A cookbook would be awesome! I love camping - grew up camping. As I'm getting older (I'm "old") I'm starting become more fearful of camping alone - unless I'm in a campground - which I don't really enjoy. Gotta find a gal-pal to adventure with. Very lucky to live in Oregon - there are so many great places to get away!
7.3 is a beast of an engine.

Hey Jonathan! Thanks for the Q&A video. I've been watching you for a couple of years now and learned more than a couple of new things. Good luck with your move. I always hate moving, but one of those tasks that has to be done.
I'm sorry that your East Coast trip didn't work out that well. I enjoyed the videos but get that things get lonely on the road - especially over those distances. I do feel bad as I was one of the people to recommend Acadia NP. It is such a beautiful place with so much to explore. Hopefully, you'll get back there someday and bring Kaya the Adventure Dog along with you!

As someone that used to live in Oregon, I love your recommendations. Crater lake is a must. Like it's just so crazy. And Tillamook, Bay City, Astoria. Yes. Gorgeous. Willamette is such a beautiful forest. Go to all of these places if you go to Oregon👍

Man, I think the cooking aspect of your videos is one of the reasons I love them so much. I’ve been camping all my life, and I still get good ideas for camp meals. I think it’s part of your niche. A camp cookbook is a great idea for some merch you could sell that would be evergreen. Anyway, great videos man, you’re killing it!

Good video. Man I just went from a tundra to a duramax with my slide in pop up camper and I'm so glad I did. SW Washington to Montana will be a much better trip. And the diesel does better on fuel economy.

Sawadi Jonathan! Hey, have you ever been to Michigan? If not, you HAVE to visit the Leelanau Peninsula,(Sleeping Bear Dunes area) and Upper Peninsula. Beautiful in summer, fall colors are absolutely amazing. You MUST visit. You'll thank me.

Total Composites campers are the bomb. I am friends with the owner Andreas (name drop warning) their campers are amazing. I built my own popup camper, but am seriously considering selling and buying one from him. I have seen many of them in person and had a demo in my truck for photos and he even used my Ram 1500 for measuring before they started building slide ins.
A flatbed would be epic on your Ford.
Side note. I would be in for a camping meet-up one day. Would help organize too. I'll bring the cigars and bourbon.

If you're looking for ancient culture, take a trip to the Four Corners area of Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Arizona. That is where Chaco Canyon, Mesa Verde and a lot of the other cliff dwellers and Puebloan societies lived around 2,000 years ago during the Medieval Warm Period (same temperatures as today). At the same time the Vikings lived in Greenland and the great cathedrals were being built in Northern Europe. Unfortunately the Little Ice Age came along and killed millions of people across the Northern climates. Sorry about the history lesson, but the Cliff Dwelling, Puebloan areas are amazing.

Right! Landons' Dad died when he was young, so he is learning camping and construction, etc from Isabel's family. It would be fun to see a colab with these two young couples. Isabel has the perfect wedding location. Tess and Jonathan could get married up there.

dude the extra money on new leaf springs would really be unnecessary. unless your springs are over-maxed like 24/7 for a decade or so the metal used will pretty much last a lifetime. not saying you can't crack a spring, it does happen, but very seldom. best bet would be some top shelf gas charged shocks and new bushings for your springs. they will and do wear out. wouldn't hurt to spend the extra bucks to get top shelf bushings either. they do make a difference. as far as the 7.3L goes, imo the best diesel engine Ford ever made. with regular maintenance and service 500,00 to 1,000,000 miles is very much a possibility. but that is, with all engines, luck of the draw. i've seen 7.3s go tits up with less than 50,000 on them. but i personally know 3 dudes that are still going with over a million miles. and the flatbed approach for a camper, you'll be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner. gives you so much more securable storage space for outdoor equipment it's amazing. measure the WxLxH dead space area of your camper squared off and that's how much storage space you can gain. love your videos and keep livin' the dream my friend.

Once a week is great! Its not livestreaming, which is a lot easier to do. But also, that isnt your vibe. Once a week is a nice balance for the audience and a lot from the creator.

Portland is a crap hole compared to what it used to be. I have lived here for over 20+ years and I hate going downtown anymore. It used to be nice to visit. The grafiti is everywhere and homeless tents on every corner. Its disgusting honestly.
dont take the truck to europe. roads are wayyyy to narrow to navigate with other traffic in some places.

I like Jonathan's videos a lot but he wrong about making good money from TH-cam. Unless you are willing to make a massive commitment to it, it's hard to make good money from it. He has 126K subscribers. That's okay but it's not great. He likely doesn't make more than a few thousand a month from his channel.
