Good stuff! I can't wait for Biggs to be brought back to life. You may need an .010 oversize top ring for Biggs though.

Yes I measured it tonight and it’s bigger. My parts search continues. I might just send it..😂

Glad you checked those cam lobes Willy👍. The only engines I've delt with had a steel sleeve or electroplating on alum. cylinder walls, didnt think solid alum.cylinders would hold up to the heat and wear? Briggs looking good👍

The new cam should be an improvement over the old. Thanks for the suggestion. The aluminum cylinders work I guess if you have the right rings. I’ve been trying to get new rings but having trouble with parts. I’ve bought two different ones and they both didn’t fit. These Briggs parts numbers…🤯🤯 I’ll put it back together with what I have and cross my fingers it works better. Thanks for watching!!

I think Briggs & Stratton called it Cool Bore? I know they made a boatload of them and they worked. I've seen aluminum bores on some exotic high performance car engines too.

Shouldn’t have got started with these old engines.. Parts are hard to find!

@@DIYWilly I went to Briggs training school 20 years ago and became a Master Service Tech. Then never worked on any. Go figure. I remember them telling us that they were going to slowly stop supporting the flathead stuff even then.

Desperately trying to find correct rings. It’s ashamed they stop the support on the flat head.
