0:55 I think you can from two parts only make one that works properly. This was my solution for a pair of defective Sony alpha-700. Wonderful video-manual with tips and tricks of a 4 models user. People like you make TH-cam such a valuable place! Thank you very much!

Best 30 minutes I've spent. Thank you so much for this.

These really are great cameras excepting the fragility and the quirks which are the locking mechanisms on the exposure compensation and mode dials. I really wish it didn't have those. I picked one of these up at the start of this year as I wanted to go back to a camera that shot film but had all the functions of a DSLR. I looked at many things and with the F6 being really too expensive this is probably the next best thing. I guess for me the one thing that really lets it down is that it only has 9 focus points, but you can work around that if you focus and then recompose.
This was a really good walk through explanation of all the custom menu items. Most of them make sense but for the few that didn't to me you really explained them well and showed your knowledge and experience in doing so.

I wanted to see this because I bought my camera from a Japanese seller snd it was set for the Japanese language. Custom #35 gives you the option to change languages for those that only need that information or want that information first to better follow this excellent video. Thanks

I just bought a Zeiss Vario Sonar 24-70 F/2.8. It has a button on the side of the lens. Custom menu 6 may be useful for me now. I've learned more coming back to this video again. I now have a depth of field preview button. I was trying to work out what it was doing or if it was specifically a Vario Sonar thing. It appears that the Zeiss Vario Sonar is seen as a D lens by this camera. I was half expecting the button to do nothing. But, it does indeed work.

Have you run into a buzzing sound upon power one. I currently confronted with this problem. About to inquire about repair costs. Could be apeture base plate.

I have not. That sounds like a motor issue.

For custom 25 does the STF mode fire the shutter 7 times? Or in camera it almost complies ome single exposure together like an HDR type thing?

It will fire the shutter 7 times at different settings all onto the same portion of the film. That creates an image that replicates the look of STF images.

Do you know, somewhat specifically, what electronics fail on these and if they are repairable?

Not the specific component. These use an integrated flexible board, though, and there's no easy way that I know of to remove and repair individual elements on it.

the error is related to the apt assy, plastic cogwheel falls apart and must be replaced

Custom 7 doesn't work as you say. It works with the eyestart "main switch" not with the "main power switch". That eyestart's "main switch" is on the right side of the rewind button.
