    I can't believe how DISGUSTING things are down at the beaches now. Do the people who run the city think families want to come down and use the beach and sit on the gross pissed stained seating with their kids just to see all the homeless laying on the sidewalks? There is a no camping law they need to enforce it. LAPD needs to start doing something while standing around BS and start running all the bikes the homeless carry around and see if they are stolen. Maybe some kid would like to get his bike back if the LAPD did a little more while standing watching. Also, why are the homeless allowed to haul their crap inside wheeled recycling carts and shopping carts? The last time I looked they stated right on them that they are private property.

    Im a retired garbage man from SF, who has been retired for 10 years. All of these people they are dealing with are mentally ill, alcoholic , or drug addicts, or a combination of all of the above. You cannot treat them as normal people.. the way they are being treated in these videos is very compassionate and in my opinion too nice. Its just sad what our society has come to...but this is what we are faced with now and we have to come up with new ways to treat and deal with these people...most of them when offered with a shelter do not want it because it has rules and no drugs or alcohol are allowed...

    • @moogoogai
      @moogoogai ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Nope, not even remotely close. These people are here due to a long series of choices - they have lived off the system without working for a majority of their life; the system enables, allows, and even advocates their lives: whether it began by living in public/subsidized housing and getting free public aid, or living off the backs of others; really, if you think about it - public housing is 1 step above homelessness.

    Props to these hard-working guys and girls, but at this point its just Groundhog Day.
    The city has to implement a system where the streets are patrolled on the daly, way before all that junk starts to accumulate. If the city doesn't care about the residence being held hostage, then they have to care about the visitors, who wants to visit and spend money there?

    We get just as much trash when the general public visits a day use area. As a park ranger, we have pulled 25 lbs of diapers on a Sunday morning. Then there’s all the bottles and cans, pizza boxes, grills, sun shades, etc. This was also in California. It’s disgusting there are so many being cleaned up after. Sad to see state park rangers having to clean their areas of homeless with a trash truck.

    I think what confuses people is they see the city making all these homeless programs but they still see homeless people on Venice beach. They think that all of the homeless programs are sitting unused and wasted because all the homeless don't want to stop using drugs. The truth is that, as an example, out of 10 homeless people 8 are regular sane people and 2 are mentally ill/drug users. The 8 regular homeless people go to a shelter and use the city programs to get housing an eventually stop being homeless. These regular people are not really visible because normal people don't want to be seen as homeless. Those 2 chronic homeless are incredibly visible as you drive by them on the street. Multiply everything by 100 and you see a lot of chronic homeless but understand that they are the just ones you see who are not finding a way out. What's the fix for the chronic homeless? Incarceration and forced treatment. Many former homeless have said getting sent to jail helped them break the cycle and clean up their life.

    After watching these videos over the last couple years I see that if these people can put the effort they do in collecting so much stuff and carrying it around that they could just as easily get jobs. They clearly are capable, I have no idea how they can collect so much stuff and carry about building small villages over night just to have them torn down in a few days, then do it all over again. Industrious? absolutely, so why not just get a job?
    More importantly, Christ is King of kings and Lord of lords and there are no other ways to the Truth to have Life. Repent and make straight the Way of the Lord.

    When you see all the mess, taxpayer funds have to provide to clean up these multiple disaster piles of garbage you know why they are homeless It’s behavior behavior behavior. And the dystopian part is they complain that their stuff was destroyed or taken when they don’t even care about their stuff. Are we in such a place where we can’t call garbage garbage anymore or we can’t call addicts addicts anymore?

    Does the city of LA really need 6 adult, professional men and women just standing around staring at one unsheltered harmless human being? Why so many?……why so long? There’s GOT TO BE a better way!
