Before all of this, we had the humble little Mitsubishi Galant Sigma. This Big Turbo Galant Sigma GSR build we have on showcase today highlights Mitsubishi's crazy cars in its awesome history and reveals the powerful lineage of the almighty 4G engine. Ive seen this Sigma GSR turbo from when he first purchased it to it's current day. Count urself lucky Clay that you got to drive it cos it's been 20 yrs and I'm still waiting..

I remember when this car first came out.
It had 116kw & 235nm weighing 1197kg, super light & it had impressive RWD handling to boot.
Could do 0-60mph in 7sec flat & cover the 1/4 mile in 15.5sec.
Which was incredible back in the early 80s.
Should be proud of the beast you've created with it🌟
One of the best old school cars around. Have driven a few minor builds over the years and had an atmo 2.6 Automatic 20+ years ago. Great cars.

Before the sigma gsr, came the mitsubishi starion turbo. Before the mitsubishi starion, came the sigma turbo. And before that came the lancer ex1800 and 2000 turbo. All RWD 4g62s, 4g63s and 4g54s.

All models of these OG Sigmaz were popular in Nz( even the fwd models lol ). In the mid to late 90s, ppl started tinkering around with the Astron engines and ford v8's b4 the 4g63T was seen as the engine of choice.. and 17-18" rims lol
Luv that ppl still tinker with these OG Cars and these OG engines bringing them up to spec with modern Tech 🫡🫡🫡💯

I have a factory Aussie made "VAN" Mitsubishi 2.4L 4G64 2.4L, That is a "Sirius" block 1999 l400 RWD 5speed. I spent $10,000 on a Aeroflo turbo, injectors fuel pump, wide band, With a Haltech 750 Elite, and a 50 shot

I had my dad's old 1.6L GL in Manila. Stupid 4G32 from the Lancer felt absolutely asthmatic, even with exhaust headers I got to install mid-through college. But the ride was fine if you weren't in a hurry and as luck would have it, we spent so much time in traffic when the "Skyway" started to get built. My folls eventually sold it after '96 when I went back to the states. I still really miss her though.

Sigma are super sick cars , but the EX2000 lancer awd is the Evo grand father,
Those 2.6 sohcs were always old rattlers. The oil pumps die pretty fast and they turn into bricks pretty quickly no matter what you do to them
