Look, I'll always straddle if the table is doing it, but I have no problem with someone that doesn't want to do it. Some people may be shot taking in the game, or just don't want to do it. No players owes anything to the other players at the table, and a player absolutely should be able to play the stakes that are listed without being ostracized or pressured. I actually have more respect for the player that stands their ground than the player that does something they don't want to just to go with the flow. JMO though.
I agree with this. Lex O is out of line to mention it more than once to the guy. It gives him an advantage and he should take the edge. If all the other people want to be idiots and play at a disadvantage, that's on them. If their desperate to play higher stakes, then go play higher stakes.
Same thing happened to me at the 5/10 at the HR soon as I sat down they said they’re doing an auto straddle. I only sat down cause I was waiting for the 5/5/10 plo. I said good for you but never straddle. A couple of them get upset and started mouthing off so I said I’m not going o straddle I’m waiting for another game I’m third on the list and when my names called I’m out of here so there just going to have to deal with it. They muttered under their breath but nothing g happened and I refused to straddle until I moved to the PLo game as I’m leaving one guy started yapping g again when I challenged him to okay HU plo for 5/10 or 10/10 and he finally shut up. End of story. The game is 5/10 not 5/10/25. It’s a casino not a private game so 🖕🏻

When I played $10-$25 a few years back I politely told the table there is no $50 straddle coming from me, but you guys keep doing what you do ;) Nobody really seemed to really care. Non straddling NITs run off the whales. I’d rather get the comps from the casino and lose 5-10k at the roulette or craps table than to give my $$ to a boring, grinding, angling, NIT. About 6 months ago, a guy like this jammed 2k preflop with AA and I snapped him off with 7/3 suited because I was up 8k and wanted to smash him. He reloaded for 5k. I tipped the dealer $50 and the brush $50 and asked them to take my chips to the cage before the guy could even get his chips reloaded….I looked right at him and said….”You’ll never get these chips back, the Peppermill will… but I’ll never sit in a game with you again”! How bad is that for the other players? They lost opportunity because of that douche! 😂😂 Your assessment was spot on and I agree with you, most big players don’t mind and enjoy the company of other recreational players, regardless of the straddle or gamble threshold. At worst, the limper squeezes and he is forced to fold preflop. I don't get it

Yes. But if the whole table straddles, you sit at the table and you don’t want to. But they are. You can move to a different 5/10 or lower your stakes. It’s clear you can’t handle 5/10/25 I’ve went to a casino, where I wanted to play 1/2. I came with 3 bullets 900 I came to the casino, the 1/2 game, ended up being a 2/5/10 25 straddle. by the end of the session, 5 hours stacks sitting around 7-10k
8k raise is a stronger play than the all in vs VIP, even with limited behind. It actually shows more strength than the all in given what you have behind. Gives you an opportunity to navigate the flop and bluff if you don’t get put all in pre. If you do get shoved on pre after your raise, you are probably beat and get to chose weather you want to gamble or live to fight another day. Either way, enjoyed the vlog. Great stories and hope you get to grow and learn from playing bigger games.
This is possibly a case of being in a game that is getting too big for you to comfortably play. The A♣️5♣️ shove was a gamblers mentality, not a smart poker move. Just my opinion, but if you are constantly either walking away a winner, or broke, you are crossing the line between playing cards and gambling. At the 1/3 and 2/5 levels the gamblers were the guys you ate for breakfast. Don’t be on the menu due to pride. As always, great content and thanks for sharing!
I play at Hard Rock a couple times a week....1st video of yours i am watching, will watch more. Guess they don't let you record in the big game for the VLOG? Chris here.
BTW I play 5/10 and gladly straddle but also don't give af if someone chooses not to unless of course it's mandatory established before the player sat down. Had to pause the video. All in blind hand... not something that I'd personally do... but definitely a good show. Edit* Added comments* Hi Lex, I am back... I had to pause the video and come back to finish it later... so, after seeing the entire thing, I have some additional comments. I've met you a few times (I'm a local rec player) and even enjoyed a conversation. I certainly follow your vlog and would dare say that I've learned a thing or two by osmosis. I am incredibly impressed on your apparent discipline and ability (skill... luck, or combination of the two) to move up in stakes. That withstanding, you're a player that does this (poker) for a living... my world is completely different, in that I am a Recreational player... semi-professional wannabe. I disclose those fact to point out... brother you found a good game and was up $20K!... in a matter of hours. As a business (of poker), that's a good day f'ing anywhere. Your instinct to book the win and leave, was not a bad thing in my opinion. I am not critical, because I've been there and also left it all on the table. As a friend that wishes you continued success, I would say... sometimes a short session and a win is not a bad thing. All the best!
Well that was an absolute cluster fuck of a session. Really appreciate the effort and very open and honest review of said session. Hopefully that stays as one of the worst sessions you have ever had. I'll be watching out for the next vlog very eagerly as per usual 🙂
Poker and life intertwine at times. Sounds to me that even though the dollar loss is life changing, you grew as a man and as a human being. Poker is your job. Your profession. One of your passions. But it doesn't define you as a man. My condolences upon your loss. My congratulations upon your emotional growth.
If it's his job and he's taking it seriously, he'd learn bankroll management. He'd also learn that if he's playing a game where the money matters to him and it doesn't matter to the others at the table then he's at a huge disadvantage.
Lex, that was the most depressing end to a poker vlog ever. 😢 For some reason, I thought you were going to end with a big win. Now I have a headache and stomachache. Please excuse me while I go throw up.
I get it Lex, respect putting your money up to make a point, and taking the loss like a bawse! Whenever there is a discrepancy less than 5$ at a table that takes more than a minute or so ro resolve, i regularly find myself throwing money to resolve issues that have nothing to do with me, to shut people up and move the game along. I fuggin hate a doosh who has 2k in front of him arguing with a dealer over a dollar, whenever i spend my money to solve someone elses dispute i like to mention to the doosh responsible how the 3$ doesnt mean shit to me
Lex, just a very minor suggestion for your vlogs. When you record narratives from your kitchen, the audio level is much lower than the rest of the vlog. If possible, adjust volume up a bit during these segments, perhaps in post. (Nice Hershey's bar in the background!) Keep up the fantastic vlogs! Cheers!
As a general rule and though it could be completely wrong, I refuse to apply the "big blinds left" philosophy to cash games. I'd rather burn the $5k I have left slowly than one shot on a mediocre hand.
Another great vlog Lex, sorry about the ending! However, I am in agreeance with the crowd that thinks the guy shouldn’t be pressured into straddling. He came there for 5/10, he doesn’t have to do it imo.
I’ll be honest Lex the up beat energy you were putting out in the beginning and Middle had me thinking you had a great sun run. Unfortunately I was proved wrong, but you know what? I think it’s all the more impressive that you did film this the way you did. Sounds like you had some good self reflection, and are moving on to the next game. Good luck/skill with the upcoming stream games.
Lex, you have too much backbone, too much honor and too much shame. You can't be the life of everybody's party. You went all in with this guy because it was good for the table. And you didn't want to hit and run. Too much sacrifice. Set some limits on that. It's poker. We're all trying to kill each other. If you want to be kind spring for a headstone...
Seriously. This guy is nuts. I lost three grand one time ina. Five ten plo and wanted to die after. Couldn't imagine losing forty grand in one sitting esp when up twenty and esp when shot taking basically. Gambling addiction is a serious problem man. I know from personal experience.
@@uhhmike it’s easy when you are winning. Takes a different type to handle the downswing and minimize the loss. I’ve seen many make that punt out frustration with the rest of the stack but damn. I’ve never witnessed a $20k punt. That’s brutal.
Appreciate your honesty and the emotional rollercoaster that happens during the game we all love Another option with the 60k hand maybe three bet pre to 8k then rip all in on any flop being first to act (knowing you were going all in pre anyways)..might’ve got them to fold but who knows. Always easier once you know the hands, was a good chance villains could’ve folded preflop to all in too

Tough one Lex! My $.02 Have you thought about the pre-flop raise size on that big pot? Smaller raise on that one, no? 2k and a call, you do better with a 5-6x raise to 10-12k, with a flop shove on good flops don’t you think? No need to shove pre to make it big enough to get better to fold. Also gives you an escape hatch if somebody shoves over you pre or you get an ugly flop. Obviously the game is always easy in hindsight, I get that. Still love your stuff though, you are a great player just think you got a little too caught up in the moment on this one.
If you're here for the complaining I'm here for you. No player should ever have to take shit for playing the game that's posted, the game they signed up for. If they don't want to straddle, so be it, live with it. And trying to act as if it's only 'keyboard warriors' or 'people have never played 5/10 or 10/25' who disagree with you is nonsense. The last NL game I played was 100/200 but mainly play PLO or Big O nowadays. I also always straddle when there's even a hint of the majority of the table straddling. I'm pro straddle but again, crying because a player wants to play the game he got put on the list for is just amateur hour.

man, that was tough! I think you are right, poker is a mental game and that the side that one has the most control over. here's to those big pots going your way further down the line 💪
Love your videos. Love your attitude. Risking $50,000 to defend $2,500 leads me to think that a reevaluation of the stand up game may be a good idea.
respect for always keeping it real with the hands and the emotions...keep grinding brother
Straddling is OPTIONAL! When a player is expecting to play 5-10 and it’s a 5-10-25 game that changes their budget relative to the game size.
You’re not very funny.
Yes. But if the whole table straddles, you sit at the table and you don’t want to. But they are. You can move to a different 5/10 or lower your stakes. It’s clear you can’t handle 5/10/25 I’ve went to a casino, where I wanted to play 1/2. I came with 3 bullets 900 I came to the casino, the 1/2 game, ended up being a 2/5/10 25 straddle. by the end of the session, 5 hours stacks sitting around 7-10k
these types who comment this have no idea what playing in a big game is like, the table dynamics. just ignore them.

You will coming back stronger Lex.I also play stand up +25/50-200.It happens. You learn a lot from all this.GL to YOU
8k raise is a stronger play than the all in vs VIP, even with limited behind.
I subbed because of the all in blind, great to show him what’s up.
Wow Lex, what a rollercoaster game, get'em next time😁
Very zen of you, this definitely will prepare you for even greater achievement 💪
Is that Caymus on the counter behind you? Don’t leave that standing on the counter Big Pippin’😎
Chris here.
Great vlog and story telling. You’ll get em back Lex💪
Gamble Gamble!
Seriously, though, you're a hero Lex.
The flip made the video even more fun. I enjoy the videos boss
Ouch! Money comes to hard for me to handle that kind of loss. More power to ya Lex, the stress!
It’s crazy Lex was just geeked about getting back from that end of year $60k losses and now he’s back stuck that same
Amount
Lol you can't make anyone straddle if it's such a problem then stop straddling this isn't grade school
BTW I play 5/10 and gladly straddle but also don't give af if someone chooses not to unless of course it's mandatory established before the player sat down. I've been given shit for taking "too many" breaks and "hit and runs" because I needed to leave, poker players don't need to explain themselves we're grown...once again I'm all about "etiquette" but respect others choices not that serious imo
You seem like you’re great for the game ;)
@@lexopoker I appreciate that and I understand the bias because you and many others actually play for a living which makes a huge difference in perspective.
@@lexopokeryour like one of those baseball managers who cares when a player smashes a 0-2 pitch for a home run when they are up by seven runs. Who cares. Get out of the im a nit, or care what other people think. Try making as much money as possible playing poker, or stop playing.
@@lexopokeri think you are reacting and not responding in wisdom on this one
The "rampage" is strong in this one.
Nobody cares about people's sob story... In reality
Glad to see your doing higher stakes, good luck!
Kudos to you for being honest about everything, sorry to hear about about the $50k to $0 slide.
Your all-in bluff with 99 against those deuces was fantastic. I don't know why Action Dan called. How often are you doing that without and Ace?
Lex, that was the most depressing end to a poker vlog ever. 😢 For some reason, I thought you were going to end with a big win. Now I have a headache and stomachache. Please excuse me while I go throw up.
He doesn't have a bankroll for games that big.
Why the fuck does this comment pop to the top, fuck this comment and you commenter
wow brutal comments. i liked the vlog dude, great content. wish that 50/100 was streamed
You the man Lex, salute to you for the honesty 🫡
I love the all in blind ! That was great
Great job! Keep at it. It's not losing if you're learning.
I fuggin hate a doosh who has 2k in front of him arguing with a dealer over a dollar, whenever i spend my money to solve someone elses dispute i like to mention to the doosh responsible how the 3$ doesnt mean shit to me
Thanks for sharing lex good luck in future 🙌🏼🙌🏼
The Q9 vs AK on the last hustler stream killed me bro ! Felt bad for you
Poker life is a grind. Keep Ego in check, don’t listen to cliché, stay in +EV situations. Life is an adventure
I'd rather burn the $5k I have left slowly than one shot on a mediocre hand.
thanks for sharing - appreciate the mindset commentary
Another great vlog Lex, sorry about the ending! However, I am in agreeance with the crowd that thinks the guy shouldn’t be pressured into straddling. He came there for 5/10, he doesn’t have to do it imo.
Great play by play of the big game. Had me hooked. Better luck next time.l against those VIPs.
Love your attitude Lex.
If your up 20k and your not use to this big of a game tell the table your staying only for another orbit 😂
Hit and run baby. Love it
Lex, you have too much backbone, too much honor and too much shame. You can't be the life of everybody's party. You went all in with this guy because it was good for the table. And you didn't want to hit and run. Too much sacrifice. Set some limits on that. It's poker. We're all trying to kill each other. If you want to be kind spring for a headstone...
@@CLGilbert he won’t get that for a few more years
Is that a liter of Caymus Cab on your counter?
What an entertaining vlog. Ty for the stories
Giving u a like for MASSIVE BALLS to make the A5 play u did!! MUCH DESERVED LIKE!!!
That allin with no straddeler was hell of a fun 😁😁😎
Top two pair “a little thin…” bro that is the most obvious jam in the world
Great descriptions
Appreciate your honesty and the emotional rollercoaster that happens during the game we all love
Another option with the 60k hand maybe three bet pre to 8k then rip all in on any flop being first to act (knowing you were going all in pre anyways)..might’ve got them to fold but who knows. Always easier once you know the hands, was a good chance villains could’ve folded preflop to all in too
Getting called by JJ after going all in with Ac5c for a $60K pot. Runout ensues: Kd 6h 7h Qc 2s (1x only)
LexO's celeb poker coach's reaction (Michael Scott/The Office): " No! God! Please! No God! No! No! Nooooooooo!!!"
Tough one Lex! My $.02
Have you thought about the pre-flop raise size on that big pot? Smaller raise on that one, no? 2k and a call, you do better with a 5-6x raise to 10-12k, with a flop shove on good flops don’t you think? No need to shove pre to make it big enough to get better to fold. Also gives you an escape hatch if somebody shoves over you pre or you get an ugly flop. Obviously the game is always easy in hindsight, I get that. Still love your stuff though, you are a great player just think you got a little too caught up in the moment on this one.
Way to play aggressive poker - tough result, but seems like you played well!
Did you play your best?
Where the you usually park? When in Florida, I play there and the parking garage to the left of the entrance is a pain
Damn Lex now you know how Mike McDermott felt against Teddy KGB. Keep pushing!
Hey Lex! Good luck 🍀 in Los Angeles. What dates are you there? All try and swing by and say hey.
Hey Lex. I just wanted to tell you I have been watching other poker vloggers for several years and just found you. I wanted you to know I really enjoy your vids. They are every bit as good as the "top vloggers" Don't know how I missed you buy glad I found you. Great work and thanks, most honest vlog out there imo.
Thank you for your honesty.
