    Is it safer to also loosen the top nut of the transmission mount on the driver side as well? If you try to lift the engine from the passenger side, while the transmission mount nut is still tightly attached at the driver side, won't that cause damage to the transmission because the engine is attached to the transmission? I am afraid doing it like how you showed here will break some seals in the transmission and cause an oil leak? Also, would it be safer to lift both the engine and transmission at the same time after the top nuts of all bottom mounts have been loosened and the top mount removed as well? Thanks.

    Hey Jose, I want to replace all of them by myself (engine and transmission mounts) but I noticed sometimes you need to loose other mounts to change the one you want
    So is there a sequence in changing them to make it easier for myself?

    • @elchanojose
      @elchanojose  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hello! Before anything else, thank you for taking your time to watch our video and for this great question. If you are going to replace all lower 3 mounts and the top damper or dog bone as well, is going to take you a good full day to do it carefully. Plan for a full day to do this. This is how I would do all in one day. Start by taking the top damper one off. Then, lift your car and sit it on good string jack stands at the frame or where the subframe meets the chassis. Loosen the front motor mount and start by replacing the passenger side one first. Put the passenger new mount on and once that’s done, put the upper dog bone or damper on so the lower passenger mount and upper damper can help you guide and balance the engine for the other two mount replacement. Now that the passenger side mounts are replaced, nos loosen the driver side mount having the front mount loosen and lift your engine to take front mount out and driver side mount helping by been loose to help or allowing the engine to lift enough to pull front mount out and putting the new one in. Then line up front mount leaving to bolt loose but with a few threads in so the engine is guided as you doing this. Take driver side out. Put new mount in, and stat lowering the engine down slowly to see and feel for things to fall on perspective places. Once’s engine dropped and all looks line up, tighten all hardware and bolts and nuts to secure engine to car. Remember that you might have to maneuver the engine to put the mounts in, this is the tricky part because you are going to have car on jack stands and a floor jack to lift the engine to create the gap where the mounts have to come out. Be careful and take your time to do this. The engine is heavy and that is why you always want to have a motor mount completely attached to control the engine valance. Hope this info can be helpful and answers some of your questions. Take well care!

    Why didn't you take out the stud while the mount was secured as you did in your other video of Left mount replacement to reduce Motor lifting? Reference Your's other Video is "How to replace transmission mount on you car Toyota Camry 2007-2012 (El Chano Jose) ". By the way both videos of Motor mounts replacement are so impressive. • @elchanojose
      @elchanojose  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hola Juan! Sería recomendado hacer uno por uno para que mantengas el motor aliviado y embancado. El soporte de enfrente sería el único que tienes que aflojar para cambiar los otros soportes así que si cambias los tres, deja el de enfrente para la última. Saludos Juan!
