You’re a wonderful story teller! I enjoyed this so much! You’ve given hope to women who aren’t even pregnant yet that there is hope that it can be a positive experience. Thankyou so much for sharing.
Just re-watched your video 😊 pretty sure I watched it when I was pregnant with my first in 2019 as I got and read the hypnobirthing book based on your recommendation. I’ve had 2 natural births since, both without epidurals. First was a very fast 2h precipitous labor, so glad the midwife said to come in after I’d only been having contractions for 20 min and my waters broke at 1am! Was examined after we eventually got to hospital and she said “…that’s crazy, I see in your notes you wanted an epidural, but you’re already 7-8cm, there’s no time for one. Your baby’s going to be here in 20 min!” 😱 Second birth was an induction as I was overdue 40+5 with Gestational diabetes. I spent a few hours in the birthing pool which was great and felt so nice, contractions were like period cramps. Then the last hour or 2 was intense and I my body just overtook and pushed the baby out! Total labor was just under 7h.
Thanks for the video and explanation was great! I'm 30 weeks, first baby and age 45! It was a natural conception so I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to be a mum and feel like it was meant to be even at my age. I just need to remind myself that my body is capable!!
I am 28 weeks on Friday and I absolutely loved this! I could just imagine it being my story, like when you were describing being in the bath etc. It was very real, positive and honest. Yes pain is just your bodys way of communicating that something is happening, like when I have a headache I try and drink a lot of water to help hydrate first before reaching for the painkillers, as if you kill the pain, surely the issue is still there?! I love that you weren't opposed to pain relief, you just happened to not use any, other than the tools and techniques and water. I would really like to have a birthing pool available now. I've been looking up hypnobirthing videos and stories for a while now, and yours is one of the best I've watched. Thanks for sharing!!
Ah what a lovely comment! Thanks so much for watching and congrats on the pregnancy! Not long to go now! Yeah I found water such an amazing pain relief and really calming, it was crazy what a difference I found it made! xxx
Loved your birth story! I am from Brasil and here natural birth is not very supported. As women we have to fight to have natural birth and it’s hard to get good information and here good experiences from women. Cease sections are mostly what happen here. I am pregnant with my second child and am looking forward to having a natural birth this time. Thank You for sharing with so many details. ☺️
Thank you so much for sharing. I cant express how great-full I am for your story. Most everyone else shares so much ugly and then say, "Oh but its the most beautiful thing". It has really put me off of birthing children and just made me so fearful. The way you say things a matter of fact, and just seeing your joy reliving it has settled so many anxieties.
I am currently 39W3D & I am looking forward to my impending birth experience. I will also be taking in skills from a Calm Birth course I have done and it is wonderful to hear the success of the practice, even from someone who was skeptical. Your story is fantastic & you told it so well. Thank you so much for sharing such a positive and raw explanation.
loved your story it was realistic but not fear provoking, honest, funny at times because of how we can have a plan but how labour can take different pathways but in the end its all ok and all meant to be that way. it was positive thankyou
I'm 30 weeks pregnant and practicing hypnobirthing techniques as well, planning on a water birth. It's so difficult to find birthing stories that don't involve some kind of pain relief, whether it's entonox, TENS, or something else. I've been told that everyone "needs" some kind of crutch to get through contractions but (fully aware I sound like a naive FTM) I want to think that my body knows exactly what to do and that I can handle the discomfort through natural means. Stories like yours are very encouraging, thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you for sharing this! I’m pregnant with my second baby (third child #adoption) and I had a very traumatic first birth. I’m trying hypnobirthing this time around and I’m feeling really excited and empowered by your story!!
Thank you so much for this! Hearing about such a positive experience is making me less fearful and more excited for labor. I was crying through the whole end of the video - it seemed so wonderful!
Loved watching this! Found it so interesting, as a student midwife (from Brighton!) its great to hear a positive experience from the mum's perspective. Thank you so much! xx
This was such a brilliant story and video. I am due to give birth in a couple of months and have been studying hypnobirthing. Your video has made me feel so positive and almost excited about giving birth. Thank you so much x
Thank you for sharing your story! This brought me some peace, I am 33 weeks pregnant and planning a hospital water birth. I hope I handle it with such composure.
Peaches you just need to keep reminding yourself that your body was built for this. It can feel very overwhelming at times but your body knows what it’s doing ❤️❤️❤️
This was such a good, realistic video. I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant and have been to hypnobirthing classes and read the book. I'm looking forward to going into labour but I'm under no illusions it will be all glitter and roses. Thank you for sharing your story.... especially as it was your first, so many videos I've watched have been 2nd and 3rd babies which, I'm told, are a bit easier anyway. You have a new subscriber! X
Thank u so much, ive watched a ton of birth stories bcuz i really want a natural birth this time, and urs is my favorite by far! Im 33 weeks now, and i really needed to hear something that was very real but also positive. Feeling a bit more confident now :)
Hannah Bagnall congratulations! You can do it! I loved hypnobirthing! So encouraging. Also read anything by Ina May. Birthing from Within is a great book. I had 2 big babies naturally (and you should see how big a baby I am when I have a tiny cold 🤭🤣🥰).
@@weisabunny Thank you! I did it! My son Jaxson was born all natural 7-16-19, and honestly nothing i read or watched or studied couldve completely prepared me for how intense and painful the contractions got after they broke my water right up to when i was pushing. The things that saved me most was cool washcloth on my head, mini fan on my face, and them telling me i was doing it when i was absolutely sure i couldnt, lol, i had a mix of growl/groan coming out w every contract so loud that my throat hurt for several days after and ribs were sore also from making those sounds 😨 and i was asking for the epidural even tho i knew it was too late for that. At the end he was ready to come but i had just a lil bit of cervix in the way and the midwives had me turn to my side (which seemed like an impossible suggestion at that time) and a couple contract later w some very hard pushing and he was out! And what a relief! Lol, the hardest and one of the best moments of my life 😅💓👶
@Hannah that’s awesome! Congratulations! Each birth is so different. And WHAT an amazing introduction to motherhood... we can plan... but it’s up to them ☺️. Congrats 💜💜💜💜
Loved your birth story! Thanks for sharing... I'm 20 weeks now, and really interested in hypnobirthing. Your story made me excited and confident that it's totally do-able!
Such an incredible story! I am at 11 weeks with my first pregnancy and planning on a natural birth. Even if I can't anticipate how my birth will be, it's so good to hear stories like yours. I will come back and rewatch this later in my pregnancy.
That's exactly how I explained the pushing phase to hubs - like reverse vomiting, lol. I'm looking forward to having another hypnobirth at home in March. My last, six years ago, was similar to yours (only, being in the water made me nauseous) in that it was almost entirely pain-free :) the entire labor was just over 3hrs, and my baby girl was 10lbs4oz!! I've been searching for peaceful/hypnobirthing birth videos now, because when I first was watching just home births, so many were scary to watch! Yours sounded lovely.
This video was amazing thank you so much for sitting down to tell us all about Jet’s incredible birth! I’m 22 weeks pregnant and just getting into hypnobirthing which is how I found you - what an amazing story :-)
I’m almost 35 weeks pregnant... kinda worried I haven’t “practiced” enough for this “marathon”/labor haha But every night I’ve been writing down positive affirmations so that I have something nice on my mind before sleeping and hoping that my subconscious continues to think positively. I’m hoping to go unmedicated with my loving husband by my side (: I love the idea of a water birth but my hospital in the United States won’t allow it... I can labor in the tub but I have to get out of the tub after a couple pushes. I also live very close to the hospital so I plan to labor at home as long as possible before going in. Anyway. I loved your story and the way you told it! You’re adorable. Good luck with your second baby (:
Laney Barker Honestly I'd just tell them to get stuffed and stay in the tub. They can't physically carry you out. I feel for you though. It would be crap to not be able to have a hospital birth the way you want it. No wonder people choose homebirths! Good luck also, fingers crossed and positive thoughts your way :)
34:34 this is so true, how we approach pain. I had 2 natural births. I was very lucky, credit taking hypnobirthing classes, books (Ina May, Birthing from Within). But I’ve had WAY worse migraines, cramps then my births.
I don’t know if you meant this to be funny, but I was cracking up throughout! Loved this birth story. Loved that you did a Lego project while you were in labor, that your husband thought you had the baby in the car, that you accepted the nurse’s offer to your husband for tea, that you compared having a baby to throwing up 😂😂😂😂. One of my fave birth story videos that I’ve watched and I’ve watched MANY!
Thank you for sharing your positive experience. I’m due in 3 weeks and some days I feel so calm about it and other days I’m just in panic mode. I’m really hoping to use hypobirthing techniques as much a possible. Xx
This was lovely. I wish that hospitals in America were more like this! You can't have a waterbirth in a hospital here. And you're labeled as a hippy if you want to have a natural birth. Anyway I am totally using hypobirthing techniques when I give birth in July. Thank you for sharing your story!
Yeah in America, my insurance won't even cover a home health nurse or nurse practitioner for my upcoming home water birth and there are no Midwifes in network that do homebirth. I'm not able to afford to pay out of pocket several thousand for a midwife, but almost all work exclusively with hospitals anyway. Thankfully watching dozens and dozens of videos on others experience gives me hope that despite the naysayers I can have a natural birth.
Thanks for your video. :) I had my appointment today about my birth plan and they said to call the hospital and come in with contractions of 1-2 every 10 minutes. But I bet every country is different. I'm in The Netherlands.
Thanks for sharing! Loved your video, you're really good at telling your story. Both funny, informative and positive. I am now 39 weeks pregnant, so I really need videos like these to calm me and make me excited for birth.
Amazing birth story! Love what you said about it being a mental state of mind that shows itself physically - so accurate!! I just uploaded my review of the Positive Birth Company, want to spread the word about how amazing it is!
Never sat through a video so long but loved every minute! Such an excellent narrator. I'm going to get every book on Hypnobirthing but at 20 weeks so few more weeks left
Thank you for your video. I am pregnant with my first and had this feeling that birth could be like what you explained but never actually heard someone explain it the way I wanted to hear it until watching your video. Good luck with the second
I love your story! I laughed, cried and laughed a bit more.. it’s so nice to have a good description of how everything happened.. it’s like I watched a money lol.. well done to you! :) and thank you for shearing your story!!
8:04 🤭🥰 that’s good luck! And a good nickname for your baby as you’re telling his birth story 🥰 “The ladybug spirit animal has always been a symbol of good luck. If you have a wish that you would like to come true, the ladybug symbolism is an indication that your wish will be granted very soon! When you chance upon a ladybug, make a wish and watch it fly away and make your wish come true.”
Oh wow! I’m not pregnant rn or have kids but am trying to cure the lifelong fear I’ve had of labour . I’ve been asking my guides / Angel for help and was led to this video. Ladybugs 🐞 appear to me a lot during auspicious times like when I’m experiencing transformation and intense emotions! So I see your comment as a very good omen! Haven’t reached that part in the video yet but I’m super intrigued to watch further!
What a lovely birth story! Thanks for sharing your experience, i'm pregnant with my first and currently reading the Kathrine Graves book! its so interesting! Your story has made me feel really positive! thank you! x
Thank you so much for this video! I'm also reading Katherine book and I really liked it! Very informative. Another thing, same happened to me, I thought that hypnobirthing is just a fluffy thing.. but then when I read the scientific part of its origin.. I belive it can be really helpful. I started on it a bit late as I m in my 36 weeks, but I'm noticing the impact already of what I practice to be calm & confident. Expecting my first baby and excited to live this empowering experience!
Thank you so much for this! I needed this, expecting in about 8 weeks and I want to take hypnobabies classes, but now I'm convinced maybe I should just read the book! You're such a strong amazing mama!!!
I like the book but I find the class helpful and I can remember certain things more that way - but I've always been more of a class person. Now everything is online.
I loved this! I’m only two months along but have decided to do a natural birth. This was awesome. I didn’t like the idea of a water birth, but you definitely gave me something to think about!
Fantastic first birth story! I can't wait to hear your second one :-) I am currently waiting for labour to start with my second baby. 40 weeks tomorrow and I have never been so pregnant! Anyone else feel like they are going crazy waiting for baby?
Loved the video! I was wondering can you have a natural birth even if you have a low pain tolerance? Because I have that, but I really wish to give birth without medication
Oh Ruth ... you are amazing, I just loved this video. I literately felt the contractions with you .. haha Great memory for Jet. Well done. So you got that for Baby No. 2 .... I was very lucky with my first birth as well. Very interesting to hear about the hypnobirth. Thanks for sharing this with the world.
oh you're so kind! thank you for watching and for your lovely words! it felt strange putting something so personal out there but glad that people are enjoying it! phew! ha xxx
No, I actually think it is absolutely brilliant. And a great story to listen to when you are expecting have forwarded the link to a few people i know that are currently pregnant , without a doubt they will be very much inspired by your experience of the hypnobirth. So thank you ... & wishing you all the best for the coming 20 weeks and please stay so real and positive ... love watching your videos. Take care
Thank you for this nice video. I wish I would have seen it before my first birth, we learn so much important things inside. I hope my second birth will be better with hypnobirthing and all more knowledge and preparation :)
Loved your birth story with nova so hopped over here to watch this one! Sounds so perfect.... mine didn’t go to plan 🙈😂 I did a birth story on my channel, wasn’t going to mention it but after what you said at the end I thought I would. Lovely video 😘
A really great video, thank you! I needed this to keep me positive. I'm planning on using hypnobirthing (end of Jan) and at times feel daunted about how I'm going to get through it but you have calmed me down. Did you write a lot about hypnobirthing and wanting to have a natural birth in your birthing plan? xx
I love your humour 😂 I'm so new to hypnobirthing .. I'm 22 weeks and have been trying to find a video I like to meditate to on TH-cam.. I don't find the women's voices soothing 😩 Btw did anyone tell you, you are the image of the woman from bridesmaids 😂
bright mama you had such a great birth!! I wish I'm lucky enough to have a birth like yours!! Thanks for this video! Bad thing is that I can't have a waterbirth in a hospital here. But I'm thinking to get in my house tub for as long as I can ,until I'm fully dilated(or at least think I am). I'm also reading about hypnobirthing now. I just wanted to ask you, how do you tell when you are in the 2nd phase? Because you feel the urge to push? And before you didn't feel that? Do you feel your pelvic bones opening? Thanks!
Thank you for sharing! I'm not he search for positive hypnobirth stories as i'm due in July. Did you have a doula or a midwife the you hired? Or were Henry and the nurse midwife your only birth coaches?
The way you explain it, it doesn’t look like you were using hypnobirthing. It seems like you were panicking and didn’t know what was happening. Just putting it out there so people don’t expect hypnobirthing to look like that.
i enjoyed this video so much i will be 19 weeks tomorrow but i am starting to get curious of what kind of birth i want and this has gave me a lot to think about ,xxxx
You’re a wonderful story teller! I enjoyed this so much! You’ve given hope to women who aren’t even pregnant yet that there is hope that it can be a positive experience. Thankyou so much for sharing.
Alexandria Moon ah you're so kind! I'm so glad you enjoyed it and found it helpful and positive! Xxx

Beautiful birth story! I am 19 weeks pregnant and the fear has just hit me. This birth story gave me hope for a beautiful, natural birth. Thank you 😊
Ruth, I loved this! So often you hear negative stories that can be quite off putting! Thanks for sharing a positive one x
ah im so glad you liked it! I think it so important to keep positive labour conversations going xx
40weeks and 4 days pregnant and watching this amazing video right now! thank you so much for sharing your story with us! you are amazing!!
I pray for a safe delivery! 🥰 (btw I'm not even pregnant or married but I like to be informed about this kind of stuff! Lol)
I'm not even pregnant right now but this video has made me really excited for labour! Thank you for sharing such an honest, positive experience x

Were in the same boat 😂 except I am 25 weeks lol
so beautiful ♥️ this is the perfect birth story! I hope your next birth goes just as smooth!
I love the way you told this story! like girlfriends chatting!xx
Bianca Hazel oh thanks babe! Xx
Thank you for sharing. I’m expecting in Jan and have been interested in hypnobirthing so this was perfect!
Amazing birth story! Love what you said about it being a mental state of mind that shows itself physically - so accurate!! I just uploaded my review of the Positive Birth Company, want to spread the word about how amazing it is!
What a beautiful story! You were so brave! It's so nice to hear positive stories like yours ..specially when labor is so close :-)!
biomammy ahh thanks lovely xxxx
Never sat through a video so long but loved every minute! Such an excellent narrator. I'm going to get every book on Hypnobirthing but at 20 weeks so few more weeks left
S A ahh I'm so glad you found it interesting!! Thanks for watching all the way through! Ha xxx
Really loved your video. Thank you. All the best for your second xxxxxxx
I know you did this video a while back but still so relevant. Loved listening to your story 🥰
Ah I'm so glad! Thanks for watching! xxx
Thank you for your video. I am pregnant with my first and had this feeling that birth could be like what you explained but never actually heard someone explain it the way I wanted to hear it until watching your video. Good luck with the second
So insightful! I love this ❤
Thank you for sharing your story. I found it really interesting. If/when I have a child I definitely want a hypnobirth!
I love your story! I laughed, cried and laughed a bit more.. it’s so nice to have a good description of how everything happened.. it’s like I watched a money lol.. well done to you! :) and thank you for shearing your story!!
Thanks for watching lovely! xx
8:04 🤭🥰 that’s good luck! And a good nickname for your baby as you’re telling his birth story 🥰
“The ladybug spirit animal has always been a symbol of good luck.
Yes I was the same! SO amazed by the science behind it all! xxx
Love this! You are an awesome story teller!
cwinters11 ahh thanks lovely! xx
Thank you so much for posting this video. It’s helped me so much, very informative and also made me laugh so much
Anyone else notice Mr lady bug crawling up her sleeve 😂 love the video x
I loved this! I’m only two months along but have decided to do a natural birth. This was awesome. I didn’t like the idea of a water birth, but you definitely gave me something to think about!
Cynthia O'Keef ah I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Congrats on your pregnancy, very exciting! 💕
What a great story! And made me laugh which is so wonderful!
So so helpful! Loved this video. I’m considering hypnobirthing as well.
Ah I'm so glad you found it helpful! You should definitely read The Hypnobirthing book- its so great!! xxx
Fantastic first birth story! I can't wait to hear your second one :-) I am currently waiting for labour to start with my second baby. 40 weeks tomorrow and I have never been so pregnant! Anyone else feel like they are going crazy waiting for baby?
Katy Faith Chui ah congrats!! Hope you have a really peaceful, empowering birth ❤️❤️
Ruth - bright mama Thank you! That's what I'm praying and working for xx
Hi Ruth. Loved this. I'm due 20th March and planning a home water birth. I'm a new subscriber and so excited to binge watch all your vlogs. Xx

melimelodie87 ahhh congrats!! Thanks for watching ❤️❤️
Loved every minute of it! Thank you so much xx
Enjoyed watching this! Thanks for sharing your experience! I give birth in February and watching this helped ease my mind about a few things!!
Loved the video! I was wondering can you have a natural birth even if you have a low pain tolerance? Because I have that, but I really wish to give birth without medication
Oh Ruth ... you are amazing, I just loved this video. I literately felt the contractions with you .. haha
Great memory for Jet. Well done. So you got that for Baby No. 2 .... I was very lucky with my first birth as well.
Very interesting to hear about the hypnobirth. Thanks for sharing this with the world.
oh did i say ..i actually had happy tears in my eyes ... such a great story ;-)
oh you're so kind! thank you for watching and for your lovely words! it felt strange putting something so personal out there but glad that people are enjoying it! phew!
Thank you so much for this video 💗 It’s super encouraging and lovely to hear. I’m ordering some Lego 😆
haha yes its all about the lego! 😅xxx
This!! This is what I want! Thanks for sharing, I’ll put all my hypnobirthing tools into having a calm & relaxed birth like yours.
Loved your birth story with nova so hopped over here to watch this one! Sounds so perfect.... mine didn’t go to plan 🙈😂 I did a birth story on my channel, wasn’t going to mention it but after what you said at the end I thought I would. Lovely video 😘
Amazing story telling 🙌🏽😊 thank you for sharing.
This was amazing to hear about! Thank you for sharing babe 💗
ahh so glad you liked it! xxxx
Also.. comparing the ejection of your baby to the ejection of vomit 😂😂😂👏🏽
hahaha
A really great video, thank you! I needed this to keep me positive. I'm planning on using hypnobirthing (end of Jan) and at times feel daunted about how I'm going to get through it but you have calmed me down. Did you write a lot about hypnobirthing and wanting to have a natural birth in your birthing plan? xx
I have been wanting to have a home birth so badly and this video really helped me confirm that!
Well wasn’t this just LOVELY!
I love your humour 😂 I'm so new to hypnobirthing .. I'm 22 weeks and have been trying to find a video I like to meditate to on TH-cam.. I don't find the women's voices soothing 😩
Btw did anyone tell you, you are the image of the woman from bridesmaids 😂
3 contractions in the space of 10 minutes and each lasting for 1 minute.
You’re adorable.... thanks for sharing your story!
bright mama you had such a great birth!!
Thanks for watching| Yep I just had Henry and the midwife xx
Loved this!
I quite loved this video 🤍 you’re a very great story teller ! Also Go you !!! #SuperWomen
Absolutely beautiful! 😍
thank you lovely! xxx
Loved listening to every minute ❤️
OMG I absolutely LOVED this birth story. Thank you so much for sharing. I’m 3 days away from having mine! Eek
The way you explain it, it doesn’t look like you were using hypnobirthing. It seems like you were panicking and didn’t know what was happening. Just putting it out there so people don’t expect hypnobirthing to look like that.
Amazing story!! I have hope for a great birth:) Did you tear at all?
Thanks for watching! I did tear, but only a very small amount. They called it ‘grazing’ xx
Thanks for sharing. I'm 21 weeks along.
i enjoyed this video so much i will be 19 weeks tomorrow but i am starting to get curious of what kind of birth i want and this has gave me a lot to think about ,xxxx
Chloe Macnamara ahhh congrats!! Thanks for watching lovely xxx
Did you tear? I loved the story also
Hi love! No I didn't xx
bright mama hey 👋 thanks for the response, that's awesome! You rock!
Great story and great storyteller ! But too much details I think.... Video a bit long
