      I have a doubt. Suppose I take the plus package in bluehost. After creating a primary domain during the registration, I now want to create another website using another domain. As u said , I have to create an add-on domain right. So how much do I have to pay for this new domain. Can I just register this domain for free in bluehost itself, or do I have to buy the domain somewhere else for money And then add that domain into this bluehost hosting account as an add-on?

    LOL! I am googling like crazy trying to figure things out, and I found your medium article which was great but very information dense... So I decided to go you youtube to see if I could find a video explination. Then I realized 6 months into the video that you are the same person who wrote the article I was on! Great job providing this info in different formats/ways

    Thanks for the explanation. Do you have videos specifically about hosting with bluehosting but with Google and godaddy custom domains? And then creating email accounts for these domains and updating spf or mx records?

    Thanks for the video. I assume it's actually ONE domain with some possible subdomains. And subdomains can have their own WordPress installation.

    • @zachgoll

      This is my one complaint about Bluehost. You have to contact their support to change it, but overall I'd say their response times and support is pretty good.

    Hey Zach. I have a primary domain that I am no longer interested in maintaining. I have an addon domain that I want to keep and grow. How would I go about this?

    Thank you so much for this video. I have been considering switching over to Squarespace from WordPress thinking that Squarespace was more user-friendly, but the customization on Squarespace I'm finding is actually pretty limiting so I don't know what to do! Trying to figure out WordPress/Bluehost is so daunting!

    • @zachgoll
      @zachgoll  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep if you're looking for longer term customization, I think WordPress is your best bet over Squarespace. You can customize a Squarespace site, but unlike WordPress that is open-source software, Squarespace was never meant to be extended with lots of customizations.

    After you switch your primary domain to a domain that is of a different registrar (mines comes from google), how do we get the website back up and running? What links need to be relinked? Or files rather. Would be helpful to do a video about that. My domain from google use to be on the bluehost as an add on, but I switched the add on to the primary and i didn't renew the former primary, I just wanted one domain. Plus I wanted to downgrade to basic from choice plus. But yea, help please, ha.

    Hey Zach, I have a question regarding the add on domains. Say I have the primary domain I registered when I first signed up for bluehost and have since launched different websites on add on domains. If I no longer wish to renew that initial primary domain and let it expire, what would happen to the add on domains?

    Hello Zach, can I get the basic plan and create like 10 subdomains to store demo websites? Sorry if that doesn't make any sense, I was actually planning to practice and store those sites somewhere. Informative video, thanks.

    Thanks. you cleared 50% of my problem. The other 50% is that for the 2nd add-on domain, how can i have a separate email for the newsletter to send mail to the audience of that site.

    If I’m hosting on cPanel is there a point to getting multiple domains or do I have my client just get their domain

  • @Iosif-Bitie-glava.37.stih.17
    @Iosif-Bitie-glava.37.stih.17 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    My primary domain is expiring and I wanted to let it so because I will not be using it. I wanted to change one of my addon domains to primary yet I am unsure if something will break. I asked the support about it and they just gave me an ugly email and an article which only confuses me. They've sent me an email that says that content functionality is my responsibility which makes NO SENSE to me as these are separate entities.
    I am however very disappointed that I've committed to blue hosting and expect nothing but unclear instructions.
    My worry is that something will happen to my account and others domain if I let the primary domain expire. Common sense dictates this should not be the case yet they are 25 dollars ahead and I am 30 dollars behind with yet another frustration.

      You will generally have to pay around $10-15 (USD) per year for a domain, and another $12 for privacy (which I recommend). So in total, each additional domain is going to cost you about $20-30 per year. You can register these new domains within your Bluehost dashboard. They are technically not a domain name registrar, but they partner with a registrar called Fastdomain (if I remember correctly) so that you can do everything within Bluehost.

    I can't take my eyes off that scented candle on your desk... When my first laptop was brand new, I placed the desk lamp too close to it, so one corner of the lid melted because of the heat from the bulb.
    Other than that, the video was a bit long, but very helpful. Thank you.

    • @zachgoll
      @zachgoll  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually EPP codes come in when you're transferring domains from one registrar to another. Are you transferring this?

    As great as this video tries to be. Still tells you how useless the companies who set up these hostings are useless. SEEMS I CAN'T HAVE MORE THAN TWO SITES. I just bought another domain even from Bluehost and while I already have two sites. But a third one seems to be impossible with the same hosting. I get an error like this :
    It looks like there is already a site at 'mysiteexample' Please select a different location.
