- Venice, Los Angeles - April 26, 2024: A comprehensive cleanup operation focusing on a homeless encampment was conducted at Venice Beach, involving a multi-agency task force. The team included Los Angeles Police Park Rangers, Los Angeles Police Officers, the City of Los Angeles Department of Public Works, Recreation and Parks, Clean Harbors Environmental Inc., the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA), and Councilwoman Traci Park's Housing Coordinator.
The presence of Los Angeles Police Officers and Park Rangers ensured that the cleanup was executed smoothly and safely. This operation was a collaborative effort between the Department of Public Works, Recreation and Parks, and Clean Harbors Environmental Inc., where team members, equipped with protective gear, focused on differentiating and properly disposing of hazardous from non-hazardous waste.
This initiative forms a crucial part of the City of Los Angeles' ongoing strategy to manage homelessness and enhance public health and sanitation, showcasing a strong commitment to these critical urban issues.
Additionally, the cleanup at Venice Beach includes a weekly focus on beach restrooms, often utilized as shelters by homeless individuals, aiming to improve public amenities and directly address the issue of homelessness. During these operations, LAHSA provides vital support services such as food, water, and hygiene kits to the homeless, embodying a compassionate and thorough approach.
Significantly, no citations for public camping violations were issued during the operation, highlighting the city's preference for supportive and sustainable solutions rather than punitive measures.
This activity is part of a broader set of regular actions, including cleanups every Friday along the Venice Beach Boardwalk, all supervised by Los Angeles Park Rangers. Such efforts are integral to the city’s larger strategy, which not only focuses on maintaining cleanliness and safety but also addresses the immediate and underlying causes of homelessness. Effective coordination by Councilwoman Traci Park has been pivotal in these endeavors, emphasizing a balanced and humane approach to tackling homelessness.

The Homeless Industrial Complex. 😂😂😂
If these park police came out to our florida beaches theyd get a massive awaking and lesson on how to run a clean and homeless less beach and boardwalk. No bathroom hotesl here. Supervisors, it would be well worth it to make this trip. Venise beach is getting an awful reputation which cuts down on your torists dollars.
Sounds like there is a bit of difference here, its sounds like in Florida addicts are not allowed to openly smoke meth, crack etc and sleep in city parks and no arrest and let go hours later with no charges over there, things like legal drugs etc were meant to encourage homeless to get help but its backfiring big time , citizens and business owners are complaining, in large numbers of drug use and crime. Many are starting to call this sympathy for the homeless programs a big failure ..
The democrats call, allowing public drug use and providing the needles to assist in their drug addiction compassion. Let the mentally ill and drug addicts sleeping on the beach,in the parks, on the sidewalk. The hardworking taxpayers don't need to bring their kids to the beach or to play in the park. They can walk in the street. Hopefully, they won't step on a used needle at the beach .
@@phoenixman8569The people in those positions of city & state authority made their decisions & this is the outcome.
It’s been getting worse since 2012-2014, IMO, & 2020 was overwhelmingly piling up with problems all across the US. Hopefully things can improve by the end of the decade.
Good to see the PD provide security overwatch for the Rangers now.
And just see the homeless users get nervous when the PD cruisers arrive!
Knock Knock Knock. Housekeeping.
A perfect team effort! Sanitation, Police, Park Rangers, Public Health , Street Level Social Assistance , Environment ! Way to go, City of Los Angeles!!!!!!
Homeless problem=job security
LOL there is no such thing as job security. But I get what you are saying. The homeless problem is BIG money. $$$$
@@sbss924 HOMELESS INC... if there is homeless... there is plenty of money flowing ... drug dealers are happy...
They sure seem to have enough money to buy expensive spray paint. Maybe they are stealing it.
No, they are huffing the spray paint, cheap high!
Every time that guy with the gray hair & beard is on SMCU , he his always complaining about something.
On a brighter note those police on, off road mini vehicles look like they would be a lot of fun to drive on the sand....
Seriously.
A neat little perk to the job. I worked on a tree farm once & I needed to go to the main office, supervisor drove me there on an off road vehicle & back. It was interesting lol
This is the kind of facility every mother would be happy to take her children into during a family outing to the beach!
They can just tell the children that the guy swearing is a clown ☣🤡💩
Right lock them up at dusk don't reopen until 10 am or so
Someone tell the male Daisy that it's called maintenance.
Omg it never ends with the homeless and leaving there mess on the sand keeps on going this must keep governor of the state of California to not solve the homeless problem nor deal with skid row I am sure that’s worse now it’s a real shame it’s also a waste to the outreach programs the homeless do not want help what a shame this keeps going
The homeless want a place that is free to continue to use their illegal drugs. Shelters, apartments, or motels don’t allow this behavior. That is why they choose to be homeless.
Who’s the goth lady in the long black robe & red shoes?
She’s a part of this outreach program to try to get these people into housing and counseling
I thought the same thing. Her choice in clothing...
A waste of 28 billion that your state spends to help homeless. Urine proof shoes for standing around doing nothing.
When they said defund the police i did not know they would then become trashmen.
Someone’s gotta clean up the mess, & it’s not gonna be the protesters.
At least there is progress, most of the homeless are out of the bathrooms when the rangers go through!
HOMELESS INC... ... there is plenty of money flowing ... drug dealers are happy...
Singer and Daisy make a good couple..😂
That psychedelic graffiti actually looked good whoever did it had some artists going on. The spider Webb was even cool.
All these states allowing this crap is crazy
It's rare you see someone actually wanting help good job!
I didn't know Darth Vader wore red shoes! LOL !!!
I was thinking vampire
🐻Yogi Bear: Hey B👀 Bo👀, looks likes Ranger Smith has got a band-aid for a boo boo.
35:50 I can agree with him 100%
The taggers already proved their point & police protecting it is admitting just how little power they had to protect it in the first place.
I wouldn't go near those bathrooms without rubber boots. That standing water looks nasty
Thanks
Those bathrooms are SO filthy and I don't know how ANYONE can want to sleep inside of them! You have to be stoned out of your mind to even consider doing so! 🤔🤨
Desperate times & measures.
It’s better security to sleep between concrete & a steel door, than sleep outside where your belongings could be lifted & your person is vulnerable.
Taker off doors...problem solved... too easy...
Why can't they save those shopping carts? Those are not cheap for the stores to replace.
$250 to $500 each. You pay for them at the store.

It never ends. It just shows you that employment opportunities are very long-lasting for those people, that on a daily basis, have to deal with the nonsense. 😊 🙏 please try to be nice and understand the human condition. For these homeless people have no other recourse. 😢
They threw away their ‘last resorts’ when they found a hard street drug dealer.
