What's seriously impressive about this and a testament to how underrated Tom Green really is is that this entire routine has no punchlines. Think about that for a second. This whole bit is sold on his impeccable delivery.

Yeah I saw a video of earlier version of this bit shortly after seeing it and it was not as unrefined. He totally nailed it in every aspect of storytelling, pacing/delivery, physicality, etc. I love great standup with choice pauses and knowing smiles and glances to the audience like he does here.

This reminds me of my own story. I was a junior attorney tasked with taking new recruits out to dinner. I picked an expensive restaurant since we were on the firm's dime. Halfway through the appetizers I noticed two guys way underdressed for such a fancy place. I asked the recruit, is that Dennis Rodman at the bar? The recruit replied I think the other guy is Tom Green? We couldn't for the life of us figure out what those two were doing with each other. It puzzled me for weeks until I found out both of them were on The Apprentice (which was still filming and was a long way from airing). It wasn't until I saw this just now that I realized it actually was a whole plot point in the show.

I still watch Tom Green Live almost every day. Especially Neil Hamburger videos. Tom started it all, in a way, and he deserves due credit. He's mocking it here but for some people it was a huge success in "podcasting".

I still watch Tom Green Live almost every day. Especially Neil Hamburger videos. Tom started it all, in a way, and he deserves due credit. He's mocking it here but for some people it was a huge success in "podcasting".
The fact the an absurd story like this that involves the characters that it does, only further convinces me that we are in an alternate universe.

I probably already posted a comment similar to the one I'm posting last time I watched it but It's worth saying again. Not a Tom Green fan, thought his comedy was corny and I wasn't a fan of it. This story here is performed brilliantly, a great bit, flawless executed, it'd be cool if Tom would have produced more material like he put together the telling of this story. Amazed me with this.

What a great story teller! This is the first "This is not happening" episode that I've made it to the end.
Aw man, when he mentioned his old internet show... that pause, that face... that is PTSD right there. Not even joking. I love this guy, I respect him, he's an inspiration and a role model. That was some kind of dark time for him. He was just a shell of his former self. He somehow became the butt of the kinds of jokes he used to craft. For some reason he just couldn't roll with it. It was like that scene from the old Superman movies where he lost his powers and got punched in the face and just couldn't hardly process what was going on. You see those eyes? Those rings like looking down at a couple tree stumps? Yeah, the internet did that. Yeah, *you* did that. You broke a legend. You know who you are! >;0
I guess a person can only take so much abuse even if that said person messed with everyone on purpose. At least people are catching up.
