The Craven Arms Train Fire | Jakeso (Transport For Wales Fire)

- Today I will be covering an incident which occured on the 22nd of May 2022 in Craven Arms when 3 Class 150/2 Transport for Wales sprinters hit a stolen mini-digger at 60mph, resulting in a large fire just beyond the Craven Arms area.

As a local I can give a little more explanation to the incident. To my understanding some local "travelers" attempted the theft of two identical mini diggers from a hire yard near craven arms, in favour of going through the metal gate they decided to "leapfrog" the diggers up the railway towards marshbrook probably believing that there were no more trains for the night? They leapfrogged them as they only had one generic key for the diggers and so had to move one then run back to move the other and so leaving them on the track. I've since hired the excavator that didn't get hit for some work round the house and Ill just say that the digger that was hit is an absolute reck!

You can only imagine how terrifying it must of been for the driver of that passenger train not seeing the diggers until last second and not being able to stop in time
early on in the video already the music is way too loud and making your voice hard to hear. in the future maybe have the music be quieter and your voice louder, thanks 👍

The units are believed to be getting repaired and will return to service
3:41 they still exist. They’re inside a building in Landore depot being repaired, seen them the other day. Still got fire damage but slowly are being repaired.

As somebody who has a close heart for 150242 it made me very sad to hear that 150279 also was involved of the fire as 150279 with be scrapped forever and 150242 has been confirmed repairs they are both currently sat in Swansea depot
They should scrap the pair of them they are Dreadful Trains.

The two units were taken back to Landore train depot by road - So it is rather likely they will be repaired to make up for the shortfall in traction - Especially now, when 175008 has suffered a major fire of it's own that might not be repairable.
It does look bad from a outsider's perspective, but from my understanding, the 150s should be relatively repairable.

Also, after around a minute the audio gets much better anyway, I know the first minute isn't great but after the reconstructed crash it gets much quieter!
Music us unnecessary in videos like this. It annoys me everyone seems to think you always have to have music.
This was a very serious crash that could have caused death and TFW to close down completely! And nobody even cares about British rail TOCS. So disgraceful and sad.
Quick note - "selfless" and "selfish" are antonyms. You said the action was selfless (thinking of others more than yourself) when you meant it was selfish (thinking only of yourself and not of others).
Yeah, it’s one of the things I noticed post upload, I tried to rectify the audio on another part too, it would warrant a reupload and that wouldn’t perform well, it’s taught me to talk slower however!
the residents that use the city line services are always directed to use the local bus services in case the service is caped. the unit the undamaged unit of the train was moved into the sidings at craven arms , however the driver didn' t engage the brakes properly and the undamaged unit went into the buffer stops

Hey! Just a little feedback but you voice is sitting a little low in comparison to the music. If you can, albeit this is an old video, just make sure your voice is a little louder than the music as the music can be a bit too prominent. That or apply an EQ to your voice in whichever editor you're using and increase the treble/higher frequencies so that we can hear you better. Good videos though otherwise!

On Sunday 22nd May 2022 is nearly a year ago 2 x 2 car class 150s are 150242/279 were damaged. Class 150279 is currently at Landore in South Wales 🏴. All class 150/2 currently allocated to Transport For Wales 🏴 are wearing the TFW livery except 150279 because it is badly damaged. Transport For Wales 🏴 class 150s are 150208/213/217/227/229-231/235-237/240-242/245/250-260/262/264/267/278-285 are a total 🟰 number of 36 trains 🚊. Transport For Wales 🏴 has 2 x 2 car class 150/2 on loan from Northern Rail to Transport For Wales 🏴 since Friday 15th July 2022 are 150269/270 to cover for the 150242/279 being damaged happened on Sunday 22nd May 2022. If 150279 is lucky 🍀 to survive, could it perhaps 🤔 go to GWR - Great Western Railway 🚃 or NT - Northern Rail by around perhaps 🤔 Wednesday 31st December 2025 (New Year’s Eve) 💥 💥🎇 🎇 🎆 🎆 🤩 🤩 🥳 🥳 🎈🎈🎈🎉 🎉 🎉 🎊 🎊 🎊 at the latest. All class 150s convey toilets 🚽🚽 🚻 , has bins 🗑 🗑 🗑 and all accommodation are non smoking 🚯. Class 150269/270 must retain in the second Northern Rail livery because they are returning back to northern England 🏴 by around perhaps 🤔 the year 2025 at the latest. Class 150/2 TFW - Transport For Wales 🏴 are likely to go to hopefully 🙏 is fingers crossed 🤞 that they will go to GWR - Great Western Railway 🚃 and/or NT - Northern Rail by 2025 at the latest. Class 150279 might be written off which means it could go to the scrapyard at anytime in 2023 or beyond. At present 💝, class 150s are currently allocated to GWR - Great Western Railway 🚃, NT - Northern Rail and finally TFW - Transport For Wales 🏴. Class 150/0 are a 3 car currently allocated to Northern Rail, class 150/1 are a 2 car currently allocated to Northern Rail are both have gangway within unit and finally class 150/2 are a 2 car currently allocated to 3 train 🚊 operators are Great Western Railway 🚃, Northern Rail and finally Transport For Wales 🏴 have gangway throughout. Class 150s are nice 👌 and warm inside, however doesn’t contain a carpet. Side of windows 🪟🪟🪟🪟 are open windows 🪟🪟🪟🪟. Current liveries are the 2nd Northern Rail livery, 2nd Arriva Trains 🚊 Wales 🏴 livery, Great Western Railway 🚃 livery, First blue livery and finally Transport For Wales 🏴 livery. 👍 👍 👍

Whether these units have received repairs or not, I'm not sure. The future of these units remains unknown, however if you travel between Llansamlet and Swansea on a train on the South Wales Main Line, both 150279 and 150242 which have remained un-serviced since the incident, can actually be seen at Landore TM Depot.

As TFW - Transport For Wales 🏴 closes for press, the 2 car class 150279 is likely to stay in the second ATW - Arriva Trains 🚊 Wales 🏴 livery is because it’s already badly damaged and is more likely to be off lease by around perhaps 🤔 Saturday 31st May 2025 at the latest when all of the 2 car class 150/2 are off lease and off lease and are honestly hoped to be transferred to three 3️⃣ other train 🚊 operators are GWR - Great Western Railway 🚃 , LNWR - London Northwestern Railway 🚃 and finally NT - Northern. I honestly think 🤔 that’s it’s too long and too late ⏰ to repaint the 2 car class 150279 is because it’s badly burnt 🥵 which it’s sad 😞. Oh dear 😅. Never 👎 mind. Perhaps 🤔 these things happen. All class 150 trains 🚊 are standard class accommodation only and are treated as provincial services in the southwest of England 🏴, northern England 🏴, west central England 🏴 and finally Wales 🏴. Until the year is 2025, class 150/2 will no longer be used for TFW - Transport For Wales 🏴 and will be replaced by brand new 🆕 trains 🚂 🚆 🚊. I suppose that class 150/2 might still be in Wales 🏴 in the year 2025 is for instance perhaps 🤔 September in 2025, however if it happens, it would be the 2 car class 150/2 is currently allocated to GWR - Great Western Railway 🚃. Class 150 trains 🚆 used to be used in Scotland 🏴, east Anglia and the city 🌃 of London until perhaps 🤔 the year 2009 at latest. In east Anglia in England 🏴 until around 2004, in Scotland 🏴 until 2005 and finally in London until around 2009 perhaps 🤔. All class 150 trains 🚂 🚊 🚆 have a toilet 🚽 🚻 in the DMSL - Driving Motor Standard Lavatory. TFW - Transport For Wales 🏴 runs its services everyday and public holidays except Christmas 🎄🤶 🧑🎄 🎅 Day and Boxing 🥊 Day. 👍

A very good report, but spoilt by the too loud background music - difficult to hear all that you were saying. An alternative solution would have been a higher volume from your microphne, which is rather low.
Update: just noticed others have already commented on the levels, and you've acknowledged it.
Seems you've used music from the YT library - so, without adjusting this, then the level that needed increasing was that from your microphone.
Hi, thanks for the advice, I edited it in Premiere Pro but didn't check over that part properly, I think I can fix the audio in TH-cam Editor however!

As others have said, don't talk over music, it makes it very difficult to follow, and if you are hard of hearing impossible. I gave up half way through. A shame as from what I could make out well researched and interesting.

@@Jakeso yes it does get better but background music is a big problem if you are hard of hearing. My advice would be to mute the music when you are talking.
@@mikedyble3648 Yes, unfortunately youtube stupidly doesn't offer me to change the audio, the only options I have is to mute that entire section entirly, instead of changing the audio file. I will be certain to be more careful for audience next time I do a video like this.
