I really admire how you keep the kids all involved.
Uriah's my little beekeeper... I'm glad he likes to help me
Enough chores no baby sitter required too busy to get into trouble, well that was my dad's thinking anyhow!
Same! ❤
@@whitehouseonthehillUriah is brave I can’t even do that job
Does anyone else love White house on the hills bee videos?? My favorite! :D
I like all his videos He likes to garden as I do. He keeps bees I do as well.
yea the bee content is one of my favorite things to watch on this channel but i also just love any and all videos they upload
That’s small hive beetle larva. You’re better off tossing those cut outs and letting them draw out new foundation. If you wanna keep it you can cut out the bad parts and then freeze the frames for later use. I do live honeybee removal’s here in Central Florida full-time. if you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out and I would love to help
Wow you know so much about bees now compared with the days when you got chased and stung. Now you are confidently doing rescues, well done you and the kids.
Yep, I've had some good mentors along the way to help me learn as I go... definitely feel more confident in what I'm doing now.
Baby girl is really growing by leaps and bounds!
You’re amazing how you work with all those bees. I wished you were able to get those other clusters of bees. But you did an amazing job. Maybe you can get more.
Thank you for sharing your journey.
I’m not a fan of bees close to me but they are fascinating insects. Thanks so much for rescuing them from the fallen tree. I still felt bad for the ones that got left behind.
When White House on The Hill our day lights up! Love your contents!
I’m so happy for you and the bees you rescued! I hope they do well!
That larvae is from wet "honey soaked" comb. Hive beetle crawling in the comb when you show it up close. Wet comb is best to crush and strain the honey and give it back to the bees. Good job catching it before you lost the hive. Wax moths will go after pollen and brood and burrow and "slime" your hives too. Don't know how much experience you have with hive pests but your hives look good. Keep it up and God bless.
Yes, I've been beat by wax moths and varroa mites in the past. Getting better at keeping them at bay.
Just a helpful hint... next time leave the hive there next to the tree with all those bees since ya wasn't sure if ya had the queen.. make sure there's brood in the box and likely come back after dark and they will all be in the box
Yes, if he had positioned the box in one position, say on top of the tree trunk, and then moved the small limbs with the bees to the top bars and covered the box with each jostle, then he would have been more secure in getting the remainder. The bees in the box would have begun to throw a scent and this pheromone would entice the bees to come in. If he had gotten a good portion of the bees in with only the brood comb (no honey) and left the box overnight, he could have picked the box up with most all the bees! (pick up before daylight)
Those larvae were they wax moth larvae?
@@NancyBryantIdeas least hive beetle larvae
Goodness! Is Isabelle Two already? She's lovely, just like her mama! Very fastinating, watching the bee collection. That was a BIG hive! Congrats for being the person who was called.
2 in one month!
I remember when you first started keeping the hives. . how far you have come! It's a fastinating wou for sure
Thank you God for the bee's who help us with our food!
I always love a garden update! Glad y'all's garden has been productive this year. Can't say the same for most of mine, but I've at least got a few types of mint to work with. We recently made a watermelon salad with some of it. If you're feeling crafty, it might be worth a shot. I'd never had watermelon salad before, but the melon pairs shockingly well with a balsamic-based dressing and a bit of cheese. It's a delightfully summery dish and you can use basil instead of mint. We tried it with a strawberry balsamic and a lemon balsamic and both were hits.
Glad to see the Lego hive thriving too. It's truly payoff for all the work y'all have put in.
Lots of love from somewhere else in Missouri.
Thx for helping the bees
Little Bella is getting so big 🥹 I am so excited to see her grow into her personality more 💗 Love the bee keeping videos. They are always so fun. From where you started to where you are now has been a wild journey. You guys are awesome! Thanks for letting us in on your lives. ❤
Thank you so much!
You may already know this but marigolds are a great big deterrent if you don’t like using chemicals (which I don’t. The bugs don’t like the smell or taste of it. Plant them either side of the veg and it should really help. Cheers cherieK 🦋🐿 🌈 🇦🇺
My late FIL was amazing at growing veggies, he always had a row of marigolds planted round his beds.
God bless you for saving the bees!! 🐝🐝🐝🐝
Watching the bee hatch was awesome!
THANK YOU for being so incredibly gracious with my fan girl kids who recognized you during your shopping trip today. You totally made their week!
Wow that is a lot of bees!
just seeing these videos pop up in my notifications makes my day just soo much better :) so thank you for doing all of this and i hope you keep going!
She is so cute
I remember my mom putting in beets with the cabbage grow boxes when the bad caterpillars and cabbage worms came. They loved the beets more than the cabbages, mainly cuz of the sweetness of the red beets. We still had some red beets left over, but the cabbages were mostly saved cuz of the beets.
I hope those new bees do well! I love watching your videos on the bees, it's very interesting and fun.
Stay frosty and stay safe!
One way you can tell if you got the queen is to see if they are fanning and if they, are you got her.
One thing I suggest is placing the hive on its back side instead of placing the hive with the frames down because the grass will sometimes stick to the wax and honey on the bottom of the frames and make a mess that the bees have to clean up. Love y'all videos!
Correct, I've been doing that most of the time, sometimes I revert back to old habits.
My goodness that little lady she is definitely identical to her brothers that little round face beautiful eyes she is gorgeous❤❤❤
Yes! Save the bees! So glad they called and didnt just keep logging, or otherwise destroy it.
How lovely to.hear from you, I have missed you guys. Glad you got some free bees. Bella is so sweet, I love the whole family.
Nice video. Hope the new bees will survive and succeed.
Fabulous video. Thanks so much. Makes me wonder if I could keep bees. Always wanted to. Hello from South Africa 🇿🇦
I'm so sorry for the bees hopefully there okay🙂
Very exciting a lot of work but well worth it. Good luck
Hello. I'm watching your video, have a nice day. Chicken beautiful❤❤❤❤
do you need to plant more flowers to accommodate more bees?
We have many acres of wild flower around the farm + a lot of unused wilderness around us.
Awe baby isabella already hitting all the phases ❤
Look up Josh's Frogs. You can get frogs that will bed in there. Just get a small clay pot and make ahole in the top rim and set it upside down. you can also get some lizards that will help as well. They also have Praying mantis and lady bugs that are my main way to fight insects and caterpillars moths.
The new bees emerging was amazing
video is stuck at 360p!
🥲
Rosemary and lemon grass are also good to plant with your cabbage to repel worms.
FREEBEES 😂 Literally! ❤
Watching you work with the need OSS just so amazing, you have gotten a really great bee business going there. The kids really enjoy helping with them, and I love the Lego give you all have built. Great job getting that hive up and running.
Thank you, James!
Such a cool video!!
Awesome video!!! And you're garden is doing really great 👍🏼❤
Thanks, Jenny!
Hope you can show us how you harvest them later.
Good that you saved the hive and got rid off the infested ones.
Wonder why the bees never attacked the intruders ?
Just too many to handle I suppose. We will show a honey harvest in a couple weeks.
I have 22 sunflowers growing over 5ft tall
loved watching the baby bee emerging 😍
The lego hive is so cool! It is my second year beekeeping and wow is it ever a journey. Lots of hard sweaty work but rewarding. This year was my 1st year harvesting some honey and it was delicious! I cant have as many hives as I would like since I am in the suburb with less room but I wish I could have unlimited..Maybe one day. I love your channel!
My daughter and I love your channel. We are fellow Avian lovers as well. We were wondering what part of the U.S. your farm is?
Not sure if it's my signal or devices, videos keeps getting stuck and glitching. Love the content from South Africa😊
I'm in Michigan and this vid is glitching and freezing as well...
Its was fine for me here in England
The birth of the little bee was really cool
I love to see you work the bees
Thank you, Gail!
It is an amazing project. Looks great
Thoroughly enjoy the videos on the bees!
Glad you like them!
I didn't know much about Bee Keeping thanks for sharing info on it.
You bet!
dam this guy really cares abouyt his fan
by hearting them
this nest was so tame glad you are finding good wild ones
I agree... they're doing great!
Thanks again for showing such an awesome event of a bee first flight. ❤
WOWZA - what amazing knowledge and skill you have when it comes to BEES!! Great to see you know how to save hives! Love seeing your garden and the boys sunflowers. Thanks for the update!!! LOVE YOU GUYS - GOD BLESS!
Thank you very much!
Maggots are indeed a problem after relocation of bees. Dead or crushed brood easily attract flies. While attaching combs to frames a little of such crushing of brood always takes place, but bees often remove the dead brood. The newly captured colony must be given limited comb at first so that the bees completely cover the comb. Flies can easily enter bee boxes but a stron curtain of bees covering the comb can stop the flies.
Those Bee's are as busy as your family is Thanks for sharing 👍♥️🗝️🇺🇸🐝🐝🐝🐝
Wow that's amazing I just started beekeeping in South Africa with a 5 frame medium nuc and love your videos
Awesome!
Another day of saving the beeeees…
I hope they survive and produce honey for you guys.
Thanks!
FREE BEES. WOOHOO. That is awesome. I got 3 hives in the yard.
Glad to see you got them.
That is an absolute blast to frame up comb like that. I don't have a bee vac.
Hey take one of your frames with rubber banded comb and lay it on top of the bees on the ground. They will climb aboard.
As an edit you can set your box by the left over bees and just give them an hour. If you have your queen the leftover bees will join the crowd in the box.
Another day of saving the 🐝 🐝 🐝
Your videos are osm brother love from india . I love your kid how help you in your daily work. Your cute peacock are osm
Wow
Those lego box's are awesome boys
I love the whole video!
@White house on the hill, also with the I’ve beetle larva, great footage and a natural remedy you can use is some peppermint candy to help take care of the beetles.
nice video
since have been watching you i am you bigest fan
Recommend different sized branches for them to roost/climb onto. It promotes foot health and will help with the one's foot curling issues by allowing him to utilize different sizes and different strengths as a form of PT for the foot.
Hi, I haven't commented lately, but have been watching almost every one of your videos, and I have learned a lot and love seeing a laid-back way of life. I have a question, does the honey all taste different of the same? I know the pollen they collect comes from flowers all around your property but I'm just wondering. Thank you.
Honey that comes from different sources should taste different. I am no connoisseur, but I would think it would have a different flavor. I plan to keep bees, in the future, so these videos are very interesting, for me.
Yes, honey from different plants and flowers tastes different and sometimes comes in lighter and darker shades of honey.
If you have a stick with some white cloth, white paper or even a white plastic bag flapping in the breeze, other white moths think that there is already a moth there and will not bother to lay any eggs. The garden is looking great. Good luck.
keep us updated on if that hive hatches a new queen or whatnot
Please post your videos frequently 9,10 days is a long time

It sounded like an Asteroid
Entering the atmosphere, (but idk)
You've come a long way re bee skills 🐝🐝🐝
I love your videos and animals.
I love the mustache
Your bee videos ultimately encouraged me to pursue bees for our farm. We just got our first five nucs from a local beekeeper in early May, and they're doing well now that the soybeans are taking off, too! I'm hoping to be able to catch a swarm or two come swarm season!
That's so great to hear!
Your beekeeping is coming along quite nicely! Bare with me I have a couple of things to say that will do you good and help you also! When you remove a feral colony, don't put honey ...honey comb in the frames for the new colony. Put it in a bucket AND place it at a distance away from the new box. Get a boardman feeder for the front of the hive. My suspicion is that the queen is a new caucasian-Italian hybrid. Maybe a Bro. Adam bee. The eggs you so generously showed were not posited in the direct center of the cells. This says two things: Either your queen is very new or you have a laying worker. I did not see any "over time brood" and this makes me believe the former. Just giver a little time and you should have a whole passal of new brood. The bees had a couple of oval beginnings of a queen cell. Was there anything in those cells? My guess is that there was not. If your new queen does not start laying aND making brood, you may need some queen material. In your nuc I think the bees will have been working overtime to make a new queen. All looks wonderful! Do you have queen cages? Those larvae. Those were small hive beetles. You did the right thing to get rid of them. Beetle traps to fit between the top bars of your brood box. You're great! Keep up the good work.
Yep, queen doesn't want to lay. We moved her to a new hive. This hive is making a new queen, so hopefully that will fix their problem. Old brood and honey was removed. Gave them new frames from other hives with the brood in the middle of the hive.
Feed the wax worms to your poultry they love it
a papaya plant would be a great addition on your farm, its easy to grow and bares a lot of fruit for fam and animals
Bee don't see shades of grey, they see three colors like we do, however unlike us it's not "red, yellow, blue" it's "yellow, blue, ultra-violet"
love your video can't stop thinking about when you will you post ur next video
That’s quite a big hive from the tree hope you got the queen and you can break it up into two hives. Now I had a new box set up for new hive start. I don’t know if the queen flew off but I opened it up and there is five new queen cells in the box so I moved them out of the nook, and into a full-size hive an up right Looking forward to see how that fourth one is going to do I’m up to four full-size hives now still a beginner, but getting there slowly❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You guys are awesome
So scary and so interesting 🤔 at the same time I love this hobby it is so cool but I do not have the land and to many children live in my neighborhood and houses to close together I would love to though.
🤩🤩🤩i love this
Me: Mom Wake up! White House on the Hill posted
Mom: Ight lemme grab a snack for both of us 🤩
😊
a beeutiful video. I can see why it's all the buzz now.
Thanks!
Awesome bee 🐝 adventures. Bamboo seems to be getting revenge for last year when the girls were picking on him!!
Seems that way. Maybe he'll finally breed this winter.
I would've left the hive box there next to the big swarm on the log, and then came back a few hours later. That way the bees would move into the new hive.
I looked online about bees seeing color. “The color family they see is yellow, green, blue and ultra-violet light. But they can’t see shades of red and orange. Bees love bright colors....”. They also cannot distinguish between red and black.
Everything looks great ! With so much honey and comb what do you think of making your own creams with honey, wax and oils ?
Just as an fyi if you didn’t know, don’t let cucumbers go yellow because that will kill your plant off and it will immediately stop producing the yellowing of the cucumber is a signal to the plant that they are done. Thanks for sharing another great video be blessed
We get the cucumbers as fast as they grow. Some get yellow... the plant keeps producing.
Excellent capture Jake !
Youve done so well with the Hives since the Crazy Yellow Hive 😵💫👍.
That was beautiful warching the New Bee emerge 🌞.
I'm so pleased to hear that you got some Brasicas this year Becky 🐦.
JO JO IN VT 💞
Many thanks!, Jo Jo!
I just viewed an interesting YT video about insect bathroom habits (specifically No. 2). It starts off with Bees and then moves on to other insects. All interesting. It is put out by WATOP and is titled "Why Do Insects Die When They Poop." It is a misleading title as they don't perish. But it is interesting. I thought you might like to know about the Bees. I was unaware. The Bees are amazing (as usual).
