It was Yuichiro talking to Muichiro. You guys are just confused because of the similarity in the voice. Yuichiro and Muichiro are being played by one VA only.

Muichiro is not talking to himself in third person. It was Yuichiro's last words to his brother Muichiro. Identical twins have the same voice pitch
Thats Yuichiro talking about Muichiro as part of the flashback. Yuichiro is dead, Muichiro is alive.
We learned in S3E1 the originator of First Breathing had no heirs as confirmed by Tanjiro’s ancestor, Sumiyoshi. The Kamado family was a friend of Yoriichi.
We now see two twins who are descended from that lineage, somehow.
We’ve also met an Upper Moon that looks an awful lot like Yoriichi.

If what you say is true and they don't actually share ANY relation at all, not even clan, than That is a fault of the Author and her lack of research, not that of the viewers making educated assumptions.

Yeah. In this series it’s possible for people to share eye color and zero family relationship. The Tokito’s are more related to Yoriichi’s lineage (albeit under a different surname) than the Kamado family ever was.
Next episode we will see how much of badass Muichiro is... It will definitely one of the hype moment of this season....👀💨💯
From my perspective, at the end we were hearing Yuichiro's last thoughts towards Muichiro and the fact he believes in him. The way it was portrayed can be confusing to some people but the VAs are different so it makes it clear that Yuichiro didn't become Muichiro.
Kengo Kawanishi is the voice actor for the two brothers, the VAs are not different.

Next Episode should all be Muichiro vs Gyokko and judging from the animation from this episode it's going to be so Damm Good has the potential to surpass Gyutaro vs Tengen

Muichiro's name has interesting wordplay in Japanese. 一郎 (ichiro) means first son (ichi= one) (ro=son)
he is a twin, Yuichiro (有一郎) the 有(yu) means to exist, so the dominant twin Yuichiro has a stronger presence and personality in contrast to the gentle Muchiro who is the opposite of "existing"
無 (mu) by itsself does mean "meaningless" so his name can mean "meaningless first son" BUT 無限 (mugen) means infinity or eternal, so he took the negative (meaningless) and turned it into a positive (infinite)
Actually,
無一郎 = Muichiro
無能 = Munō = Incompetence = Not able
無意味 = Muimi = Meaningless = No Meaning
無限 = Mugen = Infinite / Limitless = No Limit
All starting with: 無 = Mu = None/Nothing
The comparison of the beginning of the name only have meaning on japanese.
"The "Mu" in Muichiro stands for "Munō" (Incompetence)"

the speaking was yuichiro speaking, because they are twins they have the same voice actor so the internal monologue was what yuichiro said to muichiro while on his death bed (literally)

The dialogue at the end was not Muichiro speaking it was his twin brother speaking about Muichiro. That's the misunderstanding you guys had on who was who at the end.

1) When the demon attacked Muichiro and his brother. Muichiro undergone a violent rage, this is the same thing that happen to Tanjiro when he suddenly ‘powered up’ when vs Daki.(the one time that Tanjiro almost died for not breathing).
However the aftermath, Tanjiro was grimacing from the pain. Same thing happened to Muichiro where after he killed the demon, his body felt heavy like lead and he had to crawl his way back into his house.
2) Muichiro was rescued by the Master’s wife after the demon attack but he suffered amnesia, while Muichiro was unable to recall his past. He was cold which was rather alike how his brother acted in the past.
3) The last portion of the show. It was just Yuichiro dying speech to Muichiro. Saying how he thought God and Buddha could not protect him, so it is up to him to protect his brother hence he was so strict to Muichiro.
It was definitely not a case of Yuichiro surviving and taking Muichiro name.

They took a hot min tryna figure out ab muichiro and his brother. It was basically just a itachi-sasuke relationship. He was always talking down to Muichiro but it turned out to be the opposite in the end.
Muichiro's older brother(Yuuitirou) and Genya's older brother(Sanemi) are deliberately strict (they have a negative attitude towards joining the Demon Slayer Corps )because they don't want to put their younger brothers in danger.（＝brotherly love）

It would have been a great twist. If the writer made it that muchiro was actually yuchiro who adopted his twin brother name out of guilt. And another flashback shows it was actually muchiro who save his brother. Since he was always wanted to help others. So yuchiro decided to live as his twin brother to fulfil his brother's wish.
Don’t forget about the blade that was is still being sharpened during the fight. That man can’t just take those cuts for nothing.
That at the end was just a continuation of the dying moments of Yuichiro. He was apologizing to God and Buddha and asking for Muichiro to be saved. And what he is saying is also to explain what he said before. He said only the Chosen Ones can save others. And now he's saying that Muichiro is one of the Chosen Ones. And Yuichiro explained the real meaning behind Muichiro's name. For reference: Mu means nothing. Earlier he said "incompetence" which would be "can do nothing", but now he's saying it means "infinity" which would be more like "limited by nothing".
