Yeah the RT24 is an in-line 4. Tho somewhat in their basement Mazda does still have those 16X wankels that ran on hydrogen...iirc the ACO also allows basically any type of fuel now too...
The 787B was an incredible machine, also quite durable (in race car term). After the 24H of Le Mans, they opened the engine and saw that it could have run another 24H without any problems

But still, 134 is the ultimate of his build. Close thing to this thing was SLK340, but not screamy enough to surpass it
Because that is literally an F1 engine. The video is about engines that sound better than current F1 engines, it wouldn't be a very interesting video if it was just "the old engines sounded better".
@@VoidSixx The thing is, Judd V8 car never had any sound closely resemble to 2000's F1 V8 (of course because they only rev to 10k-11k like old DFV duh) both in old F1 or even in later WEC. You can count Judd V8 car that mimic modern V8 F1 engine sound with literally one hand fingers, espescially BMW 134 with the one that scream the most. All of them can mimic the sound due to unique single exhaust system (same thing in LFA exhaust system) So, it is still fair enough to say about It.
Just an FYI, the old Honda GP bikes (RC-166, RC-172 RC-174) all had gear driven cams because the chains at that time wouldn't take the stress of those incredible RPM's.😉

No, I won't change your mind...you're right. Honestly this video doesn't do it justice at all, but from inside the cabin it sounds INCREDIBLE. I know this from videos...I've been in/driven/owned some very nice cars but an LFA is just slightly out of my budget (it has an extra 0 on the price).
I'm dissapointed that both Pagani Zonda and Porsche Carrera GT haven't been mentioned. Even Jeremy Clarkson said "it sounds like an old F1 car" during the lap test of the Zonda F.

There are a LOT of really beautiful sounding engines, but the one I think sounds the best is a Honda 3 Cylinder. Yes, the legendary, High Revving e07a MTREK. Its a .88L 3 Cylinder engine with 3 independent throttle bodies(1 per Cylinder) that makes 68hp. It came on the 1991-1995 Honda Beat Kei Sports Coupe. The car itself weighed 1,673 Pounds. In the car, the e07a was paired with a 5 Speed Manual that helped it hit 10,000 RPM(limited to 9,000). Once you passed 5,000rpm, the engine would scream and it sounded beautiful.
