eyes but clear skies :-) happy 3 years for this awesome campaign! As my eyes get worse and there's less things I get to enjoy visually I thoroughly look forward to high rollers dungeons and dragons campaign content. It gives me something to look forward to even if the lights go out I can still listen and enjoy the stories along the way. Granted I can still see certain things and still get to visually enjoy it but the fact that people put in so much love and hard work to create these fantastic mental illustrations puts a great big smile on us legally blind guys face. Keep up the good work everyone much love from the usa! I might not be able to catch you guys live but I look forward to it every week :-)

Been watching since the Geek and Sundry article that recommended rpg shows for days other than Thursday. It's been excellent the whole time, my dudes. There are clear skies ahead, even in the darkest of storms.

Writing this as this was discussed. I am 100% with Tom on destroying the artillery first. If their goal is to rally the ground defense, there is nothing more demoralizing than the constant barrage of artillery fire pinning you down where you are, fearful to move or get blown up. Just by ceasing that, the troops would know things are changing on the battlefield.
Yeah I loved the episode but I think the group got to focused on the treasure bit of what Quill said and disregarded the actual tactical advantages of what he was saying,(which I think his idea was the right call). But anyway that’s how the game goes and it made sense that they did what they did! Happy 3 years!

Sentry always does everything to put herself into a bad situation without actually thinking. But I guess with that intelligence score it fits.
Angle of decent may as well not exist in Aerois if infantry fire can push a heavy skiff 2 miles in 6 seconds. How friction didn't vaporize it instantly is incredible, really. In fact it's incredible the sudden inertia shift doesn't just instantly kill everyone on board, to say nothing of the skiff losing its structural integrity.
But it's a fantasy world so I guess anything is possible. :P
Anyway it was fun, I just couldn't stop laughing at them being thrown around like a glitchy ragdoll in Skyrim.

The intro brought tears
To be honest, I was scared when aerois atarted. I had watch the entirety of Lightfall and when I watched the first episode, I missed the old campaign too much and had to stop.
When the series got to its 50th episode, I started from the beginning again. I quickly started to enjoy the adventure. The ups and downs of all the characters gave me the excitement that the original campaign gave.

Kudos to Mark for his creativity for the skiff under fire, bringing in skill checks and drama aplenty. Tom seems increasingly salty these sessions; seems to question everything, and I think Mark is pretty relaxed about having to justify and reiterate everything. Despite this, this remains the best campaign I've seen. Just excellent.

Did they say how long 1 turn in the skiff is? Because if each turn was 6 seconds long, they were travelling at 1584 metres per second horizontally.
Mark did offhandedly mention that it was very abstracted. Definitely more than six seconds, and also blah blah changing descent angle not representing actual location et cetera
