Im gunna be honest. I feel like the true war crime here is when a full warship fired its main canons at a group of 5 foot soldiers and then attempted to litterally ram a airship into them. Anything from that point was self-defense.

Hi everyone! So excited with where the story is going. Some of the moments here were so epic or could've been even more epic depending on what could've happened. Remember not to talk about what Nova did. In other news, I'm very close to mapping out the current days the Stormchasers have been together. I'm in the Valley of the Storms arc and it has been around 100 in-game days since ep. 1. Any moments I missed?

To be fair, I believe on stream Mark clarified in chat that the same kinds of things are happening on the other side of the battle as well with elite enemy forces against regular infantry.

There have been plenty of concerning titles well I have been working to catch up but I have to say this one tops the chart
I'd like to point out, killing with acid is considered a war crime, as are fire, poison and electrocution. I don't know for sure but I'm pretty sure freezing someone to death is probably one too.

I really wanted Sentry to give a speech to the ship, "Your leaders have betrayed our world and worked with Star Bane, join us, to bring back Siaska, protect Aerois, and defeat Callis for good! " That way if they said no, Lucious won't feel so guilty.
You know what, if they encounter an enemy airship, WHILE IN THE AIR, imagine Nova casts that on the deck and then the Storm Chaser just turns and flies away while the ship crashes.
The Gang Commit a DND. Somehow it pulls the deepest darkest stuff from players, and usually to pleb guards/soldiers who probably have families, lives, all that normal stuff.

Mark's failiure to remember that radius is half a circle continues to amuse me. It's primary school geometry, and it's such a big part of spell descriptions, one would have thought that he'd been corrected often enough that it would stick by this point.
I love the shock at 20 being a miss at the start. I have a lvl3 artificer with 21 AC that is still the bane of my DM's encounters (because the rest of the party is squishy and he doesn't want to kill them all by mistake).
My dm looked at my sorcerer/artificer with 22/27 ac with shield, and gifted me my own personal meteor.
This is when the DM starts targeting your saving throws :D

Don't get me wrong, I love their chaos and RP......... But really they had a job to either support the air forces or support the ground forces, and their plan consists of abandoning both of them. The Stormchasers seem like incredibly unreliable allies.
To be clear what I'm basing this on:
Mark said Horizon would take heavy casualties on it's own.
Mark said the ground forces would be overrun on their own.
So Horizon has taken heavy casualties *and* they've lost the ground forces... in exchange for one guardian. I'm not sure how they could have done worse? (short of a TPK)
Not much chance of them winning a war like this... guess it's good they decided not to fight anyway.
I think literally being blown halfway away from their destination may have had an impact on their ability to chase a coherent strategy.
@@paulmahoney7619 True, they were blown heavily off course from where they intended to land. But they plan from the beginning was to go into the city and find Herald anyway, so where they landed was actually closer to their destination.
Noticed the title for this one back at episode 34, been excited to find out what the war crime was. Honestly pretty anti climatic, 12 second death in 120' diameter sphere sounds both humane and accurate

Combat units in the Air Force are generally organized as squadrons of aircraft. Those squadrons vary widely in size-with anything from 8 to 24 aircraft being common-as well as in types of aircraft.
So, after the war, is there gonna be a Ge-Nova convention?

How would a group of guys getting hit by grenade fragments, being in intense burning pain and bleeding to death over mins to hours be less bad than 18 seconds of intense pain and death? yeah it sucked for them but they chose to side with starbane instead of their planet and they were the ones to attack first! Fuck those dudes! XD
Finally someone I agree with. I don't see anything wrong with what she did. They attacked a bunch of people on foot with a literal warship, and they lost fair and square. If killing people who are trying to kill you (and don't forget destroy an entire planet worth of innocent people for a plan that will wipe out the entire multiverse!) is a war crime, then everyone in every war is a war criminal.
So what would happen if the dm rammed but one had sentinel and pole-arm master would the ship just stop?
So many times Sentry's aura would help them in a save and they forgot about it...

It's already been said by Mark that these are not a spell but magitech lasers or ballista so the gauntlet won't work I'm pretty sure

Don't really know, but I think if you're the defender, saving yourself isn't a war crime, no matter how bad it is.
Not according to the Geneva Conventions, and Nove did use a form of psychological warfare against them. Which is a war crime. Sorry.

She can bring the feral guardian soul into the matrix and replace a fresh guardian soul into the body. She did it in a previous episode awhile back with a group of guardians watching.

I imagine the crew that died in the darkness clawed their eyes out or shoved daggers in their ears, along with whatever else, until they succumbed to death by panic/anxiety attack. Yes I know this is dark but it is what would happen and it's definitely a war crime. This is why high level wizards stay in their towers, no accidental war crimes when you lock yourself in a tower or library.

Kallus is a conqueror who through brute force and power adds thousands of worlds into his cause in the fight to Hadar and has a plan that inevitably fails however has been fighting for this cause for so long hasn't learned of another way to defeat Hadar
Nova V'Ger drops a Maddening Darkness which mentally breaks and tortures her victims and is more vicious than the Barbarian who gave her foess a merciful end

Inspired by the "Nova Bullet" I give you the "Aila Bomb". Quill casts fly on Aila. Hopefully the DM will approve a portal Aila jumps through with her 60 feet of jump with her hammer. Comes out of the portal 500 feet over the enemy adding the jump height. The team makes sure the enemy has no reactions with attacks as Alia rages for advantage to hit as she slams into the enemy with the hit from her hammer to devastate the enemy as the name from Nova's book disappears, Alia stands up over the dead body on 1 hp saying "FUCK THAT HURT".

peoples who actually know about war crimes... is this actually a war crime, if so, what does it fall under?
I don't know a lot, but I'm pretty sure the bar is significantly higher than this, even by our magicless world's standards. All they really did was the equivalent of blowing up a fully manned cruiser. War crimes are more like murdering PoWs or systematically murdering a population who can't fight back, possibly chemical warfare that kills over weeks rather than seconds.

@@mme.veronica735 This wouldn't count as either of those, though. Psych warfare is nebulous and hard to define, and it's effects are relatively small, and add up over years and decades and doesn't lead to direct death. Torture is also slow, over the matter of hours, maybe minutes if your being overly flexible with defining it. This happened in the space of 24 seconds or less, resulting in death, not trauma, which makes it barely different than any other DoT spell of equivalent level. Even then, war itself is traumatizing, causing many who come home to suffer from PTSD, so trauma is not a factor to consider when identifying war crimes. When you add the fact that magic is inherent in this world, and these types of spells are known quantities, these would likely be considered as acceptable/normal within the boundaries of warfare, the seeking of the deaths of the enemy soldiers until the leaders give up and surrender.

When given the fact that high level magic exists in Aerois, and has for its entire history, this technically wouldn't be an actual war crime. It didn't even do all that much, especially when compared to real world war crimes. This is the rough equivalent of blowing up a Heavy Carrier in the midst of an active war, so not a war crime, just business...war business.

The war crimes stuff if fun to giggle at but yeah not a war crime. They were fired upon first and even had the ship try to crash into them. That’s not a war crime at all to fight back no matter how you do it.
After the compilation of the most epic moments ever, here's the worst compilation of poor choices and utility management in the last couple of episodes. It's also soooooo disappointing to see poor Rhi so unlucky with rolls.

Exactly! If there was anyone committing a crime it's the enemy sniper aiming for healer. What Nova did was perfect
So Zeus was my last project for a new Guardian design. This one I will call Aries. Lvl 2 barbarian and lvl 18 fighter Samurai. +3 Battleaxe, short sword arm attachment that he can launch it at a enemy within 30 feet for his ranged attacked. Ring of free action, red dragon scale armor, and a stone of good luck. Feats: tough, sentinel, and great weapons master. My Head canon would be that after building Zeus they realize there was a few mistakes but not only correcting them they turn those mistakes into benefits in allowing this Guardian access to the rage abilities
