I think the nicest thing about the vexor for PvE especially for newbros is that it is an absolute unit for a T1 cruiser, it can face tank massive amounts of damage (especially with a t2 tank) which makes it quite forgiving for a new pilot.
Thanks so much for doing a non-gila drone ship. Just tether outside any of the high sec structures and your drones will heal up from damage. Goes way faster than changing out fitting to remote rep your drones or waste isk in station repairing them.
@@captainbenzie No problem. Please remember not to go up to random player structures in low or null sec though. I figured it would be helpful to repeat that if this is a newer player video.
Sporting an alpha friendly Vexor Navy Issue with the drone hold containing faction drones only. Design aspects aside, the Vexor is such a versatile ship with the added "thump-thump" factor of the medium hybrids, this platform is awesome. Quite a step down from my T5 Gila, but there is something very satisfactory seeing hybrid turrets connect and remove large chunks from your target's future aspirations. As mentioned by someone else, I recommend swapping out one of your nano pumps for an anti-explosive one to plug that explosion gap. Or if things seems rough, find a way to fit an adaptive nano plating in the low rack. Very nice guide of the Vexor and it's capabilities. Appreciated. Cheers!
Thanks for the 1mil skill points, keen to try Abyssal runs gonna setup a Navy Vexor that's been collecting dust in my hanger. Will see how I go, I'm def bit rusty I haven't played this game for like 6+ years plus.
Agree with you on the skins bit. Personal fan of slapping the exoplanet hunter skin on everything, especially amarr ships. Also the vexor will forevor be the little space potato along side the dominix as the big space potato

I wouldn't recommend this fit for abyssal newbies for a couple of reasons: 1. A Tessera (the rogue drone battlecruiser spawn in t1 abyssals) will shred your drones and you're likely to lose the DPS race against it if you get close enough to attack it with your particle cannons. It's capable of one-shotting drones so juggling them won't always work -- recalling drones takes time. 2. An unfortunately-placed automata suppressor (especially if it's medium-range) can turn relatively easy waves into long slogs since you have to move and drag enemies around before you can safely launch your drones. One of these is present in the second room in your video, but it spawned far away.
Hey Captain Benzie, Here's a long on for you. Please read to the end, I'm having an EVE related issue I hope you can help with. I'll start with this, I found your channel a couple months ago and it's wonderful. I'm an Alpha player with a couple years playing under my belt. I really appreciate you doing such a great job of explaining these ship builds. That is something I have struggled with, getting the biggest bang for your buck and keeping these ships stable. I have put together two of your suggested ships already. The rather expensive Caldari Drake and this latest one the Vexor. I already had a Vexor but I changed up the fit to match your suggestions. The first time out with that thing I was killing it, The DPS of your fit was almost twice what I originally had, however about an hour into my very first outing with this new killing machine, I lost it... yes, I died, not because I was over my head in some wormhole... oh no. My computer screen will just go blank. The sound is still there but not video. Pushing buttons frantically to try and get things back under control is not acceptable in a battle situation. In the past I have had to reboot a few times to try and get things back... I have play this game on 2 different computer's and this has happened on both. It has gotten to a point where I'm just not going to leave the hanger for fear of loosing my equipment. I have read dozens of forums and follow countless suggestions and am really sick of it. I really don't want to just mine asteroid belts in Hi sec space with my Venture. You seem very knowledgeable about this game and I'm hoping you have had some experience with what I've read is an EVE problem and might have a suggestion other than what the forums all say... reset this and clear out that... it's BS man. Help if you can. Thanks, keep up the good fight. I'll see ya in a near by Hi Sec asteroid belt... Mike
The third nano pump is of no use; using just two give a higher total repair bonus due to the diminishing return factor! Instead slap a resistance reinforcer (i chose explo) on it, raising the weakest armor-res to about the same point as therm/kin.
I wonder how an Augoror Navy Issue would work in that firestorm, also would 2 nano pump and 1 nanobot be a better rig load out due to diminishing loss on the 3rd nano pump?
I've been testing the ANI in C3 ratting sites and it works there, so probably. As for modifying this fit, quite possibly. As I state in the video, this isn't my fit, it's a CCP suggested one so probably a lot of room to improve.
The fit is just a CCP suggestion, but I'd be worried with Medium Rails and their tracking. A lot of the targets are small and fast and will get under your guns quickly.
@@captainbenzie Even with my subpar skills I can get the rails to half the tracking of the blasters, and the ability to apply 80% of antimatter damage at 30km seems really appealing to me. Id think between the web and the drones close enemies under 10km wouldnt be the issue. Being limited to 5-10km with the blasters really saps overall dps while in the room Id think.
I dont know what I was missing here. Fit the ship, got 2 times in a row a tower doing massive damage to the drones, while enemies were moving away from me which caused long chases. So in the end lost 2 stacks of drones and barely could catch the ships to do damage. In the end cold not reach the escape gate in time by maybe 10s. So yeah, absolutely not viable option or I just got too much bad luck.
What is best ship for T1 abyssals? I was doing Retribution but I suck at knowing which distance is best per room and die about a fifth of the time which makes it barely profitable.
Pick a ship and learn it. The more you're swapping looking for a "best" the more you're Skilling into different weapons and fits. If you're struggling with T1s, run a bunch of T0s. You'll do them quickly so can still make good ISK and you'll start to learn the rooms.
Thanks for another nicely narrated video on abyssal - but OMG you bled your Vexor into hull on a T1??! My T1 punisher never gets hurt that bad in T1 electricals. 😂 still thanks!
I kinda have few question if it is not a problem. 1. I started to play on 2016 then gave up, never really payed attention to skills and so on. Because of that i am now capped on 5mil which is maximum for Alpha clone. Because of that I am unable to learn Drones 5 and because of that other skills as well. So is there a way to unlearn some skills I wont probably use so I can learn Drones 5 ( provided it is a must for this build ). 2. I am now doing Tranquil Exotic in like 4min or less, did some 200 or so never lost a ship. That give me about 15-20m/hour more if you get a nice drop. I am looking and how much loot you are getting and it seems you are getting less with more time spent. Is it just unlucky or should i stick to Exotic?
1) Basically no. Extractors require more than 5m so unless you inject above 5m then extract (which is pointless) your current skills are capped. I'd work towards eventually PLEXing Omega or paying for a weekend pack or a month. 2) If Exotics work for you, keep doing those! This video was about testing a sample fit suggested by CCP, definitely not saying it's the best option, more a "does this work"!
@@captainbenzie thanks for a quick reply. One more question then. If I cap out, let's say I use omega 7 days free and manage to learn drones 5 and other skills, what will happen when omega expires?
@@Novosadjanin82 happy to help! I did a full video on Omega, when to get it and what to do with it, but to answer your question directly: When you drop back to Alpha, any Omega exclusive skills drop off. If the SP you've used go into Alpha skills, they stay.

Depends on the loot. Naturally, T0 has lower loot than a T1, but it is chance. Beyond that, make sure you're comparing cruiser to cruiser, since frigates and destroyers get more loot.
Just because you can fit it, doesn't mean you should. There are probably dozens or more skills that need to be upgraded to fit this ship efficiently/properly. It'll probably take you months. As a new player.... this is what I hate about this game.
yeah, vexor is a pretty easy ship to fly relatively competently. and you can get most core/support skills to iv pretty quick (80/20 rule), like within a month or so, less if you utilize the various free sp sources, an optimal remap, and implants. also: if you are looking at abyssals, you have probably already been playing for a bit, maybe even having completed the sister's arc by this point
