Mister Pancreas you should look into the EU4 mod Anbennar, is like dnd but with war, guns, magic, artificery and a great lore all around. (spoiler the elves had an empire that covered half of the planet ie. not america. which ended in the day of ashen skies and the survivors spend 1000 years in a fleet at sea until they reached not europe/mediterranean)
bretonia being one of the first old world factions to get re-released " cuts to pancreasnowork ... what have i done to deserve such wickedness . XD loved bretonia before there grim dark update. (old school chivalry all the way )
One interesting senario that popped into my head is what if Alarielle chooses to settle her own faction of elves in Bretonnia? There are former elven colonies there, so it isn't a bad spot to settle. Gilles le Breton declares her the living incarnation of the Lady, and the Wood Elves choosing to broadly fall under her banner as she is also Ariel. Thus we end up with a mixture of High Elves, Wood Elves and Brettonians, as a faction under Alarielle, with Alarielle probably able to make more Grail Knights, help with the Oak of Ages, and generally be a stabilizing influence. Grail Knights, + High elf magic and Infantry + Tree Spirits and Wood Elf Archers is a very scary combo. Plus a contender for stongest navy once they rebuild and mix Benettonian naval artillery and High Elf Ship design. Plus it is funny to combine Pancreas' favorite and least favorite factions as a new potential faction.
Giving wood elves cheap infantry and heavy armoured knights? I like this comment. I also feel like WE and Brets are the two most 1 dimensional factions, so combining them somewhat is interesting considering how Alarielle and Gilles are still around
I read a story called Age of Metal a while ago. It describes a world were the End Times were betan back and the setting has progressed some 250 years into the future and Chaos is beginning another invasion. But by this time the Empire has progressed to WW1 and Early 20th century levels of technology.
Warhammer 40,000 Lighttide Where you, a Chaos cultist, have to fend off the unending swarms of all these fucking Cadians holy shit we blew up their planet already why are there still so many-
I think you can justify "keeping Nagash busy". As you say, he is the sole God of death. Once the energies from the end times have died down, or Teclis has made a new vortex, Nagash is pulled into what was the Gardens of Morr and is now his domain. The chaos gods can't just manifest on the mortal plane, even when it is saturated with chaos, so bind Nagash to the same rule. I see it as similar to the Disney genie curse, unlimited power, very specific living space.
There is another way to justify Nagash being very busy. Settra getting a bit of the power the Chaos gods offered. Just a bit, like they got so desperate that even after he turned them down, then gave him some to try in one final vain effort to persuade him right as Chaos fell. Then with this sliver of Chaotic power that lacks any conditions, he gets just enough to gain his golden immortal body, then Nagash has a true rival.
You probably don't know this but in Poland people had such a riot over the end times that they started making their own new fantasy editions and models to this day
If the end times haven’t happened, the Dwarves would have certainly added another grudge in the book for not doing another dedicated dwarf episode again
The religion of Brettonia being brought into doubt causes a spur of critical thinking among the merchant middle class. The peasants revolt and overthrow the monarchy by adopting gunpowder which is readily available and looking for a market after the war machine of the Empire no longer needs it. The leader of this revolution, Notpoleon, after instituting a republic, sees the Empire as another relic of authoritarianism from a long-gone age and invades it, swiftly crushing the still recovering armies, and sets his eyes on Kislev next. The story picks up as he launches his invasion of Kislev, during the winter...
A rabble newly introduced to powder crushing superhuman knights (The closest thing to spess mehreens in the setting) and then beating an empire that's got literally hundreds of years experience with the same powder doesn't really work.
@@DIEGhostfishThem overthrowing the Knights could work by having the Wood Elves being somehow involved in the rebellion. Either directly by the Wild hunt attacking them or using their magic annulling the magic that gives the Knights their strenght.
3:05 Heyo, i'm one of the editors at 1d6chan, glad to see you mentioning us! The old 1d4chan site kicked the bucket last year, so some enterprising folks took it upon themselves to keep it alive, but this time with moderation and general oversight, given that the last host and admin practically abandoned the site for unknown reasons. So 1d6chan is more of a revival of the old page, although with much of the old content still intact.
I share the new 1d6chan site wherever I can. I like 40k's aesthetic way more but I'm with Pancreas on the fact that 40k is a lot more bland with its grimdarkness. 1d4chan made 40k fun for me. Thank you for continuing the site!
Radical idea: Zhao Ming lives, but his mind is so fucked up he starts declaring that HE is the dead dragon emperor, and because I’m a sick fuck he keeps a comatose moon empress at his side while acting like they are married. Meanwhile some sibling he has is trying to put his madness out of his misery with the monkey king. And what the hell, canonize his bromance with Gelt and have Gelt be there to help put his friend to rest
Teclis swims to the bottom of the ocean to restart the vortex. Succeeds but this revives a lot of the dead elves, essentially starting the sea elves by accident. A sort of one with the sea/grey elf faction. Both sides of elves died and were revived so it would an ocean floor filled with all colors of morality. There ends now being a huge whirlpool in the center of where ulthuan was that makes navigating the ocean much harder without asking for the new sea elves for help. Now named the Heart of Mathlaan, said god get a huge boost in power.
My headcannon for how the Skaven wouldn’t be as successful is that after the destruction of the border princes the clans go into another endless civil war over who gets the loot and who gets to rule over the new barren wastelands. Maybe Lustria still gets nuked but that would cause even more problems as now one of Pestilens biggest power bases is gone leaving them vulnerable to all the clans who hate them. The thing that always stopped the Skaven from taking over was how self interested and back stabby they were, and it felt really cheap how United and competent they were just because big daddy great horn told them to. The very second his back is turned they’d be back to knifing each other. There is no Skaven ever chosen to unite the clans, and their god can’t micromanage them like Archeon can chaos because he doesn’t even exist in their dimension.
So from my (admittedly pretty bad) understanding this is basically what happens in the Total War 2 Skaven campaign, with the protagonist rat only winning due to *actually* being the Great Horned Rat’s favored and backstabbing (throatmunching) his Grey Seer boss at the perfect time.
The success of the skaven is highly dependant on THR to put them in order and not backstab one another for once. Although I think they can still fail if thr order factions were to be given a little bit of power boost i.e. gotrek goes to skavenblight instead of middenland.
Personally, I think a civil war would break out over if the Skaven should support or fight Chaos. On the one hand, they share just about every enemy with each other, and would certainly benefit from working with them in the short them. On the other hand, I have a feeling the Chaos Gods would not be super welcoming to a new God (especially Nurgle, since the Horned God is very similar to him), and some Skaven might think it’s easier to destroy the Order races after the End Times rather than the Chaos Forces.
Yeah the idea of the Skaven uniting at all never sat well with me. Their dysfunctionality is a huge part of their appeal. It'd be more fitting (and a little bit funny) if they fell apart even after their god literally told them to cut it out.
@@cass7448 it’d be like if the Orks unified and then decided to ally with chaos against the imperium. Even then the Orks have Gazzy to rally around, the skaven just have the great horned rat who’s pretty hands off with telling his rats what to do
Kislev is simply too grimdark to simply get rolled like that. And I mean literally. They have Baba Yaga just chilling in the woods outside their castle.
I the mental image if Teclis going “Screw this, I’m out” and joining Gotrek and Felix is utterly hilarious. I can only image what Gotrek would say to his offer.
honestly teclis joining gotrek and felix to complete the man/dwarf/elf with warrior/brutal warrior/mage would be the best thing, he deserves a break from trying to fix things and an adventure with them seems nice, might figure out some things on the way too
Whatever went wrong for the skaven, it was probably a self-inflicted defeat involving betrayal and/or unreliable supertech going wrong. Maybe some of the slightly ludicrous plot involving bringing down the moon went south, and then everybody fell to infighting. Or maybe some of the skaven decided they didn't want to play second fiddle to Archaeon and betrayed him, causing chaos, confusion, and the unravelling of some of Archaeon's more important plans at a crucial moment.
There ya go, I love the second scenario. I'd say it starts another Skaven Civil War between Thanquol and Ikit Claw. With Thanquol siding with Archaron and Ikit against(perhaps even siding with the Ordertide temporarily just to add further confusion into the mix and or to steal stuff from the Empire). Ultimately ending with Archaeon catching a nuclear ICBM to the forehead, his entire army being annihilated thanks to Ikit figuring out how to make MIRVs, and Thanquol scurrying off laughing that he just pulled off his most successful scheme to date despite losing decisively, coming back later to spray his musk on Archarons now empty armor in some Skaven moral victory. Because the whole time, Thanquol actually was scheming to betray him the entire time anyway and it furthered whatever nonsense scheme the GHR had come up with. Ikit thinks it's funny and allows Thanquol to return to Skavenblight and even sit on the council(if for no other reason than to keep a closer eye on him). It allows for a return to the status quo since the Skaven will still be infighting, the Empire will continue to exist, and Chaos having to retreat to lick their wounds and try again later.
You should also make a “fixing the end times” where you try to keep the order of events somewhat (if possible) like they happened but tried to fix it by giving an honorable end to characters (i just want to see a good end for Thorgrim and a few other characters) for example, just overall making them at least bearable
I appreciate that millions of chaos forces being erased from existence is a more realistic divergence point for this hypothetical scenario to happen than "Mannfred *isn't* a complete bastard for 5 minutes". That's just completely immutable.
I know endtimes is a big salad of bad decisions, but I genuinely cannot understand the logic behind keeping Gotrek but axing Felix, having one without the other just leaves the other one missing their charm.
Endtimes happens. Khorne: “No more blood.” Tzeentch: “No more plans.” Nurgle: “No more gifts.” Slaanesh: “No more *REDACTED”* Belakor: “No more chaos.” Hashut: “No more tyranny.” Vashtorr: “No more industry.” Malaal: *double middle fingers* “EAT IT SUCKERS! I *FINALLY* WON!”

The undead segment of the video doesn't take into account power boosted Settra. If they were on equal level before, a boosted Settra could unseat Nagash and Settra could devour him instead, leading to a very different outcome than AoS.
Yeah, that right. Because unless I’m remembering things wrong, when the Chaos Gods revived Settra he was booted in power to a level beyond anything he had before. Not to mention he only can do magic despite not being born with the ability to do so is solely because of his sheer willpower and stubbornness. Who’s to say he can’t do it again with say Necromancy? If you still have to go through a catastrophic end times but Order survives, then I could see surviving dwarfs and some elves fleeing to any still standing imperial cities like Altdorf and Nuln, essentially creating a fantasy version of the Cities of Sigmar that slowly tries to reconquer the world
with the population loss triggering renaissance esc effects, the skilled elf and dwarf immigrants, and being on the verge of an industrial revolution the empire would come out of the next 200 years as the worlds sole super-power.
I like to imagine there's a city state that forms, which is a melting part of cultures like america. So you can have dwarf An elves living just blocks down from each other. You also get the possibility of half human half other things. One can only imagine the possibilities of racism with this
@@Evan-qn2cj I would imagine some of the Lizardman survivors doing something similar too. Like seeing some stragglers who didn't make it on the Pyramid ships or survivors under Lord Kroak being directed to aid the Warmbloods in order to retake Lustria or establish order.
I could see that being the main Dwarven presence in the world aside from Slayers. Those who said "Okay, it didn't go well but that's on Chaos not on the ideas being bad.", finding that the empire's remains are the most welcoming of the industrious dwarves who were thus displaced from the retreating Dwarven main society. (Potentially notes could be taken from the Eldar of all people, with Dwarves in their main society being allowed to roam to 'get it out of their system' Ranger style under the stubborn assurance they'll come back humbled.) Wood Elves convinced that they can't just sit back and try to keep people out of their forests, High and Dark elves officially done with the civil war (or what they see as a hypocritical compromise by their sides leadership) ending up in these same cities that are trying to rebuild from the mess of the end times.

Alternate history: What if Pancreas loved dwarfs instead of elves? We would probably have quite a few Do or Don't dwarf videos instead of none. (No, I'm not counting the High King)
I really like this video, particularly how your adjustments were very respectful of the Old World and keeping it recognizable. The last time I ran a campaign, the setting was in an Old World that survived the End Times, but things look pretty different. I'm my setting, nearly everything remained the same canonically except for the final battle. The forces of order still lost, but it was a loss that enabled the world to keep turning. Seeing the defeat was inevitable, Sigmar looked to the sky and saw the Twin Tailed Comet, and with great desperation, he reached out magically to bring the comet down onto the planet in a last ditch effort to smite chaos. The physical impact annihilated most of the battlefield. The magical impact banished much of the surviving Chaos. The magical feedback, enhanced by the massive sacrifice of lives, also seemingly sealing the north and south chaos rifts. But demons and magic aren't gone from the world. There's a ton of magical fallout and warpstones (the remaining warpstone in orbit actually formed a ring system around the planet, thanks skaven), so the ambient magic is still quite high. Essentially, the immaterial things are stuck on the material realm. I liked this idea because it can unify the Old World and Age of Sigmar, as Sigmar's gambit to save the world essentially brings forces of order into the warp. It isn't the core of the planet Sigmar floats through, it is the Twin Tailed Comet as the planet isn't destroyed. This let's AOS happen and the Old World to continue. For the Old World, civilization restarts in and around Athel Loren. The unified armies of order turtle up while chaos, undead, and orks distract themselves warring over the wastelands of the old human empire. My setting takes it a step towards other fantasy settings where racial conflict is less prevalent. All of these different races fought and died together, and surviving the apocalypse brought them closer together. Rivalries, bitterness, and old hated can still exist, but no one would have survived without help from old enemies. The setting is still bleak and brutal, but it just has a tiny bit of hope. Dwarfs are almost entirely extinct, but most of the remaining dwarfs are younger, so ingenuity and invention is more highly valued, kicking off a technical and runic revolution. To add some extra campiness to the setting, the dwarfs desperately need to repopulate, so it is governmentally mandated that they they bone down whenever possible, and elven alchemist have been known to help encourage this process (tldr, dwarfen viagra). The elves are generally unified again, though they recognize and respect their differences. Maybe considering themselves as cousins is more accurate. The high elves and wood elves are mostly unchanged (more to come in the woods elves, though). Dark elves who are still murderous either join armies, navies, or the wild hunt to vent they're frustrations more positively. The backstory one of my players gave me was straight up the tragic edginess of a slayer... So I let him take that job 😁. Granted, there is no elven culture of slayers, he seeks death and redemption through service, so the parallel exists. In order to curb their malicious tendencies, some elves are trying to bring more discipline to their lives, and something similar to the aeldari paths are being developed. Likewise, a massive elven carnival troupe exists to give elves something to do that isn't war while also bringing entertainment and cultural exposure to other settlements. Human settlements are populated by a variety of refugees from other areas, so you might see a town populated with descendants of Middenheim, Nuln, etc. This creates diverse pockets throughout human settlements. One city, for example, had a small district that I liked to call Little Kiskev. Halflings are thriving. They can fit in nearly everywhere humans. Strangely enough, they have found friendship with the wood elves and spirits of Athel Loren. They respect nature more than other factions, tend it well, and get rather plump... So they serve the forest well in both life and death. They also reproduce faster, and have helped bolster the army's numbers. The dinosaurs and frogs still went to space, but they didn't go far. They discovered something unexpected on the moon and are preparing to return. Unbeknownst to the forces of order, Nagash did some Harry Potter shit and split his physical and spiritual being. His duplication glitch sees him dominating in AOS and in the old world. He rules much of the old empire territories, but he is pressed on all sides by chaos forces, orks, and a rival undead faction. Isabella von Carstein survived thanks to Vlad's ring of immortality, and she has dedicated her unlife to honor her husband's sacrifice by trying to save the Empire. It's not going well, so I had plans for her to seek aid later in the story. Didn't get a chance to think about the tomb kings, but Setra's head is still rolling around. I thought about having a random loot drop be an insane talking skull that would eventually be revealed as Setra. Maybe Isabella killed a group of orks, found Setra in their loot, and are now working together. Orks are having a good time fighting other stuff. I was playing with the idea that some orks are less inclined to seek combat thanks to the chaos rifts being closed, so they turned their attention to another activity: inventing and playing Bloodbowl... which is just fighting with more steps. Since the forces of order won't put up much of a fight, I had the thought that orks would come up from the badlands to spread the good word of the game and get some matches in. Oh, I forgot this one. Despite the Twin Tailed Comet being a helpful boon, it's been traveling around space for a long, long time. Some deep space spores may have attached to it. So tyranids may or may not have come to the fantasy setting 😁. I think that summarizes all of the setting. That took way too long to write. I appreciate anyone who actually reads this. Have a good day!
Archaon did fail. He failed at middenheim where valten caved his skull in gloriously. I brought my high elves and fought in the storm of chaos, Irefuse to believe that the actions I saw there were the precursor to the death of the world
Gilles, Vlad, Settra being undead kings who escape his clutches indefinitely is hilarious. As a brettonian sympathiser, I think they should be split between empire conformists, and a sub faction that teams up with wood elves to help out in their oncoming civil war when malekith comes to steal their lands (or claim them back, either or) Gilles already shares rules and has closely linked lore with the WE, and seeing as he’s one of the elusive souls that Nagash will surely chase for tax evasion, he might decide getting in the good graces with Alarielle is a solid plan. Also, brettonian mage caste are all loyal to elves pretty much, and most grail brethren would follow Gilles. I think it would be interesting.
Literally 4 minutes in, but had to play devil's advocate; the "hundreds of millions" thing is probably also including beastmen, chaos ogres, chaos trolls, chaos spawn, daemons, centuries-old veteran chaos warriors who've been just chilling out in the deep Chaos Wastes waiting for somebody to drag them away from their private corners of hell to invade the empire, y'know, all the really fucking weird shit that comes flocking out of the literal gate of hell at Chaos' call.
As a suggestion of how The Lizardmen might theoretically rebuild to more resemble their AOS counterparts, perhaps the remaining Slan took the temple ships into orbit or landed them in the middle of the ocean so they could meditate and focus on the problem of making new spawning pools without getting raided by Skaven or upstart Chaos Champions every five god damn minutes. Or hell, maybe they take a page from the Elves' book and use the influx of magic created by the destruction of The Great Vortex to create said new spawning pools.
Bertrand the Brigand and his merry men would extend their aid to the poor to those of other cities and kingdoms; essentially starting a few companies that are dedicated to his cause. This even causes a few Dogs of War mercs to join up out of similar feelings of aid to their old homes.
Gotrek and Felix would not die in their last jaunt, the slayer saves his manling from a near death by descending from the chaotic heavens and bringing his blood brother to get healed. They continue their mighty journeys in this recovering world; including a minor encounter with a few Nurglings that results in Nurgle himself having a fear of a certain angry midget.
Skarsnik recovers from the slaying of his dreams and Gobbla; he recovers by attaining a special magic rune item that allows him to tame both Trolls and Squigs, the item once belonged to the Troll King himself in his early years. Now rejuvenated with a new pet squig, Chompa, and an army of friendly beasts; the Goblin plans his new conquests ahead.
Festus Leechlord ends up earning the ire and wrathful axe of Gotrek Gurnisson during an attempted plagueing of a underground dwarven village/orphanage; his future goal of daemonhood is snuffed after most of his army of Plague Toads and Rot Flies are flushed out by the sudden guest arrival of Max Schrieber who's gained a zenkai boost in his magic since his last meeting with the two heroes. Leechlord is forced back and is finally dragged back to Nurgles Garden without his ascension after Gotrek slices off his umbilical piping and left mixing arm, crippling the plague doctor in the eyes of his daemon master.
Thanquol manages to escape his fate in the end times by a lucky scapegoat, continuing his work for another day. He also gains two Bonerippers this time for his alleged “survival missions” for his race, a bullshit lie built up to keep his motives secret from the council.
Halflings also get their time to shine in the Empire; being called upon by Karl Franz, he has platoons worth of hobbits help in rebuilding their fertile lands and crop farms so society can go back to its productive healthy state. In exchange for this mighty boon, Franz grants them full-citizenship in the Empire (Or for what one can call it there) and a section of unused territory for them to claim for their moot. In time, the Empire is slowly regrowing their crops and fertile through the halflings assistance.
I like the idea of Gotrec and Felix plus Teclis becoming a permeant thing with all the elves hunting them. Though it would funny to have Felix starting another window tax riot and become first president of the Republics of mankind.
Thanquol insults the Skeleton Popes hat leading to another Skaven Vs Nagash war. That occupies both factions until Gotrek, Felix, and Teclis can somehow stumble out a victor for Order
The End Times was simply GW killing the setting by asking a bunch of authors to write a dumpster fire series of novels. As far as I'm concerned, it never happened.
To be fair also, Vlad by himself wasn't THAT bad (for a vampire) as he was for a small chunk of the end time the defacto emperor during some of the siege of Altdorf and has proven to be a good leader and general, and statesmen for that matter. The other problem is whether Isabella is even still around, if she isn't vlad might be dead just like in cannon.
vlad was never really about the "the only good life is unlife" schtick from what i gather. he used his vampirism as a tool, but still retained a lot of his humanity. i think he would be a good emperor, since he could also rule over it for centuries and get some well needed coordinated changes done
@@notoffensivenpc8400 yeah, from what I remember even during the first vampire wars Sylvania was more or less prosperous because of how well he managed it, sure you had the blood tax and such but if it meant that a group of blood knights and vampires came and defended your village from beastmen id probably take the trade off, plus from what I remember during his reign in Sylvania most vampires were kept from straight up killing people for blood and instead took what they needed without killing. The biggest problem that holds Vlad back is the fact he has the personality of "no one is as good or as smart as me so I'm obviously the only one that can be the emperor" along with just being super arrogant in general. @Sercotani It has the blood of Fantasy on it's hands, nothing other than maybe a reboot of Fantasy could make that hate go away. Besides, with Total War Warhammer, what's the point of Age of Sigmar anymore?
@@Sercotani The models are nice. The lore has zero stakes and never will. Death doesn't matter, territory is infinite, and the factions are all really amazing sculpts of the shadow of their former selves. It's been a decade, we're past the point of "giving it a chance." They even brought back the old world and had to keep half of the more interesting factions segregated into AoS without allowing them in old world because they don't want people using the new nicer sculpts for a game that has a more passionate community.
What I find most interesting is the idea of democracy being seeded. There already were Freetowns who elected their rulers but still swore fielty to their elector count and the current emperor (Ubersriek). In fact there is already an example of this working at a provincial level in the league of Osternmark. All freetowns who elected their leaders, who the. Elected their chancellor/elector count. This got me thinking, with with entire ruling families gone and a good framework as to how it would work already implemented in the empire. It may actually be a fast transition into a Constitutional Monarchy where elector counts are now also elected officials.
@@CH-ml4rz Honestly, yeah. Most folk don't care what immoral, life sucking leech is at the top. The one that demands the least taxes is going to get votes for sure.
I am kinda disappointed you didn't mention Grombrindal. He was essentially the living ancestor god of grudges, bearing one of the most powerful grudges of all Dwarf history, and he forgave it. And he's revealed as High King Snorri Whitebeard in doing so. Both of these things would have an insane effect on dwarf culture and values. Even super traditionalist dwarfs might change if it's Grombrindal. Plus it means there's a weird chance of a dwarf-elf alliance returning once more. You could even add in a bit about your beloved elves being given their Phoenix crown back if they worked together to rebuild and reclaimed Karaz-a-Karak. Honestly the best odds of both recovering if they did work together under Snorri and Malekith working together once more.
I listened to this while mowing my lawn. I always thought viewing the many WH images you put in your videos were necessary to enjoy these rich audio tapestries. But I was wrong. Like Barron Von Trumpstein or whoever that jerk is. As I mowed down weeds, I pictured the Skaven unsuccessfully trying to avoid my dull mulching blade. It added a whole new layer to it. Thanks, man.
"You can't unsink ultuwan" New High Elf Character: [Name here] "The Mad" "Just resurrect the old vortex, use it to drag uthuwan above the depths, presto :)" And then you introduce the waterfolk that exist only to catch leaks from GW.
I think the Skaven have some role to play in that one too, seeing as Nagash refuses to even use them in AOS. He doesn't want their souls nor their corpses. Perhaps one particularly big brained rat realizes this and exploits it. Or maybe due to Chaos being destroyed, the GHR realizes that Nagash is the new biggest threat and actually get the Skaven to get their shit together and do something about it. Skaven being able to do all sorts of bullshit they shouldn't be capable of means that they're the only ones who reasonably stand a chance against the forces of Death itself. Just look at Ikit Claw, he's nearly 400 years old, that's like 80x the normal lifespan for a Skaven. They've already mastered immortality.
This is the idea behind a project I'm slowly putting together cuz I wanna run some warhammer fantasy tabletop. The ideas I have mostly written down at this point are: -Nagash was slapped down by the chaos gods, he failed to eat any death god or become one himself. He's basically just a really strong spirit now that's more active than previously. -Throgg actually chose to throw in with Vlad's plan to fight back the chaos invasion, and was crucial to helping the forces of order push them back. He's now the king of Troll Country, which is most of what was once Kislev. -Cathay and Lustria were NOT easily conquered offscreen by the Chaos Dwarfs and Skaven. The Chaos Dwarfs are becoming more active and more aggressive in their expansion, while the Skaven fell to another civil war because of one of Thanquol's failed plans. -Archaeon was killed in single combat by Gotrek, much to his extreme disgust. -The Lizardmen and High Elves are becoming more active across the globe, and were instrumental to beating back the chaos invasion, and the Lizardmen are helping push back the chaos wastes. -No more "Malekith was really the phoenix king you guys" that shit's stupid. Basically the idea is to present a world that's badly damaged by the biggest chaos invasion in history, but which is recovering. I'd also want to open up some new adventure possibilities such as dealing with Throgg as a begrudging ally of the Empire, having more Chaos Dwarfs, more contact with Cathay/Lizardmen and the rest of the world, etc.
For chaos changes you could make the norcans abandon the dark gods either partially or completely as the ones who stayed were the less devout ones and the ones who returned weren't happy about being thrown into yet another lost meat grinder You get a new norsca that is slightly more interesting, with old believers hanging on and new believers having to establish a new religion and societal structure To give chaos a win out of it you could make it so there are now rifts in reality everywhere (like in warhammer 3) so that yeah, chaos is slightly weaker, but now nowhere is truly safe, not even inner cathay (yeah, the expansion of the eye of terror again what, idc) Edit: to justify the second part you could just have either the chaos gods having spent too much energy into the not so end times and so unable to just take over or have the order factions recreate something like the vortex but significantly weaker that can't stop all incursions, but can stop most
Bretonia having to reckon with its formative religion being a fake would be the most interesting thing to happen to Bretonia and actually could be really cool. This whole video just makes me realize how (even more) dumb blowing up Fantasy was, because they could do a pretty big reset of the universe even with Chaos losing. Your entire society being in flux for a hundred years or so and reorganizing is even a pretty good time to change its identifying name to something different (and copyrightable.) All while not throwing away all of the history of an entire setting!
I think by far the elven situation would be the Most interesting. Specially considering Malekith IS the official chosen of Asuryan. No tricks no BS. So thats gonna pull a lot of weight.
Yes it will. And probably we will see very different Malekith. Probably he will become even more and more look like his dad and who knows maybe pull similar to what Aenerion did and be praised as hero despite his past reputation.
This was pretty good. I would like to see more and hear more. To be honest, I was quite happy Kroq-Gar survived the end times, and by the old ones, that saurus is a tough bastard to kill. And while I'm sad that the dawi got "nuked" back to the stone age with the death of Thorgrim, at least they have enough people to rebuild. And finally there is Settra... While Nagash chomped down the gods of death, I think it would be interesting if Pita and the other Nehekaran gods decided that "yeah, shit got real" and just threw themseves at the back of Settra to offer at least someone to "check" Nagash (not defeat, just check him to make sure everyone has TIME to rebuild).
@@anlize3422 Kroq-Gar survived, but sadly Grimloq did not, which was incredibly tragic. :C I do wonder what became of Kroq-Gar afterwards, if he did perish with the Old World or if he somehow ended up as the Seraphon called Ku-Quar in AoS? I mean he did effectively got a super-blessing by some form divinity (Sotek? The Old Ones? Lord Kroak?) which allowed him to counter Lord Skrolk's god-mode disentegrator weapon. Also wish the named Lizardmen heroes like Kroq-Gar got more characterization and individuality for stories about them. I know they are supposed to be "biological robots" but they are still living beings with souls and intellect. Like they can still all be undyingly loyal to The Great Plan and still have their personality quirks and things they like to do when they aren't fighting.
@@DeusExAngelo From what I gathered, Korq-Gar did made it to AoS, but he got "demoted" into a captain-type unit or something. At least not I heard. Also yea, rip Grimloq. That being said, there is a small mod for WH3 that adds small bit of lore for characters and locations. These blurbs actually do give some nice caracterization to the characters, specially the Lizardmen. I don't know if they are cannon or not, but god damn they are well written and I kind of use them as my headcannon. In these small lore bites, Kroq-Gar is stoic like most lizardmen, but he does enjoy a good hunt and a fight.
Honestly, even with this there's a handfulevents I'd want to change. In no particular order: 1. Thorgrim doesn't die, but is severely wounded. 2. The aforementioned dragons of Cathay don't lose the two you mentioned, but instead both are severely injured. The dragon who disappeared before and was loved by all her siblings comes back. 3. Karl survives, even after the Sigmar possession, and becomes something akin to a demigod. 4. The everpeak holds, but barely. 5. Kislev's main leader(s) survive. 6. Ulthwei, although with chunks taken out of it, still remain intact. 7. Wood elves have lost some of their gods, but some the nice gods remained rather than the asshats. 8. The dark elves take far more of a hit than the high elves, and certain elves that died don't. Etc. etc. etc. Et Settra! Settra survives.
Basically I don't like my favourites dying, so let's say the moon fell in a realistic manner, meaning it shattered into millions of fragments before pelting most of the planet.
Also one more thing: Nagash realizes that having living beings around so that they can reproduce and give him countless more servants, especially powerful individuals from various factions, leads to him playing the long game. Oh, and what if we combined AoS with Endhammer and although not everything goes full end times, both worlds are now connected in a way that can't be ignored. As in you can get from one to the other by either walking or teleporting, idk. I just want some of both. I can't help it. I'm hella greedy.
I think a way to curtail Nagash would be if all four chaos gods attacked him, and they were locked in a war of Chaos V Undead. Kinda like the blood war in D&D, where small bits may leak out into the material realm, but if either side wins, reality is doomed.
pancreas: Who’s to say Telics can’t become a permanent member of the Gotrek and Felix group? Me: Gotrek, because the only reason he didn’t murder the elf was because he needed the guy’s help. Then because the catastrophe he was preventing could affect the dwarves. Unless what Telics wants to do assists the dwarves I don’t see Gotrek not trying to brain him the second the meet up
Honestly the easiest place to stop this is if Archeon just kind of fell in one of his trials and it just sort of cut to a another no-name person like he was at the beginning of his quest. It would really play into the themes that the setting had of the slow encroachment of darkness and how the most that anyone is really doing is at best delaying (and how it's only possible for that to be a thing due to the flaws of the mortal races as it were)
Obviously the morally and objectively correct option for the elves is for Alarielle to marry Malakith for peace, but have a polycule. Tyrion gets to engage in some top decking and wrecking on weekends with Alarielle, while Malakith fends off some Ara Ara from his mom.
I like the idea. That a temperature fix to the high elf vortex. Is to use the ogre maw god. Seeing as he is already consuming the atmosphere and any thing that gets to close
Best way to say the skaven failed? They just blew up the moon rarher than dropped half of it on Lustria. The lizards then finally get to play a major role in the setting by spearheading the resistance and fight back against chaos, now being more active after being shown that something must be done here and now rather than waiting for what the Great Plan says.
Thank you for doing this video, was really curious what your take on it would be. Also you deserve a cookie for not calling Bretonnia "smelly" even once, you did, indeed, try hard lol. Interesting takes on all factions there though, just a shame Mannfred didn't end up getting dead.
Honestly my wild take for Cathay is Miao Ying lives but has to reckon with the fact that the Wall fell and despite ultimately helping save the nation in this time line exiles her self for her perceived failing and the death of the Emperor, maybe going on a futile journey to find Shen Zoo. Zhao Ming like someone else came up with has lost his mind and is causing havoc in the warpstone desert, with Yuan Bo trying to put back together the empire with their father dead and Li Bao having to take up the mantle of his sister since he always envied her over the position while dealing with attempting to mercy kill his new insane brother and play politics with the Monkey King. As for Yin Yin who the f knows, shes Yin Yin so maybe she misguidedly tries to conquer new land for Cathay only to cause more problems.

This. This is good. I like this comment.
Course there’s the whole Malekith thing they need to take care of first.
Giving wood elves cheap infantry and heavy armoured knights? I like this comment. I also feel like WE and Brets are the two most 1 dimensional factions, so combining them somewhat is interesting considering how Alarielle and Gilles are still around

Where you, a Chaos cultist, have to fend off the unending swarms of all these fucking Cadians holy shit we blew up their planet already why are there still so many-
I think you can justify "keeping Nagash busy".
Soo in other words, he's fist fighting all of the chaos gods and doesn't notice the people living again.

Idoneth Deepkin in Fantasy? Finally Fantasy has my full attention.
Honestly, that could work. It solves a setting problem and brings a faction into the setting in a plausible manner.
He wouldn't need to swim down. If memory serves Dark Elves are able to explore undersea ruins through magic
Even then the Orks have Gazzy to rally around, the skaven just have the great horned rat who’s pretty hands off with telling his rats what to do
I'd like to believe that in this universe Kislev isn't wiped out so easily because Katarin (and the entire army) weren't"away" and "busy".
Probably yes, since theyre all gonna be ultra depressed
“Okay, after this just give me whatever you took to be in this mood.”
*gotrek watches as teclis magics a army of marauders to death*
That only counts as one.
honestly teclis joining gotrek and felix to complete the man/dwarf/elf with warrior/brutal warrior/mage would be the best thing, he deserves a break from trying to fix things and an adventure with them seems nice, might figure out some things on the way too
Teclis: *kills and army with magic before the battle even begins*
Gotrek: “That still only counts as one!”
I would say all of those at once, knowing the ratty-boys. X)
You should also make a “fixing the end times” where you try to keep the order of events somewhat (if possible) like they happened but tried to fix it by giving an honorable end to characters (i just want to see a good end for Thorgrim and a few other characters) for example, just overall making them at least bearable

It had nothing to do with favoritism. GW wanted to kill the setting and the game. They considered WHFB to be a financial loss.
@@justwannabehappy6735 I get that it was a financial loss, but they could have waited for Total War 1 to come out and see what happened. I wouldn't have been surprised if it saw a massive uptake in sales since those games are decently popular even though they're set in a dead setting. 2 million of the first game were sold, 1 million of the second and 36 million of the third.
@@cookiecraze1310 GW has a track record of poor decisions market wise.
Perhaps it would not only let Settra make his own army, but free people like Nekaph, Apophis the scarb guy, and Khalida from Nagash over to his side.
One can only imagine the possibilities of racism with this
Altdwarf
(Potentially notes could be taken from the Eldar of all people, with Dwarves in their main society being allowed to roam to 'get it out of their system' Ranger style under the stubborn assurance they'll come back humbled.)
Wood Elves convinced that they can't just sit back and try to keep people out of their forests, High and Dark elves officially done with the civil war (or what they see as a hypocritical compromise by their sides leadership) ending up in these same cities that are trying to rebuild from the mess of the end times.
Maybe total war + old world can create a “fantasy survives” storyline and it can keep going (it will never happen)
Old World literally has strings to AoS with things like new info that the Old Ones saw potential in the world “that perhaps in it’s inevitable future of Fire & destruction it could lead to new realms of reality”.

Alternate history: What if Pancreas loved dwarfs instead of elves? We would probably have quite a few Do or Don't dwarf videos instead of none. (No, I'm not counting the High King)
That could be a great April fools video. Just, make the entire thing as if that has always been the case and let it stand.
YESSSSS THANKE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DO A VIDEO LIKE THAT
Archaon did fail. He failed at middenheim where valten caved his skull in gloriously. I brought my high elves and fought in the storm of chaos, Irefuse to believe that the actions I saw there were the precursor to the death of the world
GW: "Those don't count."
Fans: "Whatever..."
This is easily my favorite video of yours.

Basically, New Atlantis is real. Neat. 😎

Merging parts of Kislev and Bretonnia into the Empire as a way to block Vlads ascension to Emperor sounds like a logical move.

The Skaven devoured Chaos then died of indigestion 😅😅
If i can eat those less of a dollar street hot dogs, the skaven can tank eating chaos
Pestilence clan would have new sickness
I really liked this, and I'd like to see more of it. Here's to hoping you do more stuff like this!
I fully believe that Settra's war against Nagash would be the only thing stopping the big skeleman from eating everything in the world
I think the Skaven have some role to play in that one too, seeing as Nagash refuses to even use them in AOS.
The ideas I have mostly written down at this point are:
-Nagash was slapped down by the chaos gods, he failed to eat any death god or become one himself.
For chaos changes you could make the norcans abandon the dark gods either partially or completely as the ones who stayed were the less devout ones and the ones who returned weren't happy about being thrown into yet another lost meat grinder
You get a new norsca that is slightly more interesting, with old believers hanging on and new believers having to establish a new religion and societal structure
To give chaos a win out of it you could make it so there are now rifts in reality everywhere (like in warhammer 3) so that yeah, chaos is slightly weaker, but now nowhere is truly safe, not even inner cathay (yeah, the expansion of the eye of terror again what, idc)
Edit: to justify the second part you could just have either the chaos gods having spent too much energy into the not so end times and so unable to just take over or have the order factions recreate something like the vortex but significantly weaker that can't stop all incursions, but can stop most
Bretonia having to reckon with its formative religion being a fake would be the most interesting thing to happen to Bretonia and actually could be really cool.
I do wonder what became of Kroq-Gar afterwards, if he did perish with the Old World or if he somehow ended up as the Seraphon called Ku-Quar in AoS? I mean he did effectively got a super-blessing by some form divinity (Sotek? The Old Ones? Lord Kroak?) which allowed him to counter Lord Skrolk's god-mode disentegrator weapon.
Also wish the named Lizardmen heroes like Kroq-Gar got more characterization and individuality for stories about them. In these small lore bites, Kroq-Gar is stoic like most lizardmen, but he does enjoy a good hunt and a fight.
Honestly, even with this there's a handfulevents I'd want to change.
In no particular order:
Elves are split as you mentioned, just that about 50% of their homeland remains and that storm thingie is still there.
Basically I don't like my favourites dying, so let's say the moon fell in a realistic manner, meaning it shattered into millions of fragments before pelting most of the planet.
Ofc, this means the lizardmen didn't get hit with ALL of the moon, but still most of it.
Nagash is stuck in the afterlife pretty much completely.
Also one more thing:
Nagash realizes that having living beings around so that they can reproduce and give him countless more servants, especially powerful individuals from various factions, leads to him playing the long game.
Unless what Telics wants to do assists the dwarves I don’t see Gotrek not trying to brain him the second the meet up
Man, Teclis becoming a permanent part of the Gotrek and Felix crew sounds wildly entertaining
"Hear me! Heed me! Listen and be joyful. Nagash is all, and all are one in Nagash."
-Nagash
Morathi die when the vortex was destroyed, slannesh came personally to claim her
Honestly I'd love to hear what other ideas you have, it's an interesting change of pace
You mean “What if the End Crimes never happened?”
I like the idea. That a temperature fix to the high elf vortex. Is to use the ogre maw god. Seeing as he is already consuming the atmosphere and any thing that gets to close
Lord Kroak obviously just resets lustria to the last patch/auto save
Best way to say the skaven failed? They just blew up the moon rarher than dropped half of it on Lustria. The lizards then finally get to play a major role in the setting by spearheading the resistance and fight back against chaos, now being more active after being shown that something must be done here and now rather than waiting for what the Great Plan says.
Yay Kaiserreich reference
And yes, some of us are boring enough to play allies every game
Thank you for doing this video, was really curious what your take on it would be. Also you deserve a cookie for not calling Bretonnia "smelly" even once, you did, indeed, try hard lol. Interesting takes on all factions there though, just a shame Mannfred didn't end up getting dead.
Omg his bed was almost made!
For Pancreas, that is made.
Seeing french style revolutionary bretonnia would be epic
Thanquol is in AoS. You can't kill this rat. He will have to order Vorhax n° god know much though XD
You cannot fix the end times without retconning everything Lileath did. It was actual character assassination and the writers were monkeys.
Thanks for pushing out content so fast.
Story Time with PancreasNoWork is something I really look forward to each week and you've certainly been delivering on that.
The restaint thay Pancreas showed that not reducing Bretonia to a blood smeared crater shows a lot of maturity. i mean, he should have reduced it to blood smeared crater, but ya know.
Okay, seriously, What is with the hate for Bretonnia?
@John-Stark they're jerks pretending that they're not jerks. I mean, compared to the Dark Elves and Chaos Dwarves, the forces of Chaos the Orks and Vampires, and Nagash they wouldn't be considered jerks but by the standards of the forces of order they're jerks.
It's like when I hear about Bretonian history and society I just imagine Norm Mcdonald reading it off and ending by saying wow they sound like real jerks!
@@joshreichardt2485 I still like the idea of their old lore before it got grim darked
@@John-Stark1. They’re a society built on the concept of medieval serfdom taken to 11, Peasants are treated as worse then dried shit and are lucky to live past age 30, Knights are, universally, a bunch of uppity assholes who believe they are the end-all be-all when it comes to chivalry/honour, and will quite happily say so to anyone, even if said person is pointing a gun directly at their forehead
2. Their entire society is just diet High Elves, but without anything that makes the Elves interesting
3. Their tactics in warfare boil down to “Run straight at the enemy on horseback” in a setting with magic, guns, and magic guns
4. Their old lore made mention of the fact that they used to invade the Empire on a semi regular basis
5. They’re French
@DMDarren "I'm just going to come out and say it these Bretonians are some real jerks." Norm McDonald probably
