Trick for removing studs: take an extra nut that fits the stud and make a “clamp nut tool”. Take the spare nut and cut through a flat all the way through to the threads. Now spin the nut onto the stud and squeeze it using vice grips etc. the nut will grip the stud on all sides equally and not damage them. I had concerns about replacing the old 4140 forged rods with a powdered metal rod. The forging was stronger and able to bend in hydro lock situations where the powdered rod would break. But we never had a bunch of engine failures due to the change to fractured powdered rods.

Electric start: Charlie is getting soft! 😆 By the way, 22 lb valve springs should give you that 7000 rpm, or more. And try the offset key on the flywheel to get more advance, and more torque.
@@jeffrykopis5468 Yes. I have similar gearing (9/60 tooth) on my Coleman and top out at 5K RPM around 47 MPH with a not so potent 196. It's a trail bike and has seen that speed only once. He should get at least that if not 50+ if he put it on the road. They were smart with that cam choice. A bigger cam would need higher RPM which would require a Juggernaut to get there. He can still do a Jugg but would have to change gearing if he doesn't want to top out in the 30's at high RPM. His current setup looks to work very well.
Ike @14 minutes you talked about cracked rods. It's a 90s technology for the powered steel rods. It's called Cracked Caps. The big end of the rod is broken. That break means the rod can only go back together the way it was broken. Down to micro scope level the various cracks make the rod stronger. When the rod is assembled you can't see the seam like you can on CNC stuff
When checking/adjusting your valve lash, keep a bottle cap of oil close to dip the end of the feeler gauge in before you check lash.....the resistance you get using the gauge dry vs. With a coat of oil on it can and sometimes will put your adjustment out.....

thank you ike! i now know how one of those governers work and ive wanted to know that for years lol lil peace of mind goes a long way when you tinker a lot of your friends bikes n what not. love yall chemistry. dont change!!
Definitely be careful with your valve train especially revving it with the stock components! Right now you can actually hear the lack of spring pressure has become the new Governor system which isn't particularly a very good thing! Sounds they are beginning to float the valves around 6300 - 6500 RPMs. I would be mostly concerned with the valve spring retainer coming off during a valve float and you dropping a valve into the piston guys. If anything, get a slightly stronger spring and better spring retainers to prevent you having a catastrophic engine failure!!! It's so worth the time and little money they cost now as assurance against this from happening. Otherwise great video as usual guys, and very informative 👍 👏 👌 😀!
If he's running the stock driver on the torque converter he never seen 6K RPM here. No way at only 44 MPH top speed. The stock springs can handle the RPM he was running.
I have the same bike. I bought some after market tires and it made it so much better gave it so much more control those tires that come with it they kind of suck.
The rods y’all were talking about are called cracked cap and they are made from powdered metal that is heated and pressed together and it is pretty much impossible to install the rod cap wrong unless you either did it on purpose or are not paying attention

You were thinking of "cracked cap" rods, like stock LS ones. They perform most of the machining then freeze the rod with liquid nitrogen to get it to break.
Better in the long run to remove head early on. You can check piston to deck, decide gasket thickness, perhaps use a flat top piston (cheap). Some Merc outboards used to do the fractured rod thing.

Electric start: Charlie is getting soft! 😆 By the way, 22 lb valve springs should give you that 7000 rpm, or more. And try the offset key on the flywheel to get more advance, and more torque.
He'd need a Jugg for 7K.
@@Deucealive75 Juggernaut? Maybe so.
I know I can't prove it but I totally guessed 1:05. Awesome video. Thanks y'all!
Finally get to watch it on time guys usually I can't get enough service to watch till later
I suggest switching the starter button to the other side of the handle bars to make it less awkward to start
These guys aren't very mechanically inclined if you haven't noticed
The new track addition is awesome!
My favorite part about billet rods, is that they’re more shiny😂😎👍🏼
I loved this video! Thanks for taking the time to explain the tips thoroughly!
Absolutely! I really appreciate the explanations
The inner workings and your explanations are interesting and helpful
When checking/adjusting your valve lash, keep a bottle cap of oil close to dip the end of the feeler gauge in before you check lash.....the resistance you get using the gauge dry vs. With a coat of oil on it can and sometimes will put your adjustment out.....
It looks like they took my suggestion and got rid of the lap time by hand. This is great. More accurate by far
Well hello to you all .. Much to my amazement.. this episode of car's and cameras..(It'll be fine) was one one of the best stage 2 installations I've actually watched in roughly a 1 year and a half..
Most excellent keep up the fantastic footage..
Paul ✌️
you guys should get one of those front disk brake kits from gps for his coleman. while gps only has the mb 200 kit, it apparently works also on the coleman from what the reviews on the site have said. i'm planning on snagging one for my coleman before i do any engine swaps.
Great informational video for new builders! 👌 👏🏻 👍🏻
That Coleman minibike looks like a beast, I love it, the only thing I might try is a 440 cc snowmobile engine. That would be even more scary :-)
i just tried sand for the first time ever today on my little trail 125 and i made sure to hit it all. and it did great at least to me but i never ran sand on a bike before. and that mini bike is bad ass good all around.
i had a stock 168f with a mikini on it , it was a beast and ran way longer than i expected, until the rear seal blew out and it siezed from lack of oil,
So happy for the laser addition finally. Good job guys
thank you ike! i now know how one of those governers work and ive wanted to know that for years lol lil peace of mind goes a long way when you tinker a lot of your friends bikes n what not. love yall chemistry. dont change!!
The stock springs can handle the RPM he was running.
i love these videos so much
I have the same bike. I bought some after market tires and it made it so much better gave it so much more control those tires that come with it they kind of suck.
Wow 😳😲 that motor sure has got some good power
Get the timing marks lined up you can pull the gear out you can also put paper towel shop towel stuff them in there it will hold them in place
The rods y’all were talking about are called cracked cap and they are made from powdered metal that is heated and pressed together and it is pretty much impossible to install the rod cap wrong unless you either did it on purpose or are not paying attention
I have a radical idea would love to see you build a mini bike version of Motocross side car racer
Be hilarious to see them try and fit that around the Grand Prix
@@WyFoster I can see charles hanging of the side while Ike driving oh my word can you vision that . I could not wach I would laugh as hard as the three man kart or three man mini bike
Ok you say you like the Go Power Sports fuel lines.Wait until you get whatbu sent you because it might be second on your list of favorites. Love the build video and can't wait for drag of the mini bike and that 670 two stroke gocart beast
You were thinking of "cracked cap" rods, like stock LS ones. They perform most of the machining then freeze the rod with liquid nitrogen to get it to break.
nooo dont change the ready set go!! keep the lasers for accuracy but the ready set go was tradition
You all should use the plasma cutter to cut out the rank numbers on your track times list. That would be pretty cool.
C and C y'all rock! Love the channel and content! I'm here for the algorithm! Peace
Lol I sneezed exactly the same time Ike sneezed haha. Good ole south east pollen is already floating around.
Wow they finally have charge system for 212 i seen them befor on those dtv shredder things but were hard to find. redbeard had video on it to
It's OK to wash them first. It makes working on them much more pleasurable and way less of a chance to get crud in the motor.
Better in the long run to remove head early on. You can check piston to deck, decide gasket thickness, perhaps use a flat top piston (cheap). Some Merc outboards used to do the fractured rod thing.
I just saw that wheelie out of the corner of my eyes where it basically folded in the back Fender that was awesome Charles
Sounding like it runs a lot better and it sure is quicker.
