Great analysis on the straight flush pot! Idk if I would have realized the hand that beats me loses the other board. Seems obvious now, but I don’t play two boards enough either to think like that. Does that make up for all your bomb pot losses yet?
Big fan of the vlog! As far as the KK hand on QJ9r, I like checking back flop for deception/pot control as that board smashes his cold calling range. I like to see that you're playing more 1/3 instead of 1/2...try and maintain that if your bankroll can handle it. I'm a TS reg and I think I saw you playing the 1/2...sucks they don't let you film there. Try and make it back to TS as the 1/3 can be quite good esp on weekends.
I’m not sure how much poker you play or if you are just starting out but some advice for you as a 2/5 player, so maybe this isn’t too applicable in 1/3: 1) when squeezing, you need to go massive. I’m talking about 20$ open +call, needs 150$ squeeze, a full 3X the pot. Your raises are too small also for regular sized 3bet and 4bet. In one pot, with your 15 open, and 45 3bet+call, you went 120, when this needs to be close to 175. 2) while being in the nerves is always hard as a poker player- don’t actively hinder your own profit margin. That QQ vs JJ should be ran 1 time, especially with double rake. You are overwhelming favorite. But the real problem is, you could also comfortably fold the QQ preflop. Even if you think JJ is the worst hand he does that with, he still has AK and KK and AA. You didn’t have that much invested in the pot, so it’s fine to fold QQ to avoid a flip. 3) try to show bluffs that will help you get paid later. Showing bluffs like missed draws does nothing for your image- that’s normal type of “forced bluff”. Try to show bluffs where you turned pair into a bluff like (55) on a A34T9 board. Etc.
that's a good observation you make that if he had AA or KK he might make it 180 or 200. And for the KK hand you can check flop, you're either way ahead way behind and AK is protected when you want to check that back. Board might be better for the cold caller who might have more KT QJ J9 T8. But if you can let go on turn barrel betting the flop turned out fine. X back call turn and might hit a king or a ten, and lose the same amount
Could definitely find a fold with the kings, sometimes even on the flop. Small blind cold call 3 bet range consists of lots of middling pocket pairs 77-JJ and broadway cards.
Wow, don’t think I would have folded those kings there, nice play. I figure 99 was his primary value range, as jacks or queens have a pretty good chance to get 4 bet (unless this player doesn’t 4 bet enough). I would have figured he could be check raising flop and betting turn with hands like JT, QT, so pair plus open ended draw hands, which I would have been fine getting the money in against. Could you elaborate on your thoughts more if you see this? Aspiring low stakes player btw
On the 87 hand where the flop comes 9TK, you need to let that go because a Jack is not a clean out bringing a 4 liner to a straight. But also, someone could already have a higher straight. Doyle Brunson in Super System warns against drawing to bottom ends of straight.
Advice from a dealer.....When you call someone's bet and they say you're good, ask to see their hand because they were called so they should show their cards and wait until they show their cards so you can see what they're playing/bluffing with. Plus, you'll be able to see their cards on the vlog so viewers can see as well.
@@jackh2608 I don't know it's a losing hand until I see it. I'm not going to get aggro and demand to see if they toss it into the muck without showing, but I'm definitely not turning my cards over first.
What ever information you think you’re gaining doing this, isn’t worth being a dick at the table. Plus shit like this will make people playing for fun not want to play, which is literally making the game worse and negatively effecting your EV
11:37 how on earth do you lose to straights on both boards? Is someone in there with Th8h or something? Cause the only other straight on the top board is KT, which is a boat on the bottom?
I played my first 1k pot last month August a4 suited limp UTG almost raised call 15 river action i jam 250 get called flush v nut flush 3 way river action 2 all ins inc me
DBBP You have to win one hand, meaning flop if you DONT have the best hand on at least one board, fold, or pay the extra price. Post flop fold better move always. It's swim or sink.
Can't go big on that QJ9 board... you don't need much protection as a ten gives you a straight. I also wouldn't want to side up on a board where sb has a lot of sets and two pair.
Dukey, The reason you don't show your bluffs is that it's giving the other players information on how you play for free. Make them pay for it! The only time I might do this is in tournaments; it can set other players up when you have a made hand and they call your big bet because they saw you bluff awhile back... It's a very effective strategy that's won me many a large pot over the years.
Dukey I’m from the area, I’d love to rinse you heads up, it’d be great content you can set it up as some guy in your chats talking shit so we play heads up for 2k, what you think?
Don’t let the wannabe GTO wizards tell you not to occasionally show the bluff. Keeping your opponents on their toes will definitely get you paid off in other scenarios down the road.
I think on the poker kings that was a call. You had six outs with the straight. He bet big out of fear. I think you could have jammed to get a fold or called due to pot equity you only need 3-1 on that which you had. 180 on 300 is a over bet to get protection and I agree you needed to bet more on the flop
I disagree. This player was on the tighter side and I’m not given the right price to draw to 2-6 outs. I also could have been DD if he had the unlikely KT!
@14:00 i actually think you'd rather not have Ac as a check/raise candidate using your reasoning. now instead of getting value from all the nut flush draws + worse pairs + gutter combos you are saying you'd rather get value from less flush draws + worse pairs + gutter combos.
In that QQ vs. JJ hand you said you were flipping for $1k but you were like 80% to win so not exactly a coin flip. Small mistake but other than that solid vlog. I just subscribed.
You can't be folding the top few percent of hands on the button after a 3 bet. Too many times they will be 3 betting light in early positions with AQ, AJ and pairs thru JJ. Can't be folding there. 10s ate relatively easy to post flop and match with many boards and have bunch of removal on many boards. With that said if you have some player info and know he's only betting with hands better i guess you can make a lay down once in a while but mostly you need to be seeing a flop in position with 10s. If you're folding 10s there then you can be exploited by early positions with weaker hands. Good job otherwise, keep up good work
