Hantengu's first 4 separate forms are based on a 4 syllable idiom in the Japanese Language, KiDoAiRaku, which is meant to represent the full range of Emotions a Human experiences. Ki(Joy)-Do(Anger)-Ai(Sadness)-Raku(Pleasure), this is why they were present as forms. Zohakuten as Hate was just the form of what Hantengu wanted for himself a strong young man who takes pity on and defends the supposed "virtuous weakling old man". Hantengu is actually in life a man who was a criminal and a compulsive liar, he had married several times and started several families until accused of dishonesty and presented to kill his family among other acts he committed in life. Hantengu has lied so much about himself, he has both forgotten who he even really is not even his real name and fully convinced himself he's this giant weakling who hasn't committed any heinous acts and everyone is just out to accuse him and punish him for no reason or anything he has done wasn't his fault. His resentment side was based on his resentment that people were trying to make him face responsibility and pay for the terrible things he's factually done and he himself denies having done or being responsible for, he resents them for not having pity on him. And at his core he's just a coward, hence why fear is his main body.
Exactly this. It felt much better than the typical "good guy turns bad after a lot of abuse". Not sure why Micky thinks the "bullied until evil" approach was better. Its such a basic formula for bad guys these days..
34:58 No, Nezuko is not under Muzan control like all the other demons. He can not know where she is or read her mind. The demon doctor and the demon she almost cured also broke the bond with Muzan.
I like that this demon’s past reveals himself to be a true monster with a victim mentality and no sense of responsibility. Normally they don’t show anything with demons who are just bad, this is the first time they just a person so. Both this guy and Muzan.
Which is weird that they're marketing it that way considering the arc is only a few chapters long and people are really interested in the arc after that
Think about it, Tanjiro inherited the Hinokami Kagura from his father. Meanwhile Nezuko has a fire-like Demon blood art that only affects demons. I think it’s safe to say that they both inherited certain attributes of “sun breathing” from their father in a sense, Tanjiro as a demon slayer and Nezuko as a demon who wields a sun-like power and hence is also immune to the sun. Not to mention she has been resisting Muzan’s demon blood since ep 1 and slowly evolving and gaining more control over her mind and body, as Tamayo mentioned that her blood is constantly changing. Nezuko has always been different, she was a pure soul who lived a happy life with a loving family so she wasn’t corrupted by Muzan like other demons were.
@@michaelblake746 it doesn’t tho. Breathing is used for all kinds of things like stengthening your body, your muscles, your endurance, even healing/stopping injuries like Rengoku taught Tanjiro. Even if it wasn’t in combat, Tanjuro practiced the Hinokami Kagura dance his whole life and using the breathing techniques
to be precise I think the blue spider lily that Muzan was looking for was ingested by Nezuko once, since the Kamado family used to live in the mountain side, when Nezuko was infected by blood, it mixed with the blue spider lily giving her the ability to conquer the sun.
It doesn’t explain it very well just yet but Genya doesn’t have any demon in him at all. I’ve seen a lot of people thinking he’s like a half demon half human hybrid when in fact he’s completely human but sometimes he eats a demons flesh which in turn allows him to temporarily take on demonic traits and abilities….which is still pretty badass if you ask me, especially when combined with the Shotty 😅
@@LukaNyan a few reasons I guess. For a start Genya cannot use breathing styles but his drive to be a demon slayer to be accepted by Sanemi drove him to unconventional methods of slaying demons. Also I imagine that a lot of demon slayers would not only be repulsed at the thought of even considering to consume demon flesh but at the very least would take some form of moral issue with it. Furthermore I think it’s like a unique "gimmick" to Genya’s character to help him have his own sense of identity within a very individualistic cast of characters.
I think he saw her through Hantengu. Or maybe Hantengu relayed that message to him about nezuko right before he died. He did say “Good work Hantengu” right after he found out about nezuko
Once again shoutout to my man Yoichiro for managing to almost kill Muzan back then. Imagine how much power you would need to make the unhinged Muzan scared of you!
I don't think the demons backstories are necessarily about making people feel sorry for them or making you root for the demons, but more about how Muzan is the type of person to exploit all these tragic stories for his own agenda. It's reasons upon reasons even more for us to want him dealt with for good.
After I watched Demon Slayer up to the end kf the Entertainment District arc, I decided to read the Demon Slayer manga, so I knew what was gonna happen. Didn't make the end of this arc hurt any less. 😭😭
Every slayers body is built for a certain breath style. The most recent mention of this I can think of in the anime so far is Tanjiro realizing he'll never be a master at water breathing and saying sun breathing just feels better to his body. Anybody can do any breathing but if they don't use the style their body is made for they won't ever be able to become a master of said breath.(eg. Tanjiro and water breathing) That's why offshoots (mist, serpent, love, sound, flower) were created. The creators learned one of the main 5, it didn't feel right and they modified and built upon their foundation. This is why I always say no breathings inherently superior to another. Even sun breathing isn't that special if you ignore Yorrichi being the 1st user, that guy can make any breathing style look like the ultimate breath style.
For more context, what Tanjiro did in this ep with thunder is no different than when he combined water and sun last season, he used the basics of water breathing (being adaptable) he learned from Urokodaki and applied it and modified his sun breathing to make it easier on his injured body. Anybody can do this and this is how multiple styles are created.
I think people overlook that muzan has no need for demons now because he never viewed the demon slayers as threats only a secondary objective to eliminate. The spider lily was all he cared about he didn't care about his demons dying or how many are left only that they searched for the blue lily.
I’ve been looking thru the comments, but haven’t seen anyone talk about it. So basically muzan created demons so that they could find the blue spider lily for him. By getting that flower he could negate the vulnerability to the sun. Now since Nezuko has conquered the sun he wants to absorb her so that he can walk in the sun and become the perfect demon king.
imagine being Tanjiro receiving the letter from the demon doctor lady "Hey it won't be long until Nezuko can be out in the sunlight" and then he looks over at Nezuko and thinks "she already has, geeze would've been nice to receive this letter before I got all worried that she had died in the sunlight"
Knowing she might gain immunity from sunlight in the future doesn’t say when. Not to mention that she was literally burning before she kicked him away, so he wouldn’t know it would trigger at the time.
Micky is legit the only personal I've heard to say he wish Hantengu would have yet another sad backstory...but then dude says he never gave a shit about backstories....the fuck? Most people agree it's refreshing that we were allowed to despite hantengu
Wasn't Micky the one complaining back in S1 how the story was getting repetitive with giving a demon a sad backstory after Tanjiro kills them? It's weird how now he wants a sad flashback...
Muzan can see through the other demons. What Jerri’s Nezuko safe is how she is so often inside the box or asleep unless they’re actively fighting demons. Also if you notice that last bit of medicine the doctor made got soaked in his blood. That’s probably what gave him that cracking for blood
For additional context, the Blue Spider lily only blooms during they daytime and only 2-3 days per year. When it's not in bloom, it resembles a common weed.
I liked Mitsuri's backstory and I prefer that it was different from the usual we get (although Rengoku and Uzui also had unique backstories as well). I wouldn't boil her backstory down to just "I want a man, I want to get married" as at the core of it was wanting to find acceptance for who she was without having to change herself to be apart of society. As everything about her wen't against the norm (especially during a period of time where women had even more pressure to uphold certain values, behaviours and beliefs and would eventually be forced to succumb to conformity). Her character based on this is a lot more relatable to me & if you want another female character that has the usual tragic backstory we also have Shinobu or Kanao to look to
In the last discussion Mickey said he miss the desperation and Demon Slayer hered it. I knew what's gonna happen cause I read the manga but it still got me 😭 this was my favorite moment in the whole demon Slayer and Ufotable nailed it. I don't have any idea how Demon Slayer mange to do this everytime
Muzan doesn't care about losing numbers. He only created demons so there could potentially be someone who could overcome the sun and now that a demon did it he has no need to create anymore.
When Nezuko had he flashbacks I was thinking how her life flashing before her eyes weren't from the time when she was a human. Especially with so many fight scenes in the flashbacks, it read to me more like reflecting on what they've been doing all since she was turned a demon; risking their lifes to save others. It gives a nice contrast for Nezuko who is not burned by the sun when willing to sacrifice herself and Muzan who goes "All I had to do is massacre people to survive" and whom Amaterasu wants to make a bbq out of in every second of Muzans life
people seem to forget, since Sun Breathing is the ROOT of all breathing, it makes sense that techniques for other breathing can be adapted to use with it as it contains elements of every style. He didnt "switch" to thunder breathing in that scene
As a manga reader. Altough i know it's going to happen. They added the montages of kamado's siblings and a beautiful soundtrack when nezuko kick tanjiro, made me shed a tears 😭. very well done ufotable.
My understanding of the "thunder breathing" stuff is that he's not actually using thunder breathing but a trait associated with it, which is total concentration breathing to strengthen the legs so you can go faster. Whether that's still considered using thunder breathing I can accept (they did use the animation after all) but it's not a thunder breathing *form* and most definitely isn't godlike speed, which is what Zen was able to do twice last season that Suraj thought Tanjiro did here (and even if he used it, it wouldn't mean he can also use it twice).
Something i dont think people think about is that, and its never really brought up ever, but if clothing could protect a Demon from the Sun, dont you think Muzan would just completely cover his body all of the time? I dont think just covering Nezuko with clothes would do anything to help her.
I thought the clothes of a demon (at least in this show) were basically an extension of their body, which is why they regenerate with the rest of their body. So, clothing wouldn’t really do anything.
Keep in mind that Muzan is ultimately a very selfish person, all he wants is to live forever as the strongest. So he created more demons only to help him with that purpose, to find the Blue Spider Lily and to gain power. But if he can conquer the sun by eating Nezuko, he no longer needs to share power with other demons.
people seem to forget, since Sun Breathing is the ROOT of all breathing, it makes sense that techniques for other breathing can be adapted to use with it as it contains elements of every style.
@TheNormies In the manga when Tnjiro beheads Hantengu he reports to Muzan before he disappears. Thats why Muzan says good job Hantengu in the reading room
I think the demons backstory wasn't just that he was a murderer and a thief, but also had a personality disorder of some kind. His claims that his hands would do things without him wanting them too, claiming he was blind when it was obviously wasn't, that all could have been lies, but I think it was implying that he actually believed that. To have his demon split up in a different emotions/personalities.
Mickey: This show is predictable and we know what's going to happen Also Mickey: They switched up the demon's backstory and it would've been cool if they tried to make you feel bad for him like they did most of the other demons
You weren't meant to sympathize with Hantengu's backstory. He was a mischievous old man who murdered and stole from the blind and pretended that his actions were never his own. His blood demon art, "Emotional Manifestation" allowed him to avoid any responsibilities even as a demon. He hid and pretended to be helpless while his emotions fight on his behalf.
The villagers are the people that make the swords for the whole demon slayer corps, they are extra important. Tangiro wouldn't live with himself if he let people die when he could have saved them, he is not a selfish person.
idk, bro. choosing over your only family member you have left over a couple of strangers is just not easy, especially if you're a hero who saves everyone like tanjiro. if it were me, i would choose nezuko over some strangers, tbh.
@@odysseus2k1the thing is every demon slayer would choose that family member over normal person...but they were swordsmith in comparison there were 3 and in his case nezuko was only single person not to mention a demon...in tha case you can't sacrifice 3 PPL over a demon if they are family or not
The point of Hantengu was basically that he's always been wretched and evil, BUT always making excuses for his actuons and never taking responsibility for them. And ultimately Tanjiro made him pay for it all and make him see he was always horrible even as a human being. He's wants people to feel sorry for him but he's objectively awful.
Genya isn't a demon at all. He just pulled a reverse uno on the demons and ate their flesh instead, which makes him temporarily inherit some of their powers. Nezuko is full demon, but her body has mutated in such a way that not even Muzan's has, which allows her to withstand the sun. Muzan became a demon through a combination of his disease and the Blue Spider Lily mutating his body. Also, Hantengu had multiple personality disorder. He would commit crimes, but deny them such a degree that he basically gave form to multiple personalities to bastion himself from the responsibility. The only real tragedy of his backstory was that he existed in a time where mental illness wasn't really as well understood and so he just became more and more deluded in his own lies.
Hantegus story is perfect and we’re not meant to feel sorry for him . He is a coward and always blames others and used his emotions to justify and pass blame which eventually became his clones. He is like gyokko and have no regrets just being the victim.
I cant tell if this is exactly it, but it seems like Hantengu's backstory wasnt that he was a con-man and a thief and a murderer. It was that he had multiple personality disorder, and that his main personality was the quiet, blind old man who would never hurt a soul. And he would have other personalities that would cause havoc or steal or kill people. The main personality truly didnt do anything wrong and believed himself innocent and frail and undeserving of the punishments he was getting, and was fearful of all the people that "picked on him for no reason". He just didnt know that he had other personalities or that they did those things, and when he became a demon, those multiple personalities became his Blood Demon Art. So the main body was still the tiny scaredy cat that truly believed he was innocent, and he probably was, he literally never attacked or fought back in any way, he always ran and cried about never doing anything wrong himself.
Muzon 100% doesn't care about replenishing demons. He never wanted demons to take over, he only wants himself to be the perfect creature. Creature. Every single demon he's ever sired was simply an experiment searching for the perfect body to absorb for himself. At least that's what I gathered from the way he was talking.
Tanjiro had his Rengoku moment this episode. Also, it's pretty obvious that the slayers can use other slaying techniques, especially if they've mastered total concentration. The only reason they might not do it is probably out of devotion for their teachers and their craft.
@@KallaTheYapper347 Sort of but it has been mentioned before in the anime once or twice that all breathing styles came from one before. Remember when rengoku's dad was cursing out tanjiro calling him that breath user who thinks he is above all others or something?
Both Tamayo, Nezuko and the Amakusa guy are free from Muzan's curse so he cannot see through them. He saw it from Hantengu's POV before he his assgot roasted that's why he thanked him.
I think you guys misunderstood Muzan's flashback. The medicine didn't turn Muzan into a demon it was preventing him from being one. When he was taking the medicine, he could go out in the sun and was weak, which stopped when the doctor was killed.
Muzan becoming a demon is unintentional. The physician is supposed to use to blue spider lily to turn him back to human after becoming demon. But muzan thought that the blue spider lily is supposed to make him immune to the sun.

I legitimately thought Nezuko was gonna go, first time I cried at an anime, and i did as soon as she kicked him up in the air. This season and last were outstanding.
I think people mentioned it and it wasn't in the anime but Mitsuri actually was Rengoku's tsuguko and she was so strong she kept breaking the swords when she used flame breathing so she had to have a special sword made that bends instead of breaks and adapt flame breathing into love breathing

I loveeeddddd this! Your reactions are priceless and they made me laugh. Now I apologize in advance for my loooong discussion lol I do want to point out that Suraj said that Muzan should make more demons, but Muzan himself he hated to idea of making demons since he wanted to be the one and only "supreme being" so essentially he was making demons to help him find the blue spider lily. The part of Muzan's backstory and Lady Tamayo scene were swapped in the anime for whatever reason. The end scene was great but it was an anime original, as cute as it was I thought the extra scenes of Hotaru(the swordsmith) at the end were kinda useless and they definitely could have done more time on Mitsuri's fight. Another difference is that in the manga the swordsmiths just bury their dead and mark their graves with the swords and then immediately pack up and move to another empty village they had waiting, as much as the anime was cute I like the manga since to me it shows what actually happens with war. There is no time to grieve and celebrate not with everything to come they have to get up and move since the swordsmiths are a vital part of the corps. Now on to what Micky said obviously this is my opinion but I don't think they fucked up on his backstory, if anything it was like a fresh breath since every demon we've fought has a sob story, this is the one demon that we have no need to feel bad for, if anything I hate him because of his nature in trying to portray himself as a weak man so he can get away with things, and so many people do that and try and take advantage. But yeah I disagree with Micky I don't think it would have been that compelling if Hantengu was just someone who was bullied. Another thing about the concept of Hantengu that I do love is that fear brings out resentment which turns into hatred which then blocks out all other emotions and that the concept of love and hatred clashes! Another point is "how did Muzan know?" Well since the demons are made up of his blood and such there's a special connection, we saw it back in season 1 when the demon with the temari(?) balls says Muzan's name and she then explodes because he knew that she said his name. Now mentioning that Muzan in fact CANNOT sense where Nezuko is, both Lady Tamayo and Nezuko are the only exceptions in which Muzan has no control over. And only Muzan and Tamayo can turn humans to demons, prime example being Yushiro. Tanjiro doing thunder breathing was phenomenal, I love the little flashback of Zenitsu telling Tanjiro about how it works, there are definitely tons of people who said "MC PLoT ArMor" which kinda true but since Tanjiro does the first breathing style which is the progenitor of ALL breathing I don't think it's far fetched that he can learn other moves. And no they are definitely not setting up Genya and Mitsuri, it is mentioned that Genya is just super fucking shy around ALL girls lmaoo classic boy teenager things. I'm super hyped up for the next arc! The Hashira training arc is gonna delve into some more backstories and there are gonna be some wholesome moments in there as well in my opinion! Super hyped and if sources are correct we'll be seeing the premier of the next season sometime between July-September 2024! Soooo that was longer then I expected I was/am super excited, sorry for the long rant lol
To clarify 35:20, the demons got there by the vase, the vase are expensive at that time and considered luxury items, so the 5th upper demon just spread as much vase throughout Japan in these 100+years, eventually one of the villagers found one and brought back to the sword village(since it is considered a luxury item, people tend to collect or keep it), which makes the demon able to teleport and find the village. For Nezuko, the blood is not connected like other demons. Like the lady demon doctor(Tamayo) said, her blood is special, the person they cured is out of Muzan's control, Nezuko is as well. Muzan noticed she conquered the sun through the feels of the 4th upper demon. If Muzan knows her location all along, then he doesn't need to send demons after him in Season 1, he could just ambush the butterfly mansion or even the master's mansion(which is another location he is searching hundreds of years), no point waiting, since we could notice most of the time he is out of patience. Demon Slayer's animation is really top notch, looking forward to the 4th season reactions. Great reaction guys, keep it up!!👍
I don't know if there *is* really a way to do the 'death fake-out' trope well, but this executed it about as well as any attempts I've seen. Raising the personal stakes with Muzan now targeting her directly makes it a bit more palatable. This show is absolutely gorgeous and a consistently fun ride, even if the storytelling isn't always the deepest - and this continues to be a great reaction series!
You guys said once that Demon Slayer is GREAT at making its fights feel like life and death. This season as a whole has been exciting, but I'd saybit wasn't until THIS episode that they recaptured that feeling. Tanjiro decapitating Hatengu was SATISFYING and BREATHTAKING.
Informational tip: Genya isn’t a demon at all 👀. He revealed as he bit through the wood dragon that he has a special ability to take on the traits of a demon when he eats demon flesh. Just an ability not a demon.
I was fine with Hantengu's flashback as it made sense for his character & what we had seen from him so far. During the flashback we kept seeing how he had a habit of constantly playing the victim and blaming everything else for his problems (his hands are to blame, he couldn't have done it he's blind) instead of owning up to his own actions. Which I feel is also expressed in his own abilities as well - his 4 emotions take the lead and are the ones who fight and kill people so they are to blame for what happens, as the main body is not the one killing/attacking anyone and can remain in a crying pitiful state while they do his dirty work. Zohakuten who later appears even backs up Hantengu's beliefs by labeling him as a small weak creature that only evil people would dare to harm. And while I do enjoy the demons backstory it was also refreshing to have one that shows that they were just shitty all their lives (like how Mitsuri's flashback juxtaposed with Muichiro's was different/less sad)
Tomayo just never wanted to make other demons. She gave Yushiro a choice and he accepted. Upper Moons can transform humans into demons if the person accepts and Muzan accepts. Muzan can read the minds of other demons, but he cannot influence the actions of those that have escaped his control. Gyokko found the Swordsmith village on his own, it's never explained how
i read somewhere that one of the villagers bought one of the Gyokko's pots and brought it back to the village, as he can teleport from one pot to another he found the village in the process.
Side note: If you notice earlier in the season (even far back in s1), Muichiro’s eyes look lifeless and dull. After he gets his memories back, they actually look bright and full of color.
14:13 theres a moment (unfortunately cut in this reaction video) where Nezuko's pink flames engulf Tanjiro's blade for half a second while he makes this final cut, and seeing that immediately killed me. in my mind, that was her parting effort, the last of her energy pushing his brother forward and helping to kill the demon.
Seeing smol hantengu being like "push it chew" and be likely untoppable ressembles Sonic so much. Like his vicrory battleroyale is only attainable by running and running until he gets one ring for one touch inmunity
The twist was under your noses the whole time! Towards the ending of the opening you can actually see Nezuko standing in the sunlight during daybreak and the last shot is of her bamboo muzzle on the ground.
@@Runaway-Reptar if it gets explained later on and it makes sense, then fine. I was thinking maybe Tanjiro and Nezuko’s family did something to Nezuko when she was a baby but who knows for sure

The flashback for hantengu was to show he kept running away from his crimes.
Cool story
Good guess, but breathing refers specifically to sword techniques. I'm not gonna say why, for obvious reasons
Not only nezuko but tanjiro withstand sun
He will become the new demon king who conquered the sun
It doesn’t explain it very well just yet but Genya doesn’t have any demon in him at all. I’ve seen a lot of people thinking he’s like a half demon half human hybrid when in fact he’s completely human but sometimes he eats a demons flesh which in turn allows him to temporarily take on demonic traits and abilities….which is still pretty badass if you ask me, especially when combined with the Shotty 😅
it eventually becomes perminent
@@houseofaction yeah…I just wanted to give a quick explanation on his current state without giving away any potential spoilers
why doesn't everyone eat demon flesh if it gives a boost and regenerating powers then
@@LukaNyan a few reasons I guess.
@@LukaNyanpretty sure it’s unhealthy too
I think he saw her through Hantengu. Or maybe Hantengu relayed that message to him about nezuko right before he died. He did say “Good work Hantengu” right after he found out about nezuko
Once again shoutout to my man Yoichiro for managing to almost kill Muzan back then. Imagine how much power you would need to make the unhinged Muzan scared of you!
i mean, he is more powerful than muzan. muzan is the 2nd strongest character in the kny universe, after yoriichi.
Haganezuka said its only the first stage because remember the technique takes 3 days to restore it
Every slayers body is built for a certain breath style.
Tanjiro and water breathing)
That's why offshoots (mist, serpent, love, sound, flower) were created.
Anybody can do this and this is how multiple styles are created.
bro, sun breathing is definitely the most superior, whether it's yoriichi or not.
@@odysseus2k1 What exactly does it do that other style's cant?
The reason Tanjiro was panicking was because he knew if he let the villagers die the Hantengu would get his strength back and could kill them easily
Didn’t Nezuko break out of Muzan’s control so he can’t watch her? Like with Tamayo.
For additional context, the Blue Spider lily only blooms during they daytime and only 2-3 days per year. When it's not in bloom, it resembles a common weed.
A backstory doesnt necessarily have to make you feel bad about the demon, its his story thats all
I liked Mitsuri's backstory and I prefer that it was different from the usual we get (although Rengoku and Uzui also had unique backstories as well).
It gives a nice contrast for Nezuko who is not burned by the sun when willing to sacrifice herself and Muzan who goes "All I had to do is massacre people to survive" and whom Amaterasu wants to make a bbq out of in every second of Muzans life
Him doing different breathing styles like lightning breathing was sooo dope also demon slayer is basically the Resident evil universe lmao
people seem to forget, since Sun Breathing is the ROOT of all breathing, it makes sense that techniques for other breathing can be adapted to use with it as it contains elements of every style. He didnt "switch" to thunder breathing in that scene
As a manga reader. Altough i know it's going to happen. They added the montages of kamado's siblings and a beautiful soundtrack when nezuko kick tanjiro, made me shed a tears 😭. very well done ufotable.
sucks that the normies cut of like 80% of that scenes and we didn't get to see their reactions😪
Vampire's basically
I thought the clothes of a demon (at least in this show) were basically an extension of their body, which is why they regenerate with the rest of their body.
So, clothing wouldn’t really do anything.
Keep in mind that Muzan is ultimately a very selfish person, all he wants is to live forever as the strongest. So he created more demons only to help him with that purpose, to find the Blue Spider Lily and to gain power. But if he can conquer the sun by eating Nezuko, he no longer needs to share power with other demons.
Tanjiro didn’t actually do thunder breathing. He just did the speed thing Zenitsu does. He didn’t do an actual breath.
people seem to forget, since Sun Breathing is the ROOT of all breathing, it makes sense that techniques for other breathing can be adapted to use with it as it contains elements of every style.
Holy water works with that Nezuko scene. TBH I went through so many emotions in seconds
The funniest scene in this episode is Hantengu going: "You don't feel sorry for me at all? Fine, then I'll just crush your f*cking head!!!!"
"Are we gonna meet Tanjiros dad" yea sure, we are gonna meet his dad, a 1000 years before the story takes place xD
Btw Genya is 100% human, he just has a unique ability that lets him take on demonic traits by eating demon flesh.
Mickey: This show is predictable and we know what's going to happen
Also Mickey: They switched up the demon's backstory and it would've been cool if they tried to make you feel bad for him like they did most of the other demons
it is all predictable. Just pointed out they didn't even put any effort into the demon backstories this season.
They watched too much Naruto and it's flashbacks
That Muzan backstory had some Sin City vibes going on.
Tanjiro had his Rengoku moment this episode.
Also, it's pretty obvious that the slayers can use other slaying techniques, especially if they've mastered total concentration.
The only reason they might not do it is probably out of devotion for their teachers and their craft.
No it’s cuz Tanjiro is a Sun Breather and every other breathing is derived from Sun breathinf

I do want to point out that Suraj said that Muzan should make more demons, but Muzan himself he hated to idea of making demons since he wanted to be the one and only "supreme being" so essentially he was making demons to help him find the blue spider lily.
The Hashira training arc is gonna delve into some more backstories and there are gonna be some wholesome moments in there as well in my opinion! hello future peps
19:17 I am crying😂😂😂😂😂😂 Also, that Heh Heh at 19:32 was on pint😂😂
You guys said once that Demon Slayer is GREAT at making its fights feel like life and death.
This season as a whole has been exciting, but I'd saybit wasn't until THIS episode that they recaptured that feeling.
Tanjiro decapitating Hatengu was SATISFYING and BREATHTAKING.
Informational tip: Genya isn’t a demon at all 👀. He revealed as he bit through the wood dragon that he has a special ability to take on the traits of a demon when he eats demon flesh. Just an ability not a demon.
13:00 Just wanna say this wasnt just for visuals Tanjiro could actually see inside his heart.
That's the thing that gonna blow everyone's mind in sunrise countdown arc
The way Navi bombastic side eyed Pat coz of the bug had me dead 😭
14:13 theres a moment (unfortunately cut in this reaction video) where Nezuko's pink flames engulf Tanjiro's blade for half a second while he makes this final cut, and seeing that immediately killed me. in my mind, that was her parting effort, the last of her energy pushing his brother forward and helping to kill the demon.
Seeing smol hantengu being like "push it chew" and be likely untoppable ressembles Sonic so much. Like his vicrory battleroyale is only attainable by running and running until he gets one ring for one touch inmunity
Mitsuri said she wants someone stronger than her. Genya can't even use breathing so it has to be a hashira
Okay Im sorry but the ant part was hilarious! and the weird exchange between the two people watching the episode was just pure comedy. That is all.
