    I splurged and got the 100" x 70" with an extra shelf. This thing is so tall that I need a step stool to get the smaller dumbbells from the top shelf. I don't regret it one bit. Maybe next time I will get somebody to help assemble it; I nearly decapitated myself when installing that top shelf. But I was in a hurry, as usual. Enjoyed the video.

    I noticed the same issue with nuts and powder coating on my Monster Lite rack that I took apart and sold last week. Replacing it with a Rep Fitness PR 5000 and Ares.

    @danesintexas Thanks for the video. For the dumbell shelves...are they a glossy powdercoat, similar to the uprights? Any issues with scuffing hex dumbbells, etc?

    How well do the nüobell dumbbells work on the dumbbells shelf, looking at doing the same thing and skipping the rack specifically for the nüobells.

    • @DanesinTexas
      @DanesinTexas  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never tried the noubells myself, but if the crate the weights sit in, is somewhat solid, it will work. If it’s really light and plastic it might not. Hopefully someone who has them at home will chime in 👍

    Once you added the 4th shelf - how many extra washers did you use total(in the entire rack). I just ordered mine 70X70 (with 4 shelves) and I want to put the extra washer to limit scratching.. thanks!

    • @DanesinTexas
      @DanesinTexas  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I used 16 total extra washers. If u got a kettlebell shelf and want to secure it with the bolts, then u will need two more...however, I didn’t do that. The sheer weight of the shelf itself keeps it in place just fine, at least for my setup. Also, the placement of the kettlebell bolts are a pain in the ass to work with. Hope this helps 👍

    Thinking about getting this to attach a couple rack mounted kpulley go attachments on. With all that weight loaded onto it, does it feel stable enough to do flies/rows etc.?

    Glad I did a search on TH-cam for this storage system. Would you recommend this system over what Titan offers? I'm on the fence on spending $1500. But, Titan's MSS is Out Of Stock.

      I haven't seen the Titan storage up close, but I can tell you this is insanely solid and Ive added quite a bit more since this vid. I was hesitant as well but glad I got this. There is also the regular mass storage system thats a little less than the monster mass; check out this short vid on it th-cam.com/users/shorts0fuvlg7x1TM?feature=share

    Excellent review on this, Danes. Best there is on this unit. I’m in the process of ordering but am curious how much you’re able to angle the db shelves. What the range? Will they bolt in flat if you wanted them to? Thank you

    • @DanesinTexas
      @DanesinTexas  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks 👊 just went and looked…it seems you can bolt the DB shelves about 1-6 inches in difference from the front to the back post if that makes sense. So, 1” angle down would be the flattest up to 6” fall angle down. That’s my guess. I have mine on 3 inch difference atm.

    • @AmbitiousAthletics
      @AmbitiousAthletics 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DanesinTexas that’s what I thought. I’m thinking of doing the 43 inch height but fitting in three db shelves. Knowing that they can lay that flat I think it can work. What do you think?

    • @DanesinTexas

      @@AmbitiousAthletics Did you end up doing this in the end? Just curious as to how it worked out as I was hoping to go for the 43 inch height with 2 flat shelves and a bumper/med ball shelf at the bottom.

    • @AmbitiousAthletics
      @AmbitiousAthletics 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rayjbb1494 we did. 43" with three db rows. The top shelf is almost flat, slight angle on the second shelf, and pretty steep on the lower heavy weight shelf. I'm not sure a bumper lower shelf + two shelves above that would work well. You might have a hard time pulling the bumpers out - might feel like pulling a book from the library.

    Would it be possible to fit 4 dumbbell shelves on there? Or could you do a kettle shelf on top to hold dumbbells and then 3 dumbbell shelves?

    • @DanesinTexas
      @DanesinTexas  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can fit 4 dumbbell shelves no problem. The top one would just be a little high up that’s all.

    Hey man, question. I see you have smaller plates on the bumper plate/med ball shelf. What is the width of those plates, or what is the spacing on the gap? I’d like to be able to fit all my iron plates on there, but I’m worried my 25s are too skinny.
    Much appreciated.

    • @DanesinTexas
      @DanesinTexas  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gap on that rail shelf is about 8.5 inches. I can even put my 10s in there if I wanted to, but I have the smaller plates 10s and 5s on a 6 inch plate storage pin on the side. I have bumpers , and 45s, 35s and 25s on the rail shelf now 👍 I hope this helps. I would maybe put some adhesive felt or rubber on the inner lining of the shelf so ur iron plates won’t scrape the powder coating.

    Would it be possible to fit 4 dumbbell panels AND a kettlebell panel, without making it almost impossible to rack and unrack the dumbbells?

    • @DanesinTexas
      @DanesinTexas  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it is possible, with the spacing I have on the two dumbbell shelves to continue that with two more shelves. The top shelf will just be a little high to reach up, but you would of course have light weights there anyways. Expensive but possible 👍

    • @DanesinTexas
      @DanesinTexas  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Mexi99 we have the 2-tier mass storage system where I work with a dumbbell shelf and kettlebell shelf. It is so freaking heavy as well. So solid. The monster mass 3x3 I got, was because I was eventually going to get a 3x3 rack to match. I ended up getting a different rack but I still don’t regret getting the monster. I had sold so much gym gear during Covid that I had money for it. If I didn’t have the 💰 I would get the smaller one. It’s still fantastic. I should do a short comparison video of the two. I’ll try and get it done by next weekend 👍
