Never, EVER let a stranger into your home, especially when you’re alone. Even if you’re an adult, if someone you don’t know asks to come in, send them away. It sounds mean but it’s a scary world out there.

I've listened to so many of these stories where the person didn't call the cops and often wonder if they heard of a similar situation leading to a murder later on and have a guilty conscience about it. Stuff like this they should always be called,.it's literally stupidity not to

I mean, they don't elaborate, but there could be many reasons to not call the cops. Parents with criminal records, threat of police violence, living in a neighborhood that cops ignore anyway, etc. Cops aren't always the competent heroes in blue that they're painted to be, unfortunately.
Imagine being the guy who scared Mr. Nightmare. That’s gotta be some sort of accomplishment there.
In a way, we got to thank the person who scared Mr. Nightmare in his trailer truck, cuz that’s what inspired him to narrate his old trailer horror story and maybe got him to create the channel we all know and love today.

Prison stories would be good. There's so much pain and violence in them. There's one in New York that's from the revolutionary war. It's still actively used today. When I was 18 I received a state sponsored vacation. Anyway the old timers shared with me that it was haunted by a violent spirit. Known as "the man in black pajamas". In the morning there was always someone covered head to toe in bloody scratches. These are grown men, tough men crying. I thank God I never had an overnight visit. The problem is at night it's common for you to hear men crying. Not because of a spirit but due to our poor decision making. I was only a guest there 3 months before I was moved to a step down facility (I moved to a dorm style medium security).
For those curious it's Auburn state prison. There's a portion of it that you can see from the yard that goes underground. You're told in no uncertain terms that areas is off limits. If you approach it then you risk getting shot.
The fact that Mr nightmare has a story is so crazy. This man makes my day better.

After making his living for quite a few years on other people’s scary experiences eventually he’ll have one for himself
Situational awareness is very important in keeping yourself safe. Always be aware of what is going on around you and if you sense someone acting strange, trust your instincts and don't put yourself into a situation where that person can be alone with you. It's better to be a little paranoid and stay safe than to disregard your instincts and get yourself into trouble.

The Air Force definitely hammered in situational awareness into me. I’m always keeping tabs on what’s going on around me. Even when driving, if I see a vehicle has taken the same turns as me after like 3, I’m watching and wherever I’m going, I’m taking turns I normally don’t take to get to my destination and seeing if they’re still taking the same turns as me off of main roads to establish that it might not just be coincidence
I remember once my brother and I were home alone, and this couple knocked on the door. I don’t remember what denomination they were apart of but basically they were some of those people that go door to door trying to convert people to their religion. They asked us if our parents were home. We told them no, thinking they would just leave a leaflet or something and move on, but they then immediately walked into the house uninvited and sat down, which then led to like 30 minutes of them proselytizing to us until they finally left. It was both awkward and scary. Even though they were obviously doing something wrong as a kid it feels like you can’t disagree with an adult, even if they’re a total stranger
I can only imagine how scary a home invasion must be. I imagine most people see their house as a “safe haven” but forget it isn’t a magical barrier that can keep all forms of danger out. If it’s not an impenetrable fortress, you’re not 💯 % safe.

I know Mr. Nightmare has done school horror stories before. I think specifically doing teacher horror stories could be a good theme for a video. Every student deserves to be taught by a stable person with good intentions, but that sadly is not always what happens. At the same time, teachers will meet all kinds of people in their classroom and are bound to have had a student or even a parent who creeped them out.

The most wild part of a lot of these stories is people saying "I should have not left the door open" or "I should have been more aware of my surroundings." I guess it's not inaccurate to say these things but it breaks my heart to hear those types of things from the VICTIMS! No one should ever go in a stranger's house even if the door is open. No one should ever follow someone home to creep on them. Gosh the world today is a sick sad place but glad to hear these people are okay.

Not just keeping the doors and windows locked, but keeping any curtains, drapes, or blinds drawn all the time is a big help. If they're drawn all the time where you can't see in, how do you know whether they're home or not? If you go somewhere, do NOT post on social media until you return. Robbers use that to select their targets.

Honestly, I get worried just taking lyfts. A lot of the lyft drivers in my area also do doordash, so if one of the people who have delivered to my apartment is also the person who drives me to work, they know both my apartment number and when my apartment is unattended. I don't have a car rn, I work overnights and I have to walk past some really shady bars to get to work, so this is the safe option. It just... creeps me out if I think about it too long.

I listened to all these stories while I was home alone. I liked all these stories. It's a good thing some people keep their doors locked when a stranger shows up. I'm glad all the victims in these stories were okay. I agree with the person in the third story. It does sound like there was an attempted robbery. And the guy with a mask must have been the same guy the girl interacted with in the second story! I figured it was him when there were sounds.
I'm not allowed to answer my door to anyone unless it's a family member or people I invited to my house.

Seems like a theme of a lot of these stories is that no matter how tough and in control you'd think you'd be, chances are you'll feel the exact opposite.
Always lock your doors and please call the police and someone you know to help you if someone is trying to get inside your house. Check your surroundings always, I was stalked many years ago by a creepy stranger and I called the police and made a report and they checked video in the store I was stalked in, I also saw him watching other ladies in the bra department of a store. No matter your age be careful when alone.

I was about 14 or so (as a guy, was in pretty good shape) and a guy knocked at our cabin door while my parents were out. My parents like storm doors which are easy to talk through but just growing up my parents are lock phobes (they ALWAYS lock doors lol) so it rubbed off on me. I opened the main door and said hello. The cabin we own has neighbors pretty close by and I'd never seen this guy before. He said, "Hi, I'm Tim, I live a few houses down. I have an emergency, can I use your phone?"
First off, if he lives a few houses down, just go home? Second, he didn't seem that frantic or concerned about 'the emergency.' I said, "What's the emergency, do you need 911?" He said, "It's just an emergency, yes I need 911." I said, "No problem I'll call them for you and tell them to come to this location. Wait here." I shut the main door. I went and got the cordless so I can relay information, went back, and he was gone.
Neighbors had no clue of a 'Tim'. My parents told me I did the right thing, and we called local authorities anyway to give a description of the guy and let them know the situation. Never heard back from them and never saw the guy after that either. We alerted our neighbors who noted the incident and to inform their kids/guests/etc.
Obviously if it was a real emergency any person would've said, "Okay" and described the situation and been perfectly fine waiting while I dialed 911. These creeps use social engineering to make people get frazzled and not thinking clearly and then take advantage. Now if I see someone come up to my door and it's not delivery or I don't know them... I come to the door with a firearm nearby. Fortunately I have plenty experience shooting.

But in today’s day and age…my husband is always yelling at me, ya didn’t lock this door, the front door was totally unlocked, the patio, was half locked, ya need to lock it like this! 😄😁😆😂🤣🤦♀️🤷♀️ I don’t try to but sometimes one gets left open. We never try to, it sometimes just happens. But stories like these always remind me to double check my locks. Ya just never know! Can’t be too safe!

I've not found another horror story channel that i can lay in bed and listen to for hours or until i fall asleep, there's just something about this voice and the way he tells the stories that works. Others get too excited and enthusiastic or sound like a robot. The only other story channel i can listen to is MrBallen.

that third story… There wouldn’t have been the next morning I called my parents… It would have been. I called my parents that night to tell them the police were there. I would not have hesitated and would’ve called 911 the second I heard that tapping the second time.
