Some Xerox Altalink B8045/B8055 come with "Universal" toner accept. Them machines can to work with any toner cartridge part number xx1606, xx1604 or xx1683. How to make the Xerox Altalink B8045 accept any toner? When the machine just accept xx1683, the own part number.
Those machines are designed by Xerox to only accept one style of toner (Sold, Metered, or DMO) for the purposes of theft deterrence of supplies between machines on different types of contracts. I don't know of any that can take all different kinds whenever you want. Once it is coded to a certain "billing" type then it stays at that type and you can only use those style toners. Now... you can change from Metered to Sold just by inserting a Sold toner into a metered machine, but once you do that you cannot use Metered toner in that machine again unless a Xerox service technician changes the billing type on the machine on site. 006R01604 = Metered Toner 006R01605 = Sold Toner (General Public)
I love these "how-to" videos!
Thanks for this! In work and you’ve just saved me!
Glad we could help!

The most important you're deliberately not showing
Can you further explain what you mean?
