quick connect for hoses so no more screwing on and off and quicker. Also a Y for the hose at the water faucet at campground so you can have water and also hook up hose for tank wash outs.
The MOST important thing in that list is the Progressive Industries electrical line conditioner. I have one on my coach which is just three months old, and already it has saved me a lot of damage. I hooked up to a 30AMP socket on a home (driveway surfing) that said right on it 120V, but turns out it was wired as 240V. The Progressive Industries EMS (Electrical Management System) blocked the high voltage and saved my coach from serious damage. What a great product!
Absolutely agree and we picked ours up before we even took delivery of our RV. Its saved our butts a couple times and very cheap insurance when you consider the damage that can be done if you don't have one.
Hey, I just saw this video while my dad fell asleep, and I just wanted to say I really appreciate the last little bit where you gave us a sample of messing up. It makes me feel a lot better and less alone lol
Great video y'all! The FIRST purchase we bought was the Progressive Industries EMS. We felt it was the most important thing for our rig. It's cool to see y'all supporting other full timers. We've been following Josh and Kali for a while too!
Im very old school (I did the majority of my serious RVing in the mid-late 90's)! My "Celluar One" carrier at the time, had very limited range with my very old cell phone! So, me and my bro bought hand-held portable ham walkie-talkies (these deff were not toys)! A must have gadget for any RVer these days would have to be a Yeasu FT-2DR or FT 1DR/XDR hand held Ham Transceiver! If you're in an area with absolutely no cell service, no WiFi or ANYTHING else, and you're in an extreme emergency situation, where getting your position out to emergency personnel is a MUST, having one of these babies in your rig, WILL get you out of that jam! They cover the 144-550mhz ham range, and are powerful in getting your voice signal out! You have to have a shortwave FCC license to operate one, but not to purchase one ($399-$699)! And the FCC will overlook the fact that you don't have a license, if its strictly used for an emergency!
+roberto abrams funny, Kait was just asking about getting a Ham set up (she's reading a book where the only comms left are ham). We looked at some that were just analog so we'll have to check these out. Thanks!
+We're the Russos They still have CB walkie-talkies around, but those are crap in comparison. Look for good quality shortwave transceivers in electronic stores or specialty communication stores! A simple Google search should be helpful...but these devices are not cheap Joe! Cheers guys!
I appreciate your tips and tricks. My daughter and I will be entering the full time RV life this year. And the bloopers are cute:) your a super sweet cute couple.
Great tips, thanks. Also I really love the "out-takes" in the shower, LOL. I know one can't always get it right on the first take so no worries. Your video's are all well done. Keep up the good work.
Good stuff on your top 10 list especially the Progressive EMS! Mine has been protecting our electronics for a couple years now and, when we detect changes in voltage, the campground owners seem to appreciate the heads-up. Kudo's for giving props to the Freedom Theory's fine work.
+American Fry Thanks! The EMS has saved our butts a couple times with low voltage. We enjoy the Freedom Theory's videos and it was fun to work with them.
Hi Folks I appreciate your video and the tips were great and I'll be getting some of those items. We are not full time but we will still be getting a couple of those items like the voltage protection device and the shower on/off valve. Thanks, Jake
We have the Garmin 760 LMT along with the wireless backup camera (also sold by Garmin). The camera is mounted inside our RV's rear window. It's connected to a wireless remote switch (bought separately) to power the camera on and off as needed. I find that I currently use the Garmin with the camera more as a rear monitor than a GPS--for now. We're fairly new to RVing and once we venture out more, I'm sure the it will be very handy as a GPS as well. Along with the camera, and dedicated RV setup, the lifetime maps & traffic were instrumental in our purchasing decision. Love your channel, just subscribed.
Love you guys!! Thank you for the tips. We are goubg this week to pick out the rig for our new home. These gadgets ate going to be some of the 1st things to grab on the way home with the new home. Lol! I rolled watching the bloopers. I'd be making more of them than the actual videos. Much 💘 🐝Safe& God Bless
All great RVing gadgets, we love the Allstays and gas buddy apps to...and we are planning on putting in 2 new vent fans and covers but it's so hot right now we have the AC cranking so it can wait.
Test ride some of the different folding recumbent TRIKES and you will get hooked. Folding recumbent trikes vastly extend the joy of your RV experience.
Hi there, I am a new RV camper in a tear drop camper. I have been watching your informative videos which has helped a great deal. I hope to see one on items you need to go camping for the first time. Thank you both for such great information
Hi. Love your vlog and look forward to it every week. Now that you are in a smaller vehicle, would love to see a new top 10 gadget and kitchen. happy travels
Can you please give me the exact details for the wifi extender. What make and model and where did you find this item? I have wanted one of these for a long time. Thank you for your help.
Can you point me to your source for the shower on/off valve? I found some on Amazon, but not the same as you showed. I would prefer to get something that someone has tested and validated. Thanks.
Great share! I do have a question specific to the Progressive Industries EMS. Does its design include some method of locking it to the post in a way that it cannot be removed/taken without permanently damaging it (which, hopefully, serves as a deterrent)?
MK Outdoor Adventures Why not permanently install it in the van (on the other and of the extension cord? You'll need to do some installing but after that you'll have no problem whatsoever.
Just wanted to say hi. We just purchased ours and cant wait to take it out. We are not full timing yet but sure would like to at some point. Anyway, looks like you have fun, and that's what its all about.
Thanks for nice tips. If electric items like the AC are not running or on when a voltage drop occurs do they still potentially get damaged without a safety device? I have the TRC 30 amp surge protector. Tomorrow I'm try find out if it also protects for voltage drops. Happy RVing.
You're welcome! If something isn't running when you have a voltage drop, then you should be ok. However, many items like your refrigerator, etc are probably running most of the time.
Great video, goods items. I just ordered the Valterra valve. Just what you said happened to me on our last trip. I opened the cap and "stuff" fell out on my hands and in the bay. Yuck!
Super informative video, me and my family are considering going full time as well. I would like to know what do you use for Internet access. I've been doing some research but all of the options I've found have been super expensive, what do you use? Any suggestions?
did you know that most electronic that come with voltage inverters run just as well off of 12VDC. like your laptops. They have a voltage limiting circuit built into them because electronics only uses 5VDC to operate. If you wire a cigarette lighter plug to your cord keeping polarity in mind you can do away with the voltage inverters. They use a lot of power doing the voltage change over.
Wow. Just downloaded the "Allstays" app and it is SUPER Great!!! it works great and...it covers Canada which is where we are. We are planning a trip to the east coast in September and this app will be soooo handy! Thanks for the tip.
Hi guys love the vids! What is your thought on overnight parking at abandoned stores like kmarts and toys r us since they are literally all over the country?
+Dan M we are going to start doing more of that stuff. We were trying to be all "buttoned up" but realized its more fun to let our hair down - well at least Kait's hair.
We have to get one of those progressive Industries voltage regulators! Josh has been looking for one of those! Awesome gadgets you guys! Loved watching this! And we wish you were in Alaska too! Can't wait to crossed paths on the road! :)
Hello Kali and Josh, you two are so cool at the info video, your top ten must haves are the best! I'm a full-time RVer, TT, and much the same on all points of 10 items. I've been full-time over 5 years and not had all these really great videos like yours and select others..... you are making the videos very well while appearing to 'Just be having a normal conversation' to us on Video. Hope to see more of you two! David USA
What do you think of Allstays Pro (purchased directly from Allstays online)? I understand that it is much more indepth than the app. The cost is also 3 times as much. I understand that if there are any changes or updates to be made, it is done daily through Allstays Pro. It looks like it takes a lot longer for the Apps through Google and Apple to be updated. Luv your channel!
We wish we could help but we haven't used Allstays Pro. From what I can tell online, you're exactly correct that its a much more indepth version of the app. Sorry we can't give you more info but if you end up getting it, let us know what you think.
Thank you. I sent an email to the founder who said that I can login to Allstays Pro from any device. If I use the app, I am limited to the one device that I load the app on. He also said that Pro gives you Full screen mapping and more ways to look at more data. Pro has 25% more info than the app. He was also quick to respond just like you. You are the reason that we have decided to purchase Allstays. Perhaps you could offer to do a more indepth video of Pro and in return receive a one year subscription to Pro. You guys are GREAT!
Thank you so much - we've worked with him before to give away a few codes for the Allstays Camp & RV app and he's been great to work with. We'll have to talk to him about doing something with the Pro version of the app!
+cpantherz757 we've heard of people who had the McNally GPS and got the Garmin in its place - we've never used it. We should probably get a cover for the tire just hard to find one that big
The "wifi ranger" is a metal 52 router and a standard wifi house router. Total cost on both is $198.00 so if you are remotely tech savvy save yourself $550.00 and check out ebay.
Yea you must have gotten a deal I don't see anything on the WIFIRanger.com site for $130.00. What I was referring to is the 11-ELITEACPACKFM. This is supposed to be the top of the line and it sells for $749.00 off their site. When I was looking for a remote solution I was considering the ELETEACPACKFM but was having a hard time coughing up the $749.00. While watching an installation video on the ELETEACPACKFM I paused the video and managed to get the model number off the router that comes with the ELETEACPACKFM package. Low and behold I found the exact router (Metal 52 International version) for $135.00 on Ebay so I thought I would take a chance and see what I could do. The router can be connected directly to your computer so I attempted to configure that method fist. It took me a couple of hours being documentation is a little thin and videos on TH-cam are in Russian and Spanish which I am a little challenged with. After I got the configuration right it worked like a champ. The next step was to broadcast the single so I ran to Best Buy and bought a $63 router with a WiFi access point. 20 minutes later I was surfing the web anywhere in the house. What the ELETEACPACKFM package offers that is missing in my solution is software that allows you to see everything directly from your laptop in one place. With my solution you have to connect your laptop to the router then configure it through its web interface. Once the router is configured you then have to unplug it from your laptop and plug it in the back of your WiFi access point router and configure it. When you have done both configurations once, both the router and the WiFi access point have web interfaces that are accessible through your laptop. I live in Florida and hurricane Irma killed my internet last Sunday. So I stuck the router on the roof and I am surfing thanks to the Starbucks a mile away as the crow flies. Everything is just as seamless as the cable company supplied internet. So if you are okay with opening up two tabs on your browser instead of one you can save yourself almost $550.00 and draw in WiFi from a mile away or more. Maybe not worth it at $749.00 but at $198.00 worth a shot.
found you guys via the freedom theory but subbed because you guys are awesome! Anyway although my account here is BW equus (it's our horse buisness account) I'm Chena (Sheena) and my hubs and I just got our first RV and did a week long road trip from our place here in western WA. to our property in Montana in May. If we didn't have horses and autistic kids we'd do this full time too, actually we'd do it with the kids fine but we also take care of his mom who has bad ms and is almost wheelchair bound now. Also we love our horses so that would be a challenge! I can see us trying to rv full time with our family (large and special) our 11 horses and our chickens!
+BernardWoodsEquus Welcone to the channel and thank you for the sub! Sometimes you just need a home base and it just makes the trips you're taking that much more fun 😃 We have family in the Ocala area of FL and they, and all their friends, RV - but they always come back to the horses. We used to have chickens and miss the fresh eggs, so whenever we pass friends houses who have chickens, we always ask for a dozen. Hope you enjoy our other videos - cheers!
Like your Video, and also subscribed.. just curious it it is really pronounced Boat-a or if it is meant to be Bought-a.. like Bought a box of wine ?.. who knows.. and obviously not important.. off to check some of you other videos !

Thank you - we haven't made it up to Canada yet but we may in 2017.

Excellent video. Thank you.
+catsarereallycool you're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it.
what was the app to show all the places?
Nice Job Guys, Very Helpful tips.
Thank you!
Great share! I do have a question specific to the Progressive Industries EMS. Does its design include some method of locking it to the post in a way that it cannot be removed/taken without permanently damaging it (which, hopefully, serves as a deterrent)?
+MK Outdoor Adventures yes, there's a steel bracket on it that we secure to the pedestal with a bike lock.
MK Outdoor Adventures Why not permanently install it in the van (on the other and of the extension cord? You'll need to do some installing but after that you'll have no problem whatsoever.
Thanks! Very much enjoy your videos. Safe travels.
Thanks. That was my other consideration. I certainly like the unit, and its importance cannot be stated enough. I appreciate your assistance!
Great video!
I don't see the link for the app linked below. What's the name of the camp app??
Soon to be an RV owner, this was good information to have! Thank you for sharing

Thanks for nice tips. If electric items like the AC are not running or on when a voltage drop occurs do they still potentially get damaged without a safety device? I have the TRC 30 amp surge protector. Tomorrow I'm try find out if it also protects for voltage drops. Happy RVing.

Do most RV'ers not use McNally GPS? Also I love Gas Buddy and use it weekly. Lastly, shouldn't you have a cover over your spare tire? -Curious Viewer
Not sure what you're referring to but the wifi extender in this video is $130.

Great tips, thanks for sharing! Just subbed.
+RV Circus Welcome to the channel!
Josh and Kali sent me and I'm glad they did..:)
Thank you and welcome to the channel!
Excellent
Which RV are you in while filming this video?? Thank you
In Outback Australia I'd want a high quality CB Radio.
found you guys via the freedom theory but subbed because you guys are awesome!
Nice job...
+Tony Briggs Thanks
