I keep bees and it’s the most exciting time when it comes to harvest! You really feel like you have come on a journey to get to the honey. People don’t realise how hard you work for every spoonful. Keep up the great work 🥰 with love from England 😉
Absolutely... it's taken us 4 years of beekeeping to get to this point and we're just getting started
@@whitehouseonthehill I wish you good luck 😄😀
@@whitehouseonthehill Dude! I cannot "bee-lieve" that you have a stockade of honey from the hive. You and her are basically the drone and Queen Bee of the video.
here some tips when cleaning the combs for honey make sure you keep the capping you can turn it into a nice candy and make more money great for both ways!
The honeycomb melting is so satisfying
True :)
Yeah :)
Very nice send me Pakistan
Yasss❤
wish I had that honey it would be perfect
So satisfying to hear you are finally seeking out the knowledge of a mentor and other local beekeepers. You will be buying a bigger extractor next year!
I purchased your honey and received it a few days again. All I can say is wow! I have only had honey off a supermarket shelf and the difference is incredible. Your honey is amazing!! My whole family loves it!! Thank you for the opportunity to purchase a little piece of your farm!!
Address and phone numbers ' please
This is always my favourite video of the year, I wouldn't mind if it was longer 😬 and it was so satisfying seeing the wax caps get melted ☺️
Thanks!
I absolutely love how much the kids are involved, and the assembly line is the most perfect thing ever!!! 🙌🏼🖤
Suggestion: get a stamp of your logo so you dont have to hand write the tags. :)
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is so beautiful to see, i am really happy for you and your harvest!
I have a few tips that could help (i have harvested a lot of honey). You should first start the extractor on the lowest speed, then turn the frames so that you extract from each side of the frame. Then do the same thing with a higher speed. You can increase the speed like this and turn the extractor on for about 4 rounds.
Also, the extractor is moving so much either because it is not level or the frames differ in weight too much.
We use uncapping forks (those that look like big, usual forks with many teeth, not reversed). They are faster than the hot gun and less damaging than the hot knife. They leave a very nice looking comb afterwards if done with care (scoop small sections at a time, don't go from side to side).
I hope you continue to do great and share it with us! Your farm is wonderful and i really enjoy seeing it grow!
Uncapped honey on frames can sour and ferment from having too much moisture. Has nothing to do with crystallization.
The honey looks so yummy, I ordered a jar!
Thanks!
The flow of the honey is absolutely beautiful! I love all the aspects of life on the farm you show, but taking care of the bees is really fascinating to watch. Thanks for explaining all the aspects of honey production so well!
Have you considered moving your hives to a shaded area or adding shade to where they are?
We just got our hives in March and aren't planning on touching the honey this year! We keep having to explain to friends and family that the bees' needs come first. We won't have a harvest this year, but hopefully, next year, we will have plenty of honey!
Thank you Jake and Becky for sharing this..Learn so much stuff after watching your video...Wish you and family the best of health...From Singapore here..❤️
Using a electric hot torch I a good idea but takes a lot of time , so what i do is , I use a electric shouldering iron machine ( of 25watt ) & remove the soldering bit of it & attached a stainless steel wire net edge - which at the end work as a HONEY PAW machine , & work as a butter knife - really smooth really fast
Love how clear and golden that honey is, what flowers do they get pollen from?
All over our pasture... a lot of clover, wildflowers and Tulip Poplar's in that honey.
Just a tip from an electrical engineer, unspool all your cable from the drum before using heavy loads, if you don't the insulation in the cable drum will melt sooner or later and It can start a fire.
This is so fascinating! Not just the honey harvest but also all you’ve learned on how to build up your bees and getting them healthy! Thanks for the video!!
I swear I’ve been waiting for this day😂 So happy you guys are able to provide for your family like this. One day I’ll get there!
Amazing work. Just ine tip, when you get the frame out shake it 2 or 3 times so most of the bees can get of it and then brush the rest with the brush. It is making colecting honey frames more easy for me. :)
Sure enjoy watching this, not only are bees making all that honey but imagine all the pollinating they are doing in your area. We plant a lot here we get a few Honey Bees but not lots, one year there were three kinds of Bumble Bees LOTS. This year I have watched two kinds of Bumble Bees not as many as last year. But anyway you are doing so much more then just making honey, you are helping Trees make fruit and nuts, flowers make seeds, gardens make vegetables, kudos to your family!!!
Good to see you grow as a beekeeper and you're doing beekeeping with splitting. Great job. Just a few suggestions. Get some turkey feathers, use them as a brush. Far easier and makes the girls much less angry.
Your third strainer isn't really required.
Just remember you don't need to see the queen. Just need to see eggs. If there are eggs, she's been in there in the last 3 days.
When cutting it helps to make a saw motion with the heated knife.
Just extracted 700 lbs of honey this year. Remember to be treating for mites in August for winter bees.
Already sold out! The honey looks so good! I like to buy chunks of honey comb, I mix it in almost everything.
I'm always spellbound by the bee process! Boy he really likes his honey and his eyes are amazing.
You and Becky inspire me to try things out of my comfort zone. I'd love to have a hive.
I didn’t miss the honey order!!! Yay! ❤
Yep, forgot to make them available on our site, they're up now.
It's been a number of years since I've seen a video of yours. A short just popped up. Was an early subscriber and your honey-loving boy was just born. Glad I found you again
I just think you and your family are so lucky to be living like you are. I sat here thinking in my whole life(70 now) I have never held a chicken or patted an emu. I'm allergic to bee's so that is out, but your animals most I will never have the pleasure of patting or feeding or hugging. I've had dogs, cats and rabbits. I am just amazed at all you and your kids do. Thank you for sharing your life. Oh and PS.. I do know how to catch a snake 😁
Love Becky's big expressive eyes. Glad she could pass them down to a couple of the kids! 😊❤
Congratulations on your harvest of honey. I have heard of the heat gun method for the wax cappings, but in my opinion, the heat might kill off some of the natural enzymes, antibiotics, etc., that is actually a benefit from raw honey. You will get different opinions im sure, but I just stick to the wax scraper. Good job with the bees, and im glad they are flourishing !
Correct when you heat it is not consider raw honey
thank you, Miss Jenn🙂 @@jenniferapiary
Grats on your big harvest!
Uriah is keen on bees and honey production compared to the other kids
its been interresting following ur journey and watch u guys learn. glad u got a comunity to surport u in ur beekeeping travels.
For the last four years I have missed out on getting a jar of honey, and finally I can get one! You all are inspiring. Keep doing what you do. ♥
love your choice of honey jars.
loved the heat gun idea, also so cool how it made the honey look so beautiful!
so encouraging you have changed for the better and reaped the benefits of it keep it up beautiful family
I just love how your homestead is family run. ❤❤❤
The honey flowing is mesmerizing 🐝 🍯 and seeing how affectionate Bamboo is was a treat ❤
We had a great harvest this year too!
I ordered honey before watching the video because I didn’t want to miss out this year. The first order I placed for two. Because you said you would cancel any that had more than one I went back and placed another order for one. Sorry about that. I got too excited. I got some of your honey in 2021 and missed out last year. So I just quickly ordered. Can’t wait to get the honey!!!
I agree with you Uriah bees are fascinating
😊
God has Blessed you with such a Beautiful Family Thank You for sharing your Blessing.
I enjoyed watching this video, and learning a little more about honey extraction (liquid gold). The best part having you family involved.
I'm looking forward to your honey. We just ordered a jar.
There is a way to help prevent pests in the beehives, especially moths. If you are doing honey harvesting rounds and notice some of the honey comb was used for brood at one point, you should not return the once used brood comb back to the hive. Melt it down, purify it, and use it for something else. The brood comb attracts wax moths the most.
DANG I missed it this year. Hopefully next year I'll not miss my chance at getting a jar. SWEET VID! Love the hives. You guys do a great job!
Not sure if you do the off-camera frames that slow.. and not sure if it would help at all but there is this serrated knife you can get that has the same angulation as the hot knife, but all you have to do it saw down through the caps. Another tool you could get is an Uncapping Fork that can pick at some of the caps that get left behind.
I really love your videos your family is absolutely lovely and to be included in some of your family's day-to-day life really means something to me I appreciate your videos so very much for this little moment in your life
Oh! Your ému is so beautiful. He has such a pretty head.
Isaiahs his little face lit up when there was honey around, 🍯 he's got a liking for honey like pooh bear 🍯❤
Is it possible you integrate your hive to a sylvo system of moringua or tagaste. It will help with the heat, good source of food for honey and high protein/fiber leaves for cattle
How fab . Love watching your family and the animals 😊
I really like the shape of your bottles!
Thanks!
Dang I’m “late” aka 10 hrs since the video posted and honey is sold out! Either way great job on the harvest and how big the colonies have become. I remember watching when you got the first hive and all of the struggles between then and now yet you’ve never given up and they’re bigger and better than ever! Good stuff!
Sucks to suck
Awesome harvest. Just ordered a jar!
You should offer a slice of honeycomb for sale! Would instantly buy for about $40
Looks delicious it takes me a really long time to use up a jar of honey as I'm diabetic so I don't indulge in this treat to often. Some day I will order s jar.
My doctor told me to keep honey to use for low blood sugar. Better for you than sugar.
So satisfying
You can make things so interesting thank you so much for sharing your journey
You guys are great and helped me learn a lot about my poultry thanks from wales 🏴
hey guys. been following for a long time.. you know what might be kinda cool for packaging up the honey, is if you made your own beeswax and dipped the top of the jar in the beeswax to seal it. plus u could make a stamp and stamp your logo into the wax, sort of like the Kings Seal or whatever its actually called. maybe would be a fun adventure in learning how to make the beeswax, dye it maybe. would be a fun video for me to watch :D
Yum ! well done all that lovely honey collected in the heat.
do different bees make different-tasting honeys? or is it dependent on which flowers and plants they're around? I'm so fascinated with this. what are your favorite uses of thehoney? got any good or wacky recipes?
Beautiful honey. A very nice color.
Yes, it is so light and golden!
Just got one of your bottles of honey, super sweet, thank you very much! 😁
WoW I enjoy watching this video , it so informative & the honey is so tasty looking great job you guy's you're truly blessed thanks for sharing you life on the farm with us .
Little Isaiah melts my heart!
I don't know why this made me so emotional, i really love your life style i am simply amazed.
At first i thought this is yt shorts. But we got an update video!! Gj guys
Y'all have such beautiful Soul
Thats an interesting frame size, looks enormous they must be very heavy to lift, I'm using langstroth which I find manageable.
A kind of life I really wanted. So satisfying, so relaxing.
My other half's family produces honey, and I've always wondered how it was done. Always wanted to see it in action
I'm a beekeeper in Brazil, and I like seeing this activity from other countries, congratulations on the work.
When I was young I didn't care for honey either...now, I love it! A serving a day love to be exact. ♥
Same here my taste buds have developed to love it. Same with onions
Just bought my honey 🍯.
If you are using a high powered electrical device through an extension lead I’d suggest unwrapping the complete cable instead of leaving it wound up on the spool.
This type of family we all need ❤working together is a lovely feeling 🇮🇳🇮🇳👍👍👍god bless u for all
Ive waited so long to get some honey for you!
I always miss the honey. One day. One day I’ll get my hands on this delicious honey from my favorite TH-cam family 🩷 I’m also in Missouri so I know it will help my allergies!
I love bees videos ❤❤❤
never gets old watching honey flow:)
One teaspoon of honey and a teaspoon of lemon juice dissolved in lukewarm water is very good in treatment of cold. drink it at least twice a day for a week. wild honey is favourable.
Drones also keep the hive warm in the winter.
Love seeing all this manual extracting in your official "Flow" hive suit, lol.
Can't wait for your next year honey mania collections 😂
Great video on your honey 🍯 harvest. I love the colour of your honey. Nice light amber. Our honey is darker here. Where did you get your jars 🫙 I like the style. I hope your 2024 season is just as good! Cheers from Nova Scotia Canada 🇨🇦
Have you noticed a difference in taste between heating it up vs using the scraper?
nothing better on a hot day by the pool then a fresh chunk of ...ICE CREAM!!
and oh yeah I love honey on the comb with my waffles or Pancakes 🙂
Hey sir.
Not sure about the heat gun 😭
Here in europe we’re avoiding as much as a possible heating up the honey. It’s kind of destructive for all it’s properties, and might even have an impact on it’s conservation period.
Your life’s a dream for many btw :).
Have a good one
I saw a video about "flow hive" it automatically collects honey through a see through screen and using pipes.
its not optimal because some honey remains i. the hive or floats out of the entry hole. this attracts wasps and hornets which may kil lyour hive
@ipaduser5375 OK thanks I didn't know that
Also saw a video about a Russian guy growing honey in large plastic bottles it was just labour saving thats all.
Traditional way like yours is good for longevity I think
videos and how to care for your bees in nature are very good and cool, greetings from us trigona 🇮🇩
I got the honey..delish. It seems you have slowed down on videos. I look forward to seeing the latest news you and your lovely family have to share. Hope all is ok.
do you leave whatever doesnt make it through the filter out for the bees to collect again?
A Honey Explosion and it will only be a bigger exploision year after year. Yall are getting very good at this. I am with Uriah. Honey is too sweet for me, although he denied that was the reason, he went on to explain that it is too sugary for him. But Uriah and I both recognize the miracle and the beauty of Bees and their Honey. Love yall.
11:35 just casually smooshes like 200 bees
‘I’m the only one that likes honey’ got me laughing
Nature's liquid gold! Thank you so so much for sharing us your experience harvesting honey. So sorry that last year a lot of bees had challenges surviving. Pray that this year your hives will all survive and thrive throughout the entire winter!
I actually didn't know you can eat with the comb together. That looks really awesome!
This really was satisfying!!!
Where did you get that bucket/box for the layens hives please? I've been searching for something similar but couldn't find it.
You have such Beautiful Animals.
