Featuring a fully built big turbo 700HP 4G63 2.2L Stroker Mitsubishi EVO 8 MR with an Air-Shifted Sequential and also a ridiculous closed deck built big turbo 700HP EJ20 Subaru Impreza WRX STI GD Blob Eye. Which one is faster, which do we like best and which one will WIN?

I was in bossti when it blew up after he just brought it.
and at the time nath wasnt sure what route to go with it as he didnt know much about the EJ platform so i took it in to my own hands to round all the parts together and drop it off to scotty at ichiban and manage the build then i got locked up and didnt see the end process until now so good too see it back on the streets on ya nath reach out you know who it is lad. 👍🏼 Bossti 💪🏼

@@benpurinton that's why you get a short block from I.A.G like Nathan did in bossti and do it properly I.A.G fix all the problematic areas of the ej and make it a really good reliable engine that's a EJ20 MAGNUM 900 GOOD FOR 900HP and it's at 650 so it will go all day lad I made bossti what it is today otherwise it would still be stockish 250/300kw

@@benpurinton How are Subaru’s cheaper in every way ? Subaru STI’s come hands down with better interior, sounds more manly with an exhaust installed, Evo’s interior look like cheap last minute stuff they had left over from the entry level Lancer haha. Subaru definitely made the STI interior stand out from the WRX so you know you got the better model. I love Both cars, they both are freaking BEASTS ! Where I live, I used to see Evo’s pulled over on the side of freeways and streets with their hoods up from something going wrong smoke from the engine bay, waiting for a tow truck. Then I stopped seeing Evo’s PERIOD. I still see STI’s all the time and WRX’s of ALL years, where you at Evo’s !? And don’t tell me we’ll go to a car show or a car meet, then you’ll see ! That is a cop out. People moved on from Evo’s plus they stopped producing them YEARS before Subaru stopped STI production, my opinion for that is you can’t make good cars and tv’s so they went with sticking to tv’s haha J/K of course. I would be VERY happy to have either one of those cars in my garage. And how would you know Subaru doesn’t care about their consumers are you a Subaru owner and had a bad experience ? Or are you just speaking cuz a friend of a friend of a friend said this or that or have you just watched too many TH-cam videos of people that don’t know how to make a good Subaru and blow their engine up ? I wonder if you ever owned an STI or a Evo and or you are just talking 3rd party out the side of your mouth ? I know people with 04-05 STI’s STILL going strong and people with 06 STI’s STILL going strong, I don’t know one Evo owner from around those years, with it running or it collecting dust cuz it’s a piece of Sh!t, they all scuttled ship and moved on to BMW platforms or muscle cars with V8’s.
@@NoNo-yb7ds bro they are such a good option for the guy who gets his not built sti and blows it up if you take It to a shop to rebuild your getting back to OEM for 11k and 200kw and then you'll run it to the same issue put more boost in it and have stock ring gap and then when the ring gets hot and expands more and more because it's hotter getting more boost then the 2 ends hit and have no where to go except up and then you do a ring lan its going to happen to everyone with stock motor with just bolt ons so once that happens best option is buy a IAG and do your heads and they already got all their bolt ons so slap all that together depending on what stage IAG they go for youll be getting 400hp to 750hp for 15k to 30k I got this IAG magnum 900 ej20 for BOSSTI short block for 7k brother with some good deals thrown in for me from pro speed racing got everything we needed except the turbo ordered that from golbeys precision 6062 and the proces west intake then Scotty at ichiban threw it all together and happy days for Nathan... But straight out you would be stupid not to get a IAG short block if ever you Subaru blew up it's a no brainer at least then you know you can beat on it and you'll be sweet

Back in 2009 I was going to buy an evo 7, I ended up with a v7 sti cos they were about 10k cheaper, best move I ever made :) wrx ftw!
I am loving the transmission and the smooth power delivery in the Evo. Amazing acceleration.

They are beasts. I think they can hold around 850 before real issues start to occur, somebody correct me if I’m wrong. Now the Wrx 5speed in any generation is known to be made out of glass. Even close to 100 over stock power and you’ll see issues.
People run 900 horsepower with the stock STI transmission...700 is not really the limit..its a lot higher....that said this sti is running a much smaller turbo than that EVO
@@wyattjackson977wrx 5 speed doesn’t hold nearly as much hp. I’ve seen people run 400hp builds with their stock 5 speed, mainly depends how you treat your gearbox and how you launch and tunnel through gears

Im not a JDM person and i won't drive anything other than a V8, but if i have to chose i would go with the evo for performance. The WRX looks sick though.
V8s are slow, waste a ton of gas, and can only drive in a straight line😂😂😂 to each their own though 😅

Just have to compare the reactions after being a passenger in both cars. Scoob is far more exciting, intoxicating and fun. Evo is more purpose-built and serious. Scooby always wins for me, but they're both awesome cars, just in their own ways.
cant compete with a sequential and NOS... but still take the STI easy, far better looking car.
Not easy to do regular maintenance like plugs and valve cover gasket but taking out the engine is pretty simple

Drove an Evo with 525 WHP and it felt slow to me. The power hit so late and the power curve was so tight that it just didn't impress me...
I took the EVO owner fkr a ride in my 07 STi back when it was around 425 WHP and it is such a smoother more linear delivery. They EVO guy was a total fan boy and they were screaming and high fiveing and I was just running my normal run on this twisty area I liked to run.
The EVO guy couldn't believe the torque my car had compared to his. My 100 WHP less car was way faster than his car which goes to tell that numbers don't always tell the true tale.
The EVO guy didn't feel comfortable to even drive my car because he felt it was too fast and said I drove his EVO better than him... but he was a kid at the time... maybe 22 and I was maybe 33...
I am going to drop in an IAG 750 short block soon. Going for a simple 475 WHP. Don't think the 500 WHP would be too much of a difference.
Stock head with the EJ 257 Block.
I smoked a 2004 STi with 535 WHP but he said that it was the gearing and he could hear my shift points were better.
I enjoy around 21 psi but dialed it back to 20 psi... I want to try around 24 psi and up.
The IAG 750 should be fine and I only plan to run street gas 93 octane... no E85.

I am an Evo man myself, having owned an Evo 6 GSR back in the day. Respect to the Scooby but the air shift gear changes of the Evo are just too much for it to live with !

Idk I’m not impressed by rotated turbo Subarus. I like stock location turbo and top mount intercooler STIs with equal headers.
Proper vid and rides. My opinion, it would be a lot better with more racing and a little less talking( I say that respectfully)you could get the same information in half the time and still get to know the rides and drivers, then put the rest of that time into the races with possibly more cameras and clean runs with a flager with a led to que the race. A real race is from a dig either eighth or a quarter mile. After that, you can talk about roll racing. Like I sed my opinion but lifelong Petro head here from Texas, definitely about this life. We can really see what’s up with the rides. Yall wanna see some sick roll rancing look up Texas2k that’s in Houston. It’s been going on for a good while now and if you type that in you’ll see some shit for sure.

I think the sti was on a happy dyno, my S15 was doing 470 on my dyno that was very conservative and I was probably sub 5 seconds 100-200, maybe sub 4. I'd be thinking this is about 100 less then he thinks. Very nice build for an sti tho. Bit worried about his driving

Went from Sooby in late 90s to Evo then back to an STI in 06. The Evo's power delivery is not as exciting as the 'lag n go' feel of a big turbo'd STI!
Subie could be making another 200hp and would still get chopped by sequential Evo. Sequential FTW!

Heads built with super Tech valves inconel exhaust valve kelford 265 cams 1300 I.D injectors I wanted to stage them but the owner didn't want to its running on haltec platinum sport 1000 that's everything I forgot to mention and I'll Think of more shit and add it.. I know more about this car then the owner does his got no idea about cars just buys them to try look hectic and in the know

I could tell from the first few pulls of the vehicles that the evo would be quicker
Not only is it quicker , but the throttle response looks alot more responsive, the Subaru appears laggy , since the owner chose to be unequal length header to retain the rumble , i suspect his throttle response suffers because of that , also the front mount intercooler piping would add a little lag too, there could be some improvements made on the Subaru, coming from a Subaru owner

Evo has the best transmission, and with flat foot shifting it's definitly the winner and the sti with poor shifting can't catch that evo, but he is the winner for clean, shine look.
