Think it's a partial scam Noel. You only get to fly around the airport for a few minutes after paying for a point A to point B. Probably only one plane available to circle that airports and land again. 😮
As a former charter broker and former charter pilot this is app is definitely highlights the 'sleezy' side of charter brokering. The app is selling 'empty' leg or repositioning legs that the plane would normally be a non revenue flight or leg. The charter world is constantly canceling flights because they only serve the true paying customer or their owner, not some 'sleezy' app. This was always the problem with booking empty legs, they seldom pan out and I seldom ever sold one.
icl these flights are probably just flights these planes have to do to get the plane from one location to another, so its ready for a high paying customer
How did you get to $4000? $1000 for the app, $995 for the priority waitlist for the canceled flight, even if we assume the security deposit wasn't returned that's still under $3000...
@@spooders8424 probably have some law company take out a class action law suit and after expenses pay everyone included in the suit a $4.95 voucher for use with the charter company
Kudos for sticking with that. They seem to be a travel agent “selling” seats on otherwise empty positioning flights. You didn’t by any chance hang about to see the pax who got on it from IAH to LAS for the next flight? Likely not Vault pax - likely charter company Volato - the owner of the jet who recently had a class action from their former employees. I’d just fly Spirit and book 40 x $50 seats and go further 😂
The advert for that app says "There’s no additional per-flight fees, hidden costs, baggage or booking fees" but that's clearly not the case. It seems false advertising.
I'm so glad you did this episode. I almost signed up for this app with the hope of at least one flight also. I hope this episode gets at least enough views to recoup the 2500 spent.
Reminds me of those condo scams where you buy in and are supposed to get a place to stay like Orlando, but the only place available is podunk Tennessee (I'm from TN, so I can say that😊)
Noel you are the King of positivity despite the circumstances! If we could all take on your attitude towards what life brings our way this world would be a better place.
In the EU, most jurisdictions, this would certainly be very close to basic fraudulent behaviour (on the criminal side). You simply cannot charge someone 1k for „Membership“ without providing any services for that membership, even though Noel CLEARLY tried.
My guess would be that they are selling you a space on a repositioning flight. So a private client will hire the jet at full price (10s of thousands of dollars) and when that flight is done instead of flying the jet back empty to its home base or an airport for another private booking they try to make some money and fill these empty legs that why the options seem quite random and all over the place but thats only my guess.
I wouldn't pay any amount to fly on one of those. That is not a lottery, it is a rip off. The flight lasted longer than 4 minutes only because the aircraft had to be vectored and sequenced in a busy terminal area. Thanks for the video.
Those flights are more than likely reposition/ferry flights that would otherwise just go empty. These flights are by no means guaranteed to happen, the jet companies will do everything in their power to not have to ferry/repo a plane.
Just thinking. I've watched so many Noel videos. This channel has shown us all how to be understanding and patience, when things go not as planned. Thanks again Noel and family.
I can't imagine who would be interested in this (non)service. It not only costs you $2,000, for which you receive nothing but the vague possibility of a private jet trip if the stars align correctly, but it also costs you countless dollars in often unusable regular airline tickets to actually accommodate your travel needs.
They kept the $995 for upgrading to first place in a wait list for a flight they later cancel? I find this highly unethical, and it opens up the door for creative cash-flow creation. I wonder how many customers they sold first place to and later just canceled the flight?
I have some friends who worked for Volato the parent company and they went out of business and fired almost all of their pilots about a month or two ago. I suspect Vaunt won’t be around much longer.
Well you might not get a #1 Priority on Vaunt but you are always #1 on my watch list on Sunday mornings before church!! Thanks for the warning about this company!! Cheers to a wonderful week ahead.
Gonna assume the aircraft are otherwise dong empty positioning flights . Now if Concorde (bless her) was still operating and offering positioning flights from London even to Cardiff for mainainance.. just think of the extra revenue BOAC could have had...Sign me up sigh
I recall a similar service from years back. I think what makes me classify them as a scam is the advertisement. Had they advertised "a remote possibility to get on a uselessly short ferrying flight from difficult to reach airport to another like it", it would've been a fair game. But the advertisement had two cheery people explaining how they're flying all over the country constantly, giving an impression you're just jumping for a business jet to another all the time like catching a local bus. This was obviously not the case, thus I'd ranking it somewhere between false advertising and flat out scam.

Noel, you know what the problem is? You do this for a living but for the average person, who has the time to be checking nonstop if there is any flight available anywhere? Second, they canceled on you with the last minute what if you made arrangements to fly somewhere to pick up the private jet? At the end of the day it's just time consuming for the average person
So when you paid $995 to get the first spot in the wait list, was it not refunded when the flight was cancelled? Was the $500 ever refunded? Or did the wait list upgrade at least follow you to the real flight you finally took?
This review is hilarious but considering booking a flight on a private jet costs 10s of thousands of dollars, paying a couple grand on the **hope** of catching a random flight to a random location with only a few days notice is a pretty good deal LOL
The "empty leg" is often canceled because the original customer changed their mind or the flight was "sold" to another destination. It's a real crap shoot. Like the duck hunter pointing their gun out the window, pulling the trigger and hoping that a duck is flying by.
