I love how practical your videos are, this is exactly what i was looking for and thinking about. In my opinion though the odd 600grams this thing will weigh is still too heavy and too large to actually vlog with and i will most of the time end up going for my pocket 3 or iphone (whic has a horrible inbuilt mic so that has its own problems)
Thank you so much man, I appreciate the encouragement. I know it is not Epic but I enjoy it and try to honest, maybe I can help someone save money and have fun doing it. Thank you!😊
You sold me on this lens! I'm upgrading to the RP and was apprehensive about this lens for video because of not having IBIS or lens image stabilization. But it looks like not having IBIS in the camera is actually a good thing in this case--no wobbling, unlike videos I've seen of this lens on the R5 and R6! Digital stabilization makes the footage look immaculate! Thank you!!
Oh man, trust me it will not dissapoint! I have a video I will upload tomorrow with a RUNNING TEST with the 16mm 2.8 and you will not believe it! With Enhanced stab it just works, it is a sleeper combo for sure! Thanks so much for watching, I really appreciate the support! Let me know when you get it and if you have any other questions or video ideas you want to see I would be happy to do them for you!😊
@@breakfastforyousoul I'll look forward to tomorrow's video! A video I would LOVE to see is a comparison of this 16mm with the new 15-30mm f4.5-6.3 IS STM lens. Both lenses seem to be ideal vlogging lenses, but the zoom has IS. I was just wondering what the differences in stabilization, image quality, and low light performance might be (all for video/vlogging, not photography). There have been next to no reviews of this lens; it seems to have been totally overlooked by everyone. Very hard to decide between the two!
Thanks for review. I guess its a good combination R8 and 16 mm . Only question is stabilization in different modes of stabilization and scenarios as walking in woods, streets, shopping, driving car all other typical vlogging situations. Day and night. Make longer video to show all options:)
I am using a canon M50 APS mirrorless camera and 16mm f/1.4 lens total weight of 793g. do you think the R8+16mm 2.8 lens @ 626g is worth the upgrade price? I could probably sell my curent body and lens for about $700, so it would cost a bit over $1000 to upgrade.
Hi! It would definetely be an upgrade, especially in picture and video quality. Low light photos and videos will be a larger difference. However, if it is worth it for you depends on if you will use it, how much you will use it and if you will get 1000 more enjoyment out of it.. If you use the camera a couple times a year nah, I would not. If you feel the upgrade will have you using it more and it would be enjoyable as a fun and enjoyable hobby or building up a youtube channel and it is worth the 1000 than it is a great camera for sure! I can tell you I had the R10 and I Definitely am glad I sold that and upgraded, but I kind of prefer the full frame look, just my personal preference. Thanks for watching! If I can help in any way or if you have suggestions for future videos let me know!!😊😊
How much did you sell your r10 for? I recently got it and love it so am contemplating maybe getting another canon for full frame but will probably keep the r10 for the compact form factor and smaller lenses for when I walk around a lot
Great Content: If you purchase a camera today, would you recommend the sony fx3, canon r6 mark ii, and Fuji Hs2s for doc/vlog content or any other suggestions? I also like to take pictures on occasion. Also, what lens did you use for this video? Thanks, great content
Hey man! Appreciate that! Unless you do wedding photography or full time videography, personally I think you are better off with the R8 versus the R6ii. It is 1,000 dollars less expensive and has the same sensor, Awesome Autofocus, rear screen, and processor... Just in a smaller body. If you can get by with a smaller battery (just buy a few extra cheap batteries on amazon) and only 1 card slot, which Is fine for me, the R8 is the way to go! The FX3 is nice, great for video if you are really going to use it professionaly as it has a built in fan and will not overheat. Lenses are also a little less than full frame and you have a HUGE selection of lenses to choose from, where canon there are a limited amount. nothing wrong with the FX3 it is a great camera, Personally I just like the full frame look. I liked the ZVE10, and the Canon R10 was o.k as well for less money if you are just starting out, It really depends on what your going to use it for. Any suggestions you would like to see let me know! 😊😊
Hey there, thanks for watching. Yes it does! It also shows it officially now according to Adobe on their website as a supported Camera about 5 days ago!😊

Good video! Were you using anything to hold the camera? I am looking for a recommendation on a grip for a setup like this.
Damn this footage looks good! I’m looking to get this setup for running
I think it looks great! No Jitters or wobbles.
Its viable for vlogging perfectly fine👌
Good straight forward review thank you!

Good video. I agree, for mobile video work this is the one. Are you using the onboard mic in this video?
Thank you! in the outdoor scenes I am using built in camera Mic , straight out of camera. For inside I am using the rode video micro.
@@breakfastforyousoul Thanks!
@@StefanMischook Thank you!
Footage looks good. I bought this lens for under $200 on ebay. I have not used it for vlogging yet. - Frank

Looks useable to me.

Does Lightroom support canon r8 raw files right now?
